You know when you go to breakfast somewhere and it's a 45 minute wait at 9 am then it has something people like about it, and it was not disappointing. We sat at the counter and watched the cooks preparing everyone's meal, I must have change my mind a dozen times as I saw these delicious looking meals going onto a plate. Our choices hit the spot, and very happy with the waitress and the cooks who where in tight quarters but worked like a well oiled machine. To start the food is delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and fun. If you are looking for classic diner this is the spot. Big portions, very tasty! Also I cannot say enough about the service. The general manager greeted us and was training a new employee at the host station. Very friendly and great communication. But what topped everything was our server, Sam. She was so clear, helpful, and fast. She had an amazing attitude and positive spirit and went out of her way to help us and make sure we got out on time since we had a tight schedule. She even took several photos to make sure our group shot was just right. Sam is a star employee for sure! Just a word on group size, remember it's a train car. Super fun, but there is only one table for 6. Otherwise the booths are for 4 or 2 people and there is a counter. We didn't have to wait long at all, but it's not going to work well for larger parties unless you split up and even then it's tricky. read more

This place is amazing if youre half history buff and half FOODIE! To start, the staff was amazing and the food truly spoke volumes! My fiancé and I loved the ambiance and how old time-y it felt in there. It really felt like you were transported back in the past where many before you weren't even eating but sitting traveling to wherever they were going. It's definitely smaller (since it was an old train car) but you hardly notice that with all the amazing food options there! Really tasty breakfast with a cool building. Its a diner car. Its a fun idea. The staff is crazy friendly. The food was pretty excellent as well. We split the country fried steak and it was excellent. I would highly recommend for sure. I dont know how it works with parties over 4-6. We were able to get in pretty quickly only being two of us, so it might not be as much fun with a larger party, but was perfect with two. read more

WOW! I'm so glad I was able to squeeze this experience in my short weekend work trip. I was lucky to get a seat at the bar, where the kitchen was right behind it so I was able to see how the food was made and exchange conversations with the staff. The waiter behind the bar was miraculous. Not sure how she does it but every customer was attended to with no delays. There was probably a good dozen seats at the bar with constant traffic. A must visit breakfast diner anytime I'm in Spokane. Been coming here for years, and love to be able to sit at the counter and watch the guys work the flattop griddle. The corned beef hash is superb, as are all the omelettes. Nothing too fancy here, just great food and solid portion sizes. The coffee options could be a little better, but I suppose a classic place like this doesn't want to get too high-falootin'. If I lived here I'd definitely be a regular. read more

I brought my family here and used the handicapped access because we had a "walker." They found us a bigger table in the back, and our waitress was a delight. Now for the goodies: food is lagrer scale diner food and I can see what there is always a wait here to get in to Franks. This place mostly seats two and four tops. Food is excellent and goes from regular diner fair to upscale crab salad salad. All the ingredients seem like the better choice. Can't wait to.go again. I love the ambiance of this place. The restaurant is a big dining car. There are tiny booths for two on one side and tiny booths for four on the other side. You can also cozy up to the bar and eat your breakfast there watching them cook. Their french fries were amazing. They were fresh cut, and really crispy. My BLT was good and I really loved the bread. My daughter had an eggs Benedict and said it was fantastic. This is a busy place, little loud, because it's so small, with a bunch of people running around everywhere but it works. They are efficient. The wait wasn't long at all, the service was great, and the food was good... Except for those deep fried deviled eggs. I love deviled eggs and every time I go to a restaurant and they offer them I buy them. I have not once been blown away by a deviled egg in a restaurant. Sometimes less is more. The deep fried deviled eggs looked beautiful and had a great presentation, but overall they lacked flavor or seasoning and I wouldn't order them again. Arriving from the airport, the fried deviled eggs with crispy bacon were a great starter with a flavorful, creamy filling and excellent texture of the fried egg whites. We loved the breakfasts of eggs Benedict with properly poached eggs, buttery hollandaise sauce and seasoned hash browns. The great northern burger was large and juicy, with a buttery toasted bun and typical toppings that was so filling that I couldn't finish the tasty fries. I am visiting Spokane for work - it's only my second time here so I feel like I have a lot of places to try. This seemed to rank high and I liked the idea of the building being an old railway car. I sat at the bar where I was greeted quickly. After I ordered, it only took 5 minutes for my order to be made! Talk about fast. I could watch the cooks make my food right in front of me. The eggs were perfectly cooked how I ordered them and the bacon was delicious. The toast wasn't your typical run of the mill bread, it was very thick and tasty. I recently visited Spokane from Seattle and this place came highly recommended. I am so glad I went here. We did not have a long wait. Our server, Gage, was very nice to us and she has been at the place almost THIRTY years. She told us her story of working there. Very sweet woman. Everyone there was so nice. The food was delicious. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs. My partner had the caesar salad. Mine was cooked just right and did not come out too cold or too hot. The caesar salad was very fresh. They have large portions as well so make sure to come with a hungry tummy! :) The place had the cutest aesthetic which you can see in the pictures. It was built out of an old rail car that used to be the president of the railways personal rail car. Frank's an overall happy, casual vibe. I highly recommend Frank's. We got the Joe's Special and the Creole Seafood Omelette. I enjoyed the Joe's (and I'm usually not an eggs fan) - and thought the hashbrowns were crunchy and tasty. My husband ate every bite of his omelette! The shining star, however, were the biscuits that came with it. They were excellent - especially with the homemade jam. I could get a dish of just those! The place is small - and quaint - and we had a 15 min wait on a Monday @ 11 am - if that gives you something to judge by. The staff works damn hard and that alone warrants the five stars. We showed up on a Sunday morning and the wait was a little over an hour for a party of five. But the good thing is, we were able to put our name on the list, go to church, and then come back, and our table was ready. The server was super friendly and very helpful. The crispy deviled eggs were delicious as an appetizer. It comes with four halves. I ordered the mozzarella Caprese Benedict, and made the mistake of only ordering one egg. It was a small portion. The crispy fried steak was decent, and the French toast was a very large portion. I think it ended up coming with six half slices. Overall it was decent diner food.
