They always keep me waiting when I call in plenty of advance notice to pick up. If they tell me it's ready in 20 minutes and I go 30 minutes later and still have to wait another 15-20 minutes, then something is wrong. Too many times there is an error in the order. Sometimes the pizza is so underdone that the cheese is sliding off and it's wet underneath. This was all pre-Covid, probably worse now. I have been to Frank's more times than I can remember, (the first time being when I was about 6, the last when I was 21) mainly because my grandmother used to take the family there after church on Sundays. I have seen the place remodeled, the menus redesigned, and the pizza go from being some the best in the City to another one of the "pretty good" ones. No mistake: this is by New York, not Kalamazoo standards, making it better than most pizza in the United States. The slices are fairly larger than average, have a nice flavorful cheese, but have in the last 8 years or so become very thin and greasy. (Or at least more than they were from what I can recollect.) However, Frank's pizza is not it's biggest calling card; they have a great menu full of traditional Italian dishes that would make any Italian grandma proud. Their calzones are massive, bursting with cheese and surrounded by a nice crispy crust. Then there is my personal favorite: the heppie roll (like a calzone, but with mozzarella, peppers, onions, and Italian sausage.) I still judge every cold antipasto by the monster they serve up at Frank's. Even the unending stream of warm bread they put on your table is A+! Finally, it really is a restaurant, not just a pizzeria where you can only grab a slice and run out. You can sit down in one of those big booths, get comfortable and be served. (Especially after they remodeled.) So here's to you, good ol' Frank's: thanks for all the years of serving me up some of the best Italian food in Brooklyn. I just went to franks yesterday night. What a big disapointment! I ordered a calzone fresh & it came with little or no mozzarella cheese. Then i ordered a square slice & the dough was raw & it was a bread slice. It had little cheese & very little sauce. This place used as "in an emergency break glass"!!!! This place is only receiving 3 stars for the timely preparation of the order. The bread was really dry and slightly burnt. The pizza was far from Italian. I am not a fan and I do not recommend you wasting your money. The chicken parmigiana was far from what I expected. I ask for linguine with my order. The lady placed the order for linguini but I received penne for some strange reason. I had to question my order and was given a side dish of linguini. This place is disgusting! I came in to get two slices of pizza (a plain and a pepperoni) and the same man who is at the register is the same person getting pizzas. I told the man that he was just touching money so he shouldn't be touching my food. The asshole looked at me and said "do you want it or not?" Really sir?! That's your response to a customer?! No I don't want it. The fact that he thinks this practice is ok is disturbing! And the fact that he responded to me like that is also an example of how they view their customers (or maybe just how he viewed me cause I'm black). I ordered from Frank's on Friday, March 27th and the man who answered the phone was so unprofessional, rude and disrespectful to me. He hung up on me before I was able to tell him what bell. I understand they are under pressure with what is going on in New York, but if it wasn't for us customers, they wouldn't be open for business. They are a pizzeria, not an Italian restaurant but their prices are higher than an italian restaurant. They charge $2 for delivery and they food in just ok. My favorite neighborgood pizza spot was closed for Labor Day weekend, so I decided to give the local competition a shot. Competition? Not even close. I tried the pizza, the garlic knots, and the cheese calzone. The dough on the cheese calzone had the flavor of a cheap Italian hero, and the cheese blend inside was kind of on the bland side. The pizza had way too much cheese, which might not be so objectionable for everyone, but unless you gobble it up quickly while it's very hot, you're eating a congealed cheese mass with some tomato sauce and softened pizza crust. And I like my crust crispy, which this wasn't. The garlic knots, VERY garlicky, but the bread itself didn't have much flavor otherwise. I'll admit, I was very skeptical from the get-go, and determined to find my pizzeria from childhood to be superior in every way, so maybe I set myself up for disappointment. It's that rare kind of disappointment I'm OK with though, because I think I would have been devastated if I found that I preferred the food here to the pizzeria that I've considered the best in the world (or at least in Brooklyn, and yes, that includes DiFara) for my whole life.My husband, who doesn't have the 25 years of fiece loyalty that I do, deemed the pizza "pretty good" (he likes the extra cheese because he eats faster than I do) and he liked the garlic knots too, so Frank's will probably be our new back-up pizza place. Frank's is the best tasting pizza in Marine Park. Knapp is a close second. Crust is crisp, not too thick, and cooked perfectly. Sauce and cheese are of a high quality. I have had other dishes here like chicken parmigiano and calzones that were also good, but the star here is the pizza. The reason I am giving it four and not five stars is because they charge for delivery and parking over there is terrible. Also, if you choose to dine in you have to be waited on by a server, which means spending more on a tip. I don't mind tipping and do it generously when I eat out, but would rather not on pizza night, know what I mean? Pizza is all a matter of opinion so what I am going to be writing has nothing to do with the food. You be your own critic. My parents used to take me here when I was a kid and I always had held this place as a neighborhood gem with solid food. However... this review is about the customer service and treatment of who they probably deem run of the mill customers and not their regulars. Ordered a pie on 10/31/2018. I also ordered a salad dressing that mind you I clearly stated that I would pay for. The girl working behind the counter said no worries and when she came out of the kitchen one of the guys there stopped her asked what she was doing. She told him she was giving me a dressing for salad and he screamed at me in front of the whole restaurant and staff. "We charge $5 for dressing... nothing in life is free". His own employees looked at him like he had 6 heads. I told him I would pay for it no problem and he proceeded to tell me to take it... "You need it more than I do". Needless to say I left it there and took the pizza. I called the restaurant back and spoke to a waitress and told her that that guy had a lot of nerve and really embarrassed me over a salad dressing which I gladly would have paid for and that it wasn't right. Just by the tone of her voice she couldn't have cared less. Marine Park is changing. Start treating the younger generation right. Word of mouth travels quickly and a lot of people are noticing how you treat certain types of patrons. You guys should be ashamed of the way you behaved. read more

So i just ordered from Frank's and boy, i was not disappointed. I got the cheese and sausage calzone with extra cheese. Best calzone I've ever had, and I've had em everywhere. Also got a cannolI, which normally id only get from a bakery or maybe a cafe.... but i just had a craving. Cannoli was better than i expected, not super fresh, but that's to be expected at 9pm at night... but still very tasty. For some reason, my in-laws are obsessed with this place (probably because its fairly priced and close to their house). Its not the best restaurant, but its okay. The waitresses are all middle age/older ladies that are super sweet, especially Debbie, who puts up with a lot of "ribbing" from my Father-in-law. They have spacious booths for parties of 6, which is nice. Decent house wine and a good Caesar salad with endless bread and butter. Their pasta sauces are a little greasy for my taste and they don't have the greatest pizza, but the pasta fagioli is good and I really like their heros. Although their slices are solid and above average even for NY standards, it isn't their pizza I crave, it is their al dente side of spaghetti with meat sauce, veal francese and a crisp rice ball with their amazing marinara. Brooklyn is full of good pizza shops. And thank goodness ... I love pizza! This place, is well above average. Not the "best" but very very good. I really like their sauce and dough. However every once in a while it can be a touch too salty. They make a good rice ball special and I like most of what comes out of that neat oven (take a look at it and you'll see what I mean). There are maybe 6 pizza shops within 5 minutes from here and this is our favorite in the MP area. The staff is friendly and have been very kind when we feel adventurous and eat in with our toddler. I just ordered from Franks again their chicken cutlet parmesan is one of the worst that I've ever had their chicken cutlet is then and it's like rubbery on some pieces that you chew terrible and they are so thin and this isn't just the first time I've ordered it I've lived in the area for 5 years I don't know what everybody's bragging about but if you order it you will be disappointed its like some frozen thin chicken cutlet I get thicker chicken cutlet ni hungry man meal which I wouldn't eat either but its like this with any chicken you get from them if you like the chicken from this place then you haven't had real chicken cutlet parmigiana which you can get from another place locally which I won't name and I've ordered from this place quite a few times spending a real lot of money and I'm disappointed with everything I get obviously the people that rave about it haven't been to a really nice place inside is nice but the food's terrible their sauce is good and that pasta is good like the chicken cutlets terrible but I guess that's how you make money in the business you buy the cheapest you can read more
