I also consider myself a pizza connoisseur, next to ribeyes,barbecue and key lime pie, I'm probably saying my fourth is pizza. It's totally different than Chicago pizza, and I think it's because of the water I really do!!! What separates pizza places are either the ingredients, or in this place, what separates them is their crust. They make everything fresh right in front of you, pictures are below. Jennie took our order and she walked us through the menu. We ended up getting a big margherita pizza. My son got the 2 tomato slices, he isn't a big cheese fan. My wife got pepperoni, they have beef pepperoni or pork pepperoni. Mikey Love was really cool he came out and greeted me. My kids got a drink, and then guess what, their gelato was actually top tier. I went for pizza and found out the Geloto was was awesome. You go to a pizza place and then get gelato. They had vanilla and watermelon, it was so good. I got some for my daughter, I tasted it, and one of my self them one of my sons wanted some as well. Bernadette was making them and having a great time. Great Vibe here If you come to Brooklyn and you want great pizza, you need to try this place. This place is absolutely awesome.

I've been eating L&B Spumoni Gardens for as long as I can remember, and it remains exactly what it's supposed to be: loud, crowded, unpretentious, completely its own thing, and ridiculously good. The square slice is the square slice. Sauce on top, cheese underneath, crispy edges, soft center. Don't overthink it. Get one. Then realize you should have gotten two. The sit-down food is classic Brooklyn Italian comfort food, the portions are generous, and obviously you finish with the spumoni. This isn't precious food and it isn't trying to impress anybody. That's precisely the point. Brooklyn has changed about 9,625,247 times in my lifetime. L&B is still L&B. Five stars. Always.

Tried the crust alone, which tasted fine, so I'm pretty sure it's either that rancid tasting sauce they use, or a combination of that and the cheese. White slice - smelled just as bad as the plain slice, but tasted slightly better. The ricotta was actually quite tasty, and the mozzarella was of ok quality - I've certainly had worse. I threw some Tabasco on it, and was glad, because it helped me to actually enjoy it, by masking the awful smell. BBQ chicken slice - The bottom of it was completely burnt. And I usually enjoy a slightly charred crust, but this was so blackened that it was inedible (see picture I took). That pizza shouldn't have been sold to customers - it was completely ruined. I cut the bottom off to redeem what was left of the slice. The chicken was overpoweringly sweet, and everything else was bland. The dough was far too thick. I wouldn't recommend it. Beef patty - wasn't as filled as I would've liked, and the crust was a bit on the mushy side - not flaky, but otherwise tasted quite good. One of the better items I purchased. Spinach roll - like both pizza slices, had that burnt plastic/paint smell. Also, they sprinkle the dough with sesame seeds, and though I'm normally a fan of them, I found that the flavor didn't pair well with the sauteed spinach and cheese for some reason. But once I scraped the sesame seeds off, I must say, the spinach roll was *quite* good. If I was starving, I'd go here for the spinach rolls and beef patties, but little else. I wouldn't recommend getting anything here involving tomato sauce. *Update* - It's the morning after I ordered take-out from Five Brother's and I woke up with excruciating stomach pain. Can't say if it was due to the food here, or not, (which is why I'm sticking with 2 stars instead of 1), but I can't help but be reminded of the rancid smelling sauce from yesterday. I think it's safe to say that I will most likely not be returning here, and certainly wouldn't recommend this place.
