Remnants of the salmon and beet salad. After 2 salad dressings with no other vinaigrette options, I'll bring my own next time!

The view of the golf course adds to the traditional feeling, and service is friendly. However I ordered a salmon and beet salad which had a honey vinaigrette which was extremely bland and sweet. I asked for vinegar to slice it up and they only offered malt vinegar( not a key ingredient for dressings) or a balsamic vinaigrette ( more like a sweet gravy than a salad dressing). Next time I'll bring red wine vinegar from home!

Popped in for the Southern Barrel Brewing tap takeover, and sat at the bar for dinner. Shared the Spread appetizer (two cheeses, country ham, house pickles, sesame seed crackers) and a pick 3 BBQ platter with my husband. Service was much better than last year, and the portions were huge!!

    Prime Rib Dinner

Waitress was spectacular - she was so personable and attentive. Sangrias were great and appetizers were quick. Only downside to the experience and reason for one less star is my mom ordered the steak medallions cooked medium and they were sent to the table not once but twice raw. After that we gave up and she ordered the shrimp scampi - which was her first almost choice she wished she got from the start! Prime rib on Saturday was spectacular and burger was great. Just a shame it took two tries and the steak couldn't be cooked correctly. We almost finished our meals before my mom got hers. Still a decent experience!

Sigh I don't like leaving not great reviews but the service we received during dinner was very disappointing, especially as we had come two other times on our trip and enjoyed it. We didn't get a waiter for 15 minutes after getting sat. And when we were done we waited 35 minutes without seeing our waiter. And that point we had other plans to move on to so we left while one person stayed to pay the bill. He said it was like 15 more minutes and that the bill didn't actually come from our waiter but another employee that saw him awkwardly sitting there at a large empty table full of empty plates... with that being said my food was actually really good. Seared rock bass with sautéed Brussels sprouts were delicious 9/10. Buffalo wing appetizer was also great with big meaty wings

A pretentious spot that almost overshadowed a great day at the beach. Overheard service internally immediately want to shuffle us outside - when we walked up to host stand they then proceeded to ask like we had the option Went with the defending champion burger medium well that was seasoned with an old bay esque flavor. Nothing really stood out including the fried jalapeños. Appetizer was fine - served its purpose with queso, salsa, and guacamole Service was ok - some friendly people but they were sprinting around multiple tables that slowed things down There are better options on the island no doubt

A follow up review from a few years ago when the experience was not great. We had a great diner with friends, good food, service and an awesome venue with terrific golf course and sunset views. We dined outside and although warm the fans provided enough air for the evening. Terrific apps and broad menu-selection from burgers and briskets to market priced fish. Our server Faith was genuine and helpful and managers consistently checked on us throughout the meal. Good selection of drinks, local brews, wines and memorable cocktails. Enjoyed the evening with small groups of friends and saw some larger families enjoy the evening. Good choice, comparable prices and a good value. Will continue to be part of our Sea Pines experience. Thanks to the staff and chef.

Great low key casual meal. Love the fish n'chips. Typically try and watch my diet, so I will pick the fry batter off from around the fish, this time there was quite a bit of batter around the fish. Food was still great. Good service. Will go back!

This was my first time at Hilton Head Island, and I was truly lucky to be seated with Alexis! She was incredibly patient and attentive, regularly checking in on us throughout our visit. Despite having other tables to manage, she took the time to answer all of our questions about the island and offered fantastic recommendations for delicious dishes to try! Also the view is beautiful!!!

    Salmon dish. Perfection!!!

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.

Hilton Head Island has seen some changes in food offerings in the last decade, but fresh and new American fusion isn't common. Enter Chow Daddy's. With two locations (the other in Bluffton) we hit this one on Hilton Head. It's a risky place to put a restaurant, buried in the back plaza of a nondescript but high-end shopping center deeeep in the wooded neighborhoods of the island's Southern tip. If you're staying elsewhere on the island, you'll find you have to pay a small fee to access Sea Pines but many people do to get to the Salty Dog Cafe as well. While it may not get a lot of visibility, it is definitely worth seeking out for the very good Latin American cuisine being offered. Out party of five arrived on an August Friday evening after making reservations and were impressed with the cleanliness and upscale minimalist vibe. Dark booths and Edison-style lighting are offset by the daylight let in by picture windows. There is outside seating in the patio (very pleasant in the shade) and a small bar open off the host area. Inside seating is large enough for bigger parties of 6-8. Definitely not a post-beach day place, but perfect for date night, or more dressy family dinner out. Service was quick and talkative; we enjoy chatting beyond food with out severs which makes the experience even better. Apps and mains were delivered quickly with good presentation. We started with the fine fresh corn dip - extra tortillas were helpful to get the last bits. Mains included a fresh and well pattied cheesburger, mix-n-match tacos and two specialty bowls - cajun shrimp with spicy fine fat prawns and an Ahi-tuna poke style bowl. The rice in both was excellent and the portions were perfect. I'll try to un-hide this hidden star with this review and encourage you to seek it out if you live on "HHi" or make your next visit. Rare 5 star from us.

I came here with a bunch of friends from my undergraduate research lab while we were in Hilton Head presenting at a conference. We had rented a condo to all stay together and this place was in walking distance, so we headed over. I don't remember what all everyone else got to eat, or much about the service, but I do remember it was a total vibe. Beachy decorations that were fun but still classy and not too kitschy, warm lighting, good music. I ordered an item probably not even on their menu anymore: pulled barbeque chicken on a hunk of spicy cornbread with a side salad. I checked online and it's nowhere to be found, but it slapped at the time, and from pictures it seems like you can still maybe order their spicy cornbread at least, which was the best part! It had a great cakey texture and some legit heat. The chicken was succulent and tender and the smokiness paired well with the salad. It seems Chow Daddy's enjoyed a decade of success after my visit so long ago. I hope the temporary closure listed on the Yelp page doesn't turn into a permanent one. It was a pleasant surprise to be reminded of this visit and my time with friends.
