I have a ring with a lab-grown diamond in it and an engraving on the inside of the band with my last name. That's important to note later. I previously had work done on a ring by FM Jewelers back in 2022. Great experience. Because of that, I brought my wedding ring into FM back in January. The ring had a bent prong and the center stone was loose. I just needed it tightened. They informed me that they don't work on lab-grown stones in house and would have to ship my ring out to their corporate office. Not my favorite plan, but whatever. I was trusting based off of the good experience that I had previously. They quoted that it would take a month to ship the ring out, have the repair done, and have it shipped back. No worries. They gave me a price quote and I left my ring with them and went on my way. I wish I had trusted my gut and walked away instead. A month passed. I got the call that my ring is done. Yay! I went to pick it up and while I was inspecting the repair, I noticed that the engraving on the inside of my ring had been polished out. Do you know how much gold had to be removed to buff an engraving out? I showed the staff and asked why the engraving had been removed. They were tightening the stone, and the band didn't need to be touched at all. The staff at the PO store were thankfully very nice and got me in contact with their manager. Their manager requested that I send pictures of the engraving since it wasn't noted on the paperwork when I dropped it off. Thank GOD I had a photo. If I didn't, I don't think they would've done anything to help me. I sent the manager the photo, and also stated that it wasn't my responsibility to note the engraving when it's easy to see and the sales associate who took the ring didn't ask me for any information regarding the rings condition when I dropped it off. The manager apologized and said they'd send it back to their corporate office to get re-engraved. Another month. Ok fine. Another month passes. I get a call from the store that my ring is back, but that the engraving is very poorly done. They said they could either try to buff the engraving off and redo it or just give it back to me with the bad engraving. At this point, I had left my ring with them in January, and it was March. I called another Jeweler and they recommended that I leave the bad engraving on the ring rather than risk losing more gold from the band of my ring. I called FM and told them to leave the bad engraving and ship it home. A bad engraving, truly. I have an "S" in my last name and it looked like an "8." The whole thing was warped and blurred together. I got my ring back mutilated. They did fix the loose stone, but the sentimental value of my ring was stripped from it. The good: FM did offer to pay to get the engraving done elsewhere since they couldn't do it. The employees at the PO location were very nice and communicative the whole time. It truly seems like they're caught between a proverbial "rock and hard place" since they're dealing with a customer and corporate office. My frustration is not directed at the employees or management since they did everything they could to rectify the situation. The bad: the ring was so thin when I got it back that when I took it to a different jeweler to try and get it re-engraved, it was too thin to do anything with and the structural value of the ring was gone. The other jeweler recommended a complete melt and rebuild. Thank God I have insurance and they "totaled" my wedding ring and replaced it. That being said, take your jewelry elsewhere ESPECIALLY if you have a lab grown diamond in your ring. The corporate jeweler doesn't care about the quality or composition of their work and will send you back a ring that's so thin and worn that it needs to be replaced. read more

I really liked the Fred Meyers Jewelry location in Port Orchard, WA because it was very clean, organized and the Manager, Mike was SUPERB. I had come in several times trying to decide on the exact size chain I wanted to purchase. Mike was always very friendly, professional and happy to help in any way he could. I had been to a different location and they took absolutely forever to do the paperwork for Progressive leasing. Inside the Fred Meyers supermarket in Port Orchard, WA. the Manager Mike knew exactly what he was doing and processed the purchase in less than 10 minutes! Devon, one of the Sales Consultants was so nice and was very good at her job. As a result, I bought another ring! I also find their prices are very reasonable, and highly recommend them! read more

The customer service at this location is just horrible. We bought my engagement ring and wedding band here, and after a few of the diamonds fell out of my engagement ring, we brought it in to get it replaced (we have the extended warranty) they told us it might take up to 3 weeks to find the right diamonds. They called us a few days later to tell us it was ready. The 2 diamonds they replaced it with look HORRIBLE. They do not shine at all, I'm convinced they are not real diamonds because they look so bad and so different from the rest of the diamonds in my ring. When we brought it back in, the girl working rudely told us there is nothing they can do about it. Today I came in to get my ring cleaned and stood there for close to 10 mins without anyone even acknowledging me. One girl wasn't doing anything and saw me standing there for a few minutes and said "I'm gonna clock out" and walked away. My cleaning would have taken her less than a minute. Customer service obviously is not their specialty. Makes me sad that I bought my wedding band there when I could have supported a better business. read more

Given misinformation regarding a ring I brought in to resize. The jeweler made a recommendation and the message was left in a voicemail. I called back to ask for more information. No answer, called twice in a day with hours in between. Finally just drove to store and associates couldn't understand jewelers notes. I asked to just resize and not any other service. Two days later (the day the actual resize was to take place), I called to confirm that my ring will be ready for pick up the next day (as initially promised). Only to be told that because I declined the recommendations by the jeweler, that he isn't comfortable performing any service. If I didn't call, would he had done the resizing WITH the recommendations that I didn't approve? Or...? Overall, an irritating experience. read more

I brought my new engagement ring to Port Orchard Fred Meyer Jewelers to be resized last month. After picking it up & comparing the two rings that were identical prior to dropping them of at P.O.F.M.J. I noticed right away the resized ring is noticeably thinner, the color of the gold is darker, and it has surface indentations all over as well (it looks like a tiny hammer indentations). We are most concerned about how thin it is now! We have before and after pictures that show these differences. I brought the two rings back to the store on 3/6/14 to show in person that the rings width had been altered. The manager at P.O.F.M.J. David first spoke with an outside custom jeweler and his district manager to fix the ring or replace it. Today 3/28/14 he called and tried to convince us over the phone that the rings were different in width when I brought them in & he can do nothing for me after ruining my new engagement ring and this is completely unacceptable. We find this almost incomprehensible that you would treat customer this way and ruin something so sacred in the process. read more
