The installation of a new system at our recently purchased 1970's ranch house was not a straightforward or simple install. There were a lot of moving parts and replacing the existing all electric system in the attic to a propane/electric system in the basement was not an easy task. Everyone involved with the sales & install at Frederick Air was incredibly patient and informative. Jason in sales & then Brian, John and Brandon for install were outstanding. Everyone listed here played a big part in making this new install successful. Jason was the first interaction we had with Frederick Air & left us at ease that this install could be successful & provided valuable opinions on the options. He proceeded to answer endless emails on follow-up questions and concerns and followed through with all items to ensure the install was successful. Brian was beyond helpful in designing the layout and provided expert guidance to his install team. He also answered numerous questions via phone, email and text messages and gave us all the information we needed quickly to work with our contractor on getting things lined up to ensure the system could be installed. The design was not easy but we felt confident the end product would be well worth the investment. John & Brandon spent days at our property doing the actual install. Both of them were polite & beyond helpful with the endless questions and getting everything installed 100% to our satisfaction. They had a huge job ahead of them and worked in cold weather to get the job done, not to mention having to climb around in the attic to dissemble the old unit & install new duct work & vent through our roof. I honestly don't know all the other work that was involved but I do know they worked every day diligently and with positive energy. Not to mention they dealt with the ongoing other renovations occurring at our house without batting an eye. Having the new system 100% working now as designed is simply AMAZING. This new system works exactly as promised. We had a few moments of doubt while we waited for all parts to come together such as the new propane/gas install, new thermostat to get set-up, whole house dehumidifier to work as designed, manual dampers to control the 2 levels, whole house fan to operate on constant low (it is silent!) and to see it now operate so efficiently, quietly and warmly is amazing. Buying the Bryant Evolution gas furnace, Evolution Connex Control Thermostat, and Aprilaire dehumidifier were well worth the investment. We moved to Frederick, MD in December 2016. WGL brought natural gas down our street this summer and we decided to convert from oil heat to gas, and to replace both our HVAC system and switch out our electric stove to natural gas. We had 2 estimates from installers that for one reason or another didn't sit quite right with us. One company tried to convince us that going with a high efficiency system would be a mistake. Then it was suggested that we call Frederick Air. I called and Dave Schmidt answered the phone and I was struck by how pleasant and knowledgable he came across compared to his two competitors I had spoken to previously. Two days later Dan Cline, himself a master plumber, came to our house ,on time, took a series of measurements, analyzed our ductwork, and with no pressure, educated us and discussed our options regarding available systems. Dan called a gas plumber to come and determine the best way to pipe into our kitchen for the stove. The plumber came within a half hour. Dan then gave us an all inclusive price for a high efficient system and we made a decision to go with them. A couple of days later a team of Frederick Air installers came and modified some ducts and installed the new system. Everybody they sent was very pleasant, professional, and left the place perfectly neat and clean. The next day All Around Plumbers, who Frederick Air subcontracted to run the gas lines, came and installed the necessary piping. After all of the work was completed Dan Cline came back and inspected everyone's work and had a few items that he wanted fine tuned by both installers. Those refinements were done in a prompt and professional manner. So, bottom line, we now have a very quiet Bryant Evolution 2 Stage system installed and running like a finely tuned clock. The new thermostat is on WiFi which monitors the system and will notify both us and Frederick Air if anything is askew. We can also adjust pretty much every setting from our iPhone. All of this was done for about the same price as one of the other estimates we had previously, but we ended up with a far superior system. Additionally, I would also say the customer service from the women I spoke to in the office was friendly and responsive in every way. In conclusion, I would highly recommend the very quality conscious, privately owned Frederick Air to anybody for their HVAC needs, and though I don't know the rest of the sales staff I would expressly ask for Dan Cline. I've been a Frederick Air customer for at least 20 years and have had 2 heat pump system upgrades and an installation of a min-split HP system, all by Frederick Air. All my systems have had a service contract associated with them via Frederick Air too. I've even recommended Frederick Air to neighbors, friends, and colleagues all of whom have had systems installed by them. Over the years, I've had a few system maintenance issues (replacement compressor, motherboard, etc.) handled by them. Every issue has handled perfectly, quickly and professionally. This past weekend, Saturday morning, 7/26, I experienced a major issue, i.e., failed indoor air handler fan motor. As a result, no air conditioning in 90 plus degree weather. Both my wife and I are in our upper 70s so existing without AC is a burden as well as unhealthy at our ages, to say the least. I immediately contacted Frederick Air. Due to being a weekend, the answering service took a message and said a Frederick Air representative would contact me withing 15 minutes. Frederick Air on-call technician, Bruno L, called me to discuss the issue. Bruno arrived later that afternoon to evaluate the motor and perform diagnostics, which proved it was nonfunctional. He did not have that specific motor on his vehicle and would have to check if Frederick Air had one in stock. Since he has other service calls to make that day he would have to check at their warehouse the next day, Sunday. He called me on Sunday indicating the warehouse did have the model motor needed for my system, and he would return and install. Once that was completed, my system was up, running and cooling my house. What impressed me the most was that Bruno took ownership of my issue and the responsibility of ensuring end-to-end service was provided and my issue resolved as quickly and effectively as possible. Conversely, he could have said the warehouse is unmanned on the weekends and I can't check to see if your particular motor is in stick until Monday morning upon normal working days/hours. I'm certainly glad he took the initiative to check himself and get our issue resolved so quickly. This was absolutely outstanding service and both my wife, and I are overcome with gratitude. I came home from the New Year's weekend to a cold, cold house that had ice on the inside of my windows. I went to Home Depot to buy a kerosene stove to get us through the night when they suggested the contractor they use for HVAC repair--Accel Heating and Cooling. A technician comes out the following morning and fiddles with my HVAC unit. (The heat pump was working but the blower was not) He gets it to turn on but then proceeds to tell me that the blower is going to seize up again and that I need a new one but I'll have to have a plumber come out to move my water pipes in order to get the blower out which will cost a fortune. So, he suggested that if I have to put that much money down then I should consider buying a new system. My system is only 12 years old. I paid a service fee and told him to send me an estimate. I get estimates ranging from $730 (blower not including the plumber I "needed") to $8300 ( a complete Energy Star system with new ductwork). I then called FREDERICK AIR, INC. and they sent out a tech that afternoon who took 5 minutes to diagnose and repair the unit. It was the main wiring harness that just came loose. 5 MINUTES! He didn't even charge us for the repair just the service call. He also informed us that there was nothing wrong with our system, our blower, and even showed us some basic maintenance to prolong the life of our system. This was a company more interested in keeping a customer than selling an $8,000 unit that I didn't need. In the future, I will call Frederick Air, Inc. for my heating and cooling needs. This company employs qualified, honest technicians that are interested in customer care and doing the job right as opposed to making whopping sales at whatever the cost. To fix a dead furnace: Frederick Air - $160 and one day. Our "Trusted" HVAC guys - $2,350 and 8 DAYS. This is not a typo! In my nearly 70 years, Frederick Air is THE most professional, reliable, knowledgeable, caring and ethical HVAC company my wife and I have EVER experienced. Frederick Air will ALWAYS be our HVAC provider. They should be yours too. We learned this the hard way. Quickly, here's what happened... Recently, during our record-setting lows, the furnace stopped working completely. Over 7 days without heat, our "Trusted" heating & AC company sent out two different Technicians 4 times, and then billed us $525 for a furnace that STILL did not work. It got worse. On day eight (8), "Trusted" emailed an 'estimate' of $2,350 to replace the heat exchanger, but earnestly recommended total system replacement - $6,313 (no typos). I needed a second opinion. I called Frederick Air. They were here in two hours. Sonny ran several tests, confirmed the problem and immediately researched the furnace. He found that the heat exchanger was UNDER WARRANTY - BOTH PARTS AND LABOR. Installation 'incidentals' - a gasket, some caulking, etc. were all that was needed - $160 would cover it all. Sonny and his assistant left that afternoon and for the first time in over a week, we were finally warm! "Trusted" NEVER mentioned the word WARRANTY throughout a week of 'Keystone Cops ' type repair work. Yes, unbelievable! This was a tough and chilly but valuable lesson. The day my wife and I moved into our new home our AC had broken. After getting denied the claim from our home warranty, we decided that we had to move forward and find a company to supply us with our new AC. At first, we were horrified at possible prices that we heard from friends and family. However, a friend from our church had recommended that we use Frederick Air. She is someone who we consider reliable so we moved forward for an estimate. Jason came and inspected our unit. Afterwards, he showed us the available options for our house. We were pleased that we could get a new AC and furnace for what we thought was a competitive and fair price. He was very kind and answered all of my questions. Next, Justin came to take measurements (I forgot to mention that I received a call prior to their arrival for every visit; this was a huge help). The measurements were quick and easy. From there we scheduled our installation date. Justin and Alex installed our AC unit; I was impressed, to say the least. They were very professional, kind, and respectful in my home. We recently had Frederick Air install a new HVAC system in our four bedroom house. We have lived in Frederick 34 years, and this is the third system we have had. This company was wonderful! They were extremely professional, thorough, considerate, dependable, and a joy to work with. Dan Cline spent two hours at our house with the appraisal. He wrote up an estimate on his lab top while he was here and explained our options. Unlike other companies, we had an estimate in hand before he left, with no pressure. We chose "zoning" in which each floor in our two level house had its own thermostat. Our second floor with the bedrooms had always been too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Frederick Air solved this problem, and the house has a wonderful even temperature throughout. It took them two days to install an entire new system. John, Shamar, and Chad did the installation. They even put on booties over their work shoes and laid drop cloths throughout the house. Their office staff was very helpful, too. All were polite and professional with great communication skills. On Thursday in a hot July, my wife, who was in the hospital dying with cancer, was scheduled to come home to spend her final days. On Wednesday night my air-conditioning went out. At midnight on Wednesday, a Frederick Air service tech informed me that my compressor had catastrophically failed and would need replaced. I told him the situation with my wife and he said he'd mention it to the service manager the following morning. On Thursday morning at 9 AM I got a call from that service manager at Frederick Air. He told me there would be a crew at my house shortly to install a temporary replacement unit. By noon, the house was cool again and ready for my wife to come home. No words can describe adequately the comfort that this small act of kindness brought to me and my family during this very sad time. Ten days later, my wife passed on to be with the Jesus she's so loved. About a month afterwards I had a new air conditioning System installed by, of course, Frederick Air. Colyn was the service tech who arrived at my home eager to help solve my problem. It was obvious to me from the beginning that Colyn was very qualified, with a high level of expertise. He explained everything in detail as he performed his diagnostic testing and talk through what he thought the problem was. What I originally thought could be a potentially expensive repair ended up to be very reasonable. Colyn explained your maintenance agreement and the benefits to me, so I signed up. If you're in the Frederick area, definitely call these guys! Excellent service, and very knowledgeable techs. This is the 2nd time I've called them for a repair and both times they were able to come out same day and fix the issues with my cooling system. Their receptionist is very polite and efficient to get you to the right person to talk to. I had a problem with a breaker switch, and it was a difficult part to get, but after an hour, he called me back and said he could get one out at the end of the day! The tech, Duane, also gave me advice on how to keep my upstairs cooler. I took his advice and it worked! A+ service for service A+ for efficiency A+ for actually CARING about their customers! We just got a mini-split for our enclosed porch from Frederick Air. The whole process was seamless. Dan Kline was very knowledgeable, professional and had great ideas for where we would put things and explained all the details thoroughly. The price was good (we got 2 other estimates) for a Mitsibishi mini-split. Prior to installation, a nice gentleman came to the house and met with the electrician so that everyone was on the same page. Had my installation done on November 29, 2016 to replace our 27 year HVAC with a new Bryant Evolution Extreme heat pump. I can say that the technicians arrived on time, were courteous, and did what I believe was a superb job installing the equipment. Prior to the installation date, they offered to provide us with as many space heaters we needed until the unit was installed free of charge. It was cold and raining outside on the install date and they were kind enough to protect our floors and carpeting while doing their work. Moved into a house in Frederick from Philly. Day One: half of our mini-split systems weren't working! On a hot day in July, perfect for hauling tons of boxes through an unfamiliar house, all the way to the third floor where it was easily over 100.
