At the end of April, 2024 I hosted a welcome dinner for my son and his fiancé. We had 75 guests and everyone had a wonderful time. The event was from 5:30 to 8:30 and provided food and self poured drinks for the guests. Food was great and everyone liked the variety. Mike and Audi were wonderful and so easy to work with. The event was a buffet and there was plenty of staff to assist guests with food and beverage. It was a beautiful evening so the garage door was open which enhanced the atmosphere. My son and fiancé were so happy and Frederick Social was totally their style for the Welcome dinner. read more

came here with a group of friends (~12) after the First Saturday festival featuring Indonesia. entered and was greeted by the cashier who explained all the rules easily. love the concept, never been to a place like this before. use the card easily, the drinks weren't too expensive, and i liked the ability to choose whichever drink I liked. i personally like buffet style places, so i love that liquor stores are turning into this! bathrooms kinda had a line in front of them, they're individual bathrooms which kinda took longer but they're definitely clean. took one star off because they boast that you can play games, but with a crowd of about 20 young adults, there were no board games that really appealed to us unfortunately. overall rating: 4.5/5! definitely coming back kinda pricey, but worth it for me with how organized the whole thign was (and avoiding rude servers that take forever to bring alcohol with large groups sometimes) read more

We probably came a bit close to the end of the day and they were doing trivia. We were a bit confused as to how this worked but essentially, you walk into the front and if you are looking to start a tab with regards to the draft drinks you leave a credit card with the host/hostess. To order food (at least when we went) you were suppose to go to the bar and order from them. We got here closer to the kitchen closing so there were not many choices. We had the pup so we opted to sit outside at the picnic tables. There are outdoor games (connect 4 comes to mind) as well as some indoor games. The day we were there there was apparently trivia night so they had that going as well. Food was good but it is after all a bar so the menu was pretty limited - we wish we could have gotten more but we also understand. This in my mind was a great concept and we may try it again in the future but as I dont drink much i dont know that I would get here a lot. read more

The vibes here are amazing! I love the live music. Last time I was there it was a Puerto Rican musical group. The music was great and there were several groups dancing. I love the self pour concept where you can try anything you want. The only thing I would change is that I wish there were more wine/cider/cocktails for the non-beer groups and sometimes the prices are quite a bit high. read more

Don't go for the food. Some friends and I stopped in for lunch and a drink. The wall of booze is pretty cool and our drinks were good...but...we ordered food. Some came out cold, others didn't come out at all. Of what we got, the French fries were so-so, the Caprese salad was literally spinach, a handful of cherry tomatoes and some mozzarella...for $11. What a great concept!! Loved the variety of drink options...from cocktails to wine to beer. The bbq nachos are a must! If you have kids, this is your place!!! They have a huge corner with tons of toys, games, etc. it looks like there may be outdoor seating in the warmer weather. The owners are super sweet too! Will definitely be coming back! read more

My fiends and I brought our kids around 2:30 on A Wednesday, the staff was friendly and accommodating to our gaggle of kids. The drinks were fun to try and easy. The kids were very entertained by the play area. We got the brussels spouts, sliders, and Parmesan truffle fries. The food was great except for the fries were a little lackluster for $6. There was just a seasoning sprinkled on them that wasn't exactly parm or truffles and no dipping sauce. The rest of the food was great though. The sliders came with a side salad and the Brussels were cooked perfectly and had a dipping sauce. We enjoyed our time and will definitely be back. read more

They have excellent planners and staff that make the event wonderful. The catering menu is delicious, and the space is perfect for a large crowd but still cozy and intimate. read more

Neat spot off of Citizens lane. It's a decently new business that runs parallel to Carroll Creek. As you enter, you approach the service desk where you get a pour your self card. The card gets attached to a credit card and then you are good to get beer, mixed cocktails and other drinks. Different sized glasses and styles of glassware to enjoy your drink from. You are charged by the ounce. There ambiance is pretty nice too. There was a tv and music and a ton of places to sit and relax. There is also a menu that is pretty extensive. Tried three items. It's nacho business, pretzel bites and tenders were the go to last night when I went. If people don't know about this spot yet, it definitely won't disappoint so go check them out. Also, if you have kids there is an area for children... so that could be something fun for you and them. Everyone wins! read more

I'm going with a 4 because I didn't have any food. So for this purpose it's a four out of four. I love the concept and the selection of drinks on tap is awesome. The staff seemed so pleased with how everything was going and were more than helpful. The beer selection is excellent and having it available on Untapp'd is great. I appreciate that they are featuring local beers and drinks along with offering ones I don't see too often. It's clean, comfortable and done really well. Let me start by saying, I love supporting local businesses especially new ones in downtown Frederick but this was a disappointment. Restaurant week is one of my favorites and there are always so many good restaurants to pick from. I am not happy with my choice to give this place a shot. The restaurant week menu sounded good.. but it wasn't. Upon entering the restaurant we were confused on where to go and how this all worked. We finally asked someone who told us to pick a table and order at computer when ready. We did that, he helped and to be honest, I don't like when places ask for a tip prior to the meal/service. Anyways, the menu stated 3 courses but we were told 2 for lunch... okay. We waited 35 mins and finally asked where are food was. There were only 3 other people in the entire place but the answer we got was that they were understaffed. We had to ask twice for our food and when it came out it was what my friend called "insignificant." The chips/guacamole.. bland and the wrong shade of green. The antipasto salad, decent but blah. The kale chickpea salad overwhelming seasoned with cumin and not good. And the cheese platter.. inedible. And keep in mind, all of the food ordered was cold food, nothing needed to be cooked. Which makes waiting almost 45 mins ridiculous. The nice woman behind the counter asked for feedback and we gave it, the man on the floor didn't appear invested in customers or providing good service. So there it is.... A brutally honest review for Frederick Social. I hope the beer is better at this place and I hope they get it together since the location is wonderful. Good luck. read more

A co-worker and I went to try out their lunch. First off, the atmosphere is great. Nice high ceilings and open windows facing the creek. The problem starts with everything else. We walk in at noon on a Friday to find the place empty. I'm getting the feeling lunch isn't there thing. Being carnivores we were looking for meat options. Very few of their menu options come with meat. I'm not sure why they don't just present a "add protein" option to all of their sandwiches or salads. We asked for brewed ice teas and were told they didn't have any. The cashier opens a small fridge next to her and presents us with cans of san pellegrino. After ordering I gave her a credit card then she flips the display for a tip. I added 20%. More on this later. We sat down for a while then realized our food didn't come. Turns out they leave it up at the cashier counter for us to pick up. We had the tacos, mozzarella salad, brussel sprouts, and pretzel bites. Everything was mediocre at best. We then proceeded to leave and were told we had to bus our own table. They have this complex bussing station where we basically need to break down everything on our trays. In hindsight, I wouldn't have given a 20% tip for this amount of service. As we are leaving, it is now close to 12:45pm and still not a single other patron has arrived. In comparison to other places I've been, this place should learn from other established places like Tryst in Washington DC or even Nola down the street. At least provide more coffee, tea, and soft drink options to attract people that might want to hang out and surf the internet during business hours. read more
