Bought a new microwave and gas stove a month ago from Fredericks to support local businesses... the sales guy suggested buying GE appliances so we took his suggestion and bought the exact models he recommended .. it's been less than a month since my appliances were installed and my microwave stopped working today. When I called them they were extremely rude and asked me to call GE instead and told me they have no liability and can't do anything to help me! When I asked them about lack of customer service and told them about Amazon's customer service as an example, they said I should have bought it from Amazon then! When I called GE on the other hand, they were extremely courteous and empathetic and are going to send someone to fix it ASAP.. well so much for trying to support local businesses! read more

We've purchased a refrigerator, a cooktop and a microwave from Frederick's Appliance Center over the past few years as our existing appliances die and need to be replaced. We've always received great service (shout out to James!). The microwave and refrigerator were easy to put in place, but our cooktop was a bit dicey to find a replacement for, as the opening was determined by the slab granite's existing cutout, and we have a hidden ventilation system (no overhead hood). James helped us determine which models would work with our limiting perimeters, and we were able to view them in their showroom. The installation process was coordinated by Frederick's by another company and the install was completed professionally and efficiently. We love our new cooktop. read more

I have done business with Fredericks for years - so historically I have been a supporter of this local business. But I have to agree with other reviews here that this company has went downhill. I have had two recent situations with Fredericks where there management made commitments to me that they did not fulfill and deliver on. In one instance I was quoted an install price for a new Bosch dishwasher of $100 + tax (they were running a half off sale) and when the contracted installer put in the dishwasher I ended up paying $70 more than I was quoted. This was frustrating and sadly the rep who sold me that dishwasher did nothing to compensate me for the difference. The latest encounter happened over their recent appliance warehouse sale where I found a standalone modular Thermador freezer and was quoted a certain price in store by the owner and the next day the owner pretended like he had zero recollection of that price and he ended up asking for hundreds more than what he committed to in store. I walked from that deal. I like to transact with businesses I can trust. I don't have that trusting feeling with Fredericks anymore. read more

We need to replace our refrigerator after 25 years and so it's a big deal for us. We called a few places for info, but none were as responsive as Fredericks, specifically Gregg Hanson. He asked more questions than anyone else did, which showed his knowledge and his respect for having the right outcome for the customer. I don't impress easily but this totally impressed me! Of course, now we wait for about 8 months for the refrigerator to become available, but that would have been true no matter where we bought it. read more

You will probably think I am getting paid, or I am a relative or something. I promise you that I am not either. In 2018 I wrote a review praising this company for making good on a leaking dishwasher that most likely was not their fault. The manufacturer accepted no blame so the owner stepped up and made things right. Because of that we recently upgraded our cook top to a Wolf and our wall oven to a GE Cafe with the French doors. We of course went to Frederick's Appliance Center to get that done. The sales person was Alex Cook. We were very pleased with all of the options that Alex provided at their well equipped show room in Redmond. I had done a lot of research online and I was surprised that they had every manufacture's products that I was interested in. Alex was very professional and spent a considerable amount of time making sure we were comfortable with our selections. Alex was well versed in every product and there wasn't any question he could not answer. Their very long time employee Charlie Rowan came to our house to measure to insure that our replacement selections would work. We were happy when Charlie said very few modifications were required. Alex then told us that the Wolf and GE were both in stock and the installation was scheduled for today 5/24/2019. They have several installers, but we were pleased when Charlie arrived right on time to perform the installations. That including the removal of the older units and the installation of the Wolf and GE took around 3 hours. Charlie had to cut about 3/8" of the island tile to make the Wolf unit fit. I watched him do that and you could tell that it wasn't Charlie's first rodeo. Everything Charlie did was first rate including the incredible amount of attention he gave to every detail including the cleanup process. We are delighted with two new products as they look fantastic and both have many super features. wanted to try and support local business so went with Fredericks. arrived and was assisted by Mark. he seemed to know the washer and dryers pretty well - certainly more than your average Best Buy kid. that's where any positive experience ended. should have known better when after 45 minutes of conversation and repeatedly saying which unit wanted to purchase - he came back with a quote for an upgraded model. this felt like this was a contrived sales tactic to move a more expensive item but I didn't want to surrender to cynicism; mistakes can happen. he finally came back after a long while and said the model I wanted only had the washer in stock and the matching dryer would need to be ordered from CA. this was the around the middle of aug 2021. despite the month long wait still elected to buy - including adding additional insurance to the tab. Mark swore he'd be on top of it. called 10 days out from from the approx receive date after hearing nothing from the shipper - and mark confirmed nothing has been shipped - but mentioned nothing about specific inventory - just give it some time. finally after again hearing nothing - called back and spoke to mark. he now claimed that the washer was out of stock, seemed confused about any previous conversations to the contrary and just made up a bunch of stuff that bore no resemblance to anything he had assured me. but he said - fear not - he'd get on the horn with LG and his warehouse and straighten it all out. given his relative lack of memory - I was not encouraged - and after unsuprisingly not getting any call back - reached out again. this time he said - well - we'll just have to wait since the washer is out of stock and cannot be obtained before middle to late oct. I was livid since these units needed to be delivered to a new house and all of this was lined up well in advance. throughout - mark was unapologetic, inattentive, acted angry at my frustration - and made up still further excuses and delay tactics. finally asked for a refund and mark went back his salesman deception including; 1. no, you paid with a MC but I had the receipt that stated Visa; 2. ooops, refund not working, you need to come into the store to issue refund (till I asked for manager and he miraculously figured out how to 'manually override' ) 3. and oh wait - I am really busy now I'll get to the refund later and let you know. after angry persistence - and still no apology - mark managed to issue the refund and at explicit insistence - did so sans restocking fee. sadly, rather than supporting a local business - I ended up having to opt for Costco who offered a shipping date just a week out, and I saved about 400 bucks in the process (including shipping, and insurance). YMMV but if you take the risk of shopping for something here - ask to speak with anyone but Mark (who struggles to make new memories and has an endless parade of ready made old-school salesman BS from which to draw upon). read more

I suggest looking elsewhere if you are not the kind of person who can afford SubZero or Viking or any other top-dollar appliances. We came in looking for much less expensive items, and there was virtually nothing to see. A package of lower-cost appliances was put together for us, but when I checked the manufacturer suggested retail prices on each one when I got home, Fredericks's prices were all $20 to $50 more on each one of them, so I was certainly puzzled as to why they thought this was a "discount package." I also thought it was kind of funny that the salesperson only spoke to my husband and shook his hand farewell, considering that I'm the one who cooks, researched the appliances, and was driving the whole appliance-buying thing :D read more

Then remembered Fredericks in Redmond! Was not disappointed at all! Good feeling from the moment walking in, dealt with sales person, Greg Hanson. We drive ninety minutes to reach Fredericks, because it was the only store in the area with a fully-outfitted showroom. The sales rep, Alex, took lots of time explaining the functions and strengths of each brand. He was knowledgeable and forthright about comparing different brands and never pressured us in any way. Purchased a double oven from them and the sales man said the $300 installation fee is worth it because his crew will do a better job than the 'bestbuy contractors'. Well, after installation, we have noticed that the kitchen cabinet drawers touch the oven edge upon opening. The salesman was quick to blame it on me saying that I have chosen it, so it is me to blame that Frigidaire's oven is wider than the spec. Every time the cabinet drawer opens and touches the oven, it reminds me of Frederick's Appliance Center's sloppy job I had to pay $300 for. As for a replacement, he obviously won't do any price match this time and would charge me another $300 for installation - no thank you. read more

My only complaint is that I bought an extended warranty through Fredricks, and of course now our dishwasher is broken and the warranty company is super-slow in even getting back to me. The sudden demise of our 25-year-old Kenmore dryer sent us shopping for a new washer & dryer. A visit to a large appliance store in Bellevue left us confused and tired. Then we went to Frederick's and were greeted by James, who helped us figure out what we wanted [a lot has changed in laundry appliances in the last quarter-century] without a lot of sales talk. He answered all our questions (looking up answers he didn't know), and we finally decided on a pair of Electrolux front loaders that were priced $450 below the MSRP. James promised delivery the next day, and within 24 hours they were installed in our laundry room and the old machines whisked away. We're now enjoying the use of a modern washer and dryer. This isn't our first purchase from Frederick's. Back in 2002 we bought our Bosch dishwasher from them--which is still going strong. read more

Everything was great (price match) up until the day before delivery.... Sure, we could have ordered it from the big box store and already had it delivered but decided to wait an extra 1.5 weeks buying from local business. Our refrigerator was supposed to be delivered tomorrow and today the sales guy called and said "somehow priority were given to other orders and ours didn't made the truck...", then he called back later to said that the refrigerator we wanted is on back-order. Working on those information, we called another store and bought the same refrigerator we wanted and arranged for delivery early next week, Called Frederick Appliance Center and told them to cancel our order, and he said "oh a Samsung truck just came in, can you give me a minute, we may have extra inventory". No! We just ordered from another company based on the information you gave us 30 mins ago that fridge we wanted is on back order. "Okay, I will issue refund".... CLICKED! He just hung up the phone on us! Well, living up to the company's slogan - indeed, it's not just business, it is personal! Maybe better luck next time? P.S. Although James Te had to step in on the day our sales person (yep, told him to change email address on file, didn't happen; emailed him, no respond) was absent and was really efficient and polite. read more

Range Hood Installed crooked. Installer didn't know what he was doing. The response from the installer and his supervisor was unprofessional, RUDE and unacceptable. We paid $150.00 installation fee for installation of a range hood crooked. Swearing was included for free. After the installation I called Fredericks and they had the same RUDE Installer call me. He basically told me that he can't fix it because my cabinets are custom. Whatever. They were custom made to FIT the range hood I purchased. Then he got mad and hung up on me. Unbelievable!! The installation supervisor called me and we discussed what can be done. He said that we should install tile beneath the hood. Really who the heck is going to spend $100 on tile that no one will ever see. He asked if we wanted to hire another guy and spend more money on what first installer didn't do right. I said no thanks. Our kitchen remodeler looked at the manual and there is an adjustment that can be made with a screwdriver by adjusting a screw and pulling range out. The installer doesn't know what he is doing. The sales staff is kind and thoughtful. They ask questions that really help you figure out what is right for you. I love that they encourage you the bring food in and try cooking on the appliance before purchasing so you know you are making the right choice. I couldn't find a way to respond to the owners reply so I write this as an update. I also changed my review from one star to two stars because the salesman offered a decent amount of helpful information when I was making the selection. One more star to give him the credit. But, here is what I want to point out to the Owner: 1. In your reply you kept mentioning Samsung fridge. It was not a Samsung fridge. It was a LG. Please double check the facts. 2. As I said in replying to the owner's private message, I agree that there was no *intentional* misleading actions, and I agreed to change my original comment to take out anything that implies that. What I want to say to the owner is: Definitely you should do a better job providing more accurate information, at least about your own inventory. I was told in the store that you have it in your warehouse that can be shipped to me immediately, which lead me to make the purchase, which turned out to be completely wrong. There is no Samsung or LG you can blame for this one. It is your OWN warehouse and your OWN inventory system, and you should have known whether you have it in stock or not. Later I was told that very likely it will arrive in 3 weeks, which turned out to be far from being correct either by another 20 more days of waiting. (I can understand this one though, because it was LG doing the shipping and you have no control over it) Other stores around provided much more ACCURATE information upfront telling me that they would not be able to get one for me until end of June. Again, I agree and I believe you did NOT mislead me intentionally, but you need to do a better job providing more accurate information, at least about your OWN inventory. read more

Walked in here after I was unable to get helped at Albert Lee's (was told a salesperson would be right with me, waited 10 minutes, and left without being helped, and they weren't busy). Was greeted immediately and shown back to the washer and dryers by James. After a few minutes of discussion I got a great deal on a Samsung W/D set. James then explained that it would be about a week for delivery and made sure that I received my PSE rebate forms. Yesterday morning I splurged and purchased the store display Kamado Big Joe. I asked the sales guy if they could take it apart so I can take it home in my SUV. I said I'll be back in a few hours. When I came back he suggested that they deliver since it's really heavy. We live in Lake Stevens and the special delivery fee was the cost of a large pizza. The offer was too good to be true. Today they arrived on time and then offered to carry it onto my back deck. This thing weighs at least 300-lbs. We're so grateful for the delivery guys!!! Fredericks is good at closing the sale, but their treatment of customers post-sale is horrible. We experienced poor communication, a "customer is never right" attitude, and no sort of compensation or compromise for an error that was ultimately the store's fault. We gave them many, many chances to make things right with us, but we were always treated like the bad guys. We purchased all new appliances for a kitchen remodel in June. We price compared at several locations, but ultimately went with Fredericks because we felt their sales staff treated us the best. Our salesperson was friendly and quick to answer follow-up questions via phone and email. And the store matched and/or beat all competitor prices. We purchased close to $10K worth of appliances and paid our balance in full on the day of purchase. We were told we could have the appliances delivered the following week, but since we were in midst of a remodel, we didn't need them for 2-3 weeks so we booked a further out delivery date. This is when all the problems began. On our scheduled delivery date was 7/8, and a few days before delivery, our salesperson called us to tell us our oven and downdraft would be a week delayed to 7/15. This was a bit inconvenient since - when we agreed to the purchase - we had been told everything was in stock and could have been delivered sooner than 7/8, but things happen so we were understanding. By the morning on 7/15, we had received no communication about the delivery of the oven and downdraft so we called the store. After being promised few times that someone would call us back, we finally talked to the warehouse manager who told us both appliances had been further delayed with an ETA of late July. Our salesperson never called us in advance to inform of this change, and since our contractors were literally waiting to install the appliances, it was a major inconvenience. (Had we been notified in advance of the delay, we may have been able to make alternate arrangements.) The sales manager said he would look into speeding up this timeline - and again, we were very polite about the mix-up, to the point that another salesperson even said we were being "more patient and polite" than she would be given the situation. The next day we were told there was no way to speed up the delivery of either item, but then oddly, our oven was available and delivered a couple days later. Again, no clear communication of why the story changed 3 times. Simultaneously, our contractor was installing the other appliances and discovered we purchased the wrong microwave for our space. (I accept blame for this but also think the salesperson should have helped catch our mistake.) I called our salesperson to see if they carried the microwave we needed. They didn't - so I bought it from another dealer. A couple days later when talking to Luke - the sales manager - about our delayed downdraft, I told him I needed to return the microwave and its $95 trim package. He told me they would take the microwave back but not the trim because they had difficulty selling trim inventory. He told me he would deduct $95 off the purchase of another microwave to make up the difference, but when I told him I had already tried that approach and had to buy a microwave from a different dealer, he told me there was nothing more he could do and even stated, "We should write off that expense and credit you, but we won't." When I appealed to him again - citing all the other problems we'd experienced (that we were never compensated for), he said he made the rules and wouldn't break them. Later, I wrote an email to our salesperson, asking her to take my case to the owner and reminding her that we had been very easy-going so far with all the other problems and were simply trying to make it even with the $95 unopened return. But we were tersely told no. I understand stores have policies, but ours was not a black and white case, and I would have expected a store like Fredericks to compromise a little to make us happy again. Meanwhile, our downdraft continued to be delayed week after week - and we would only find out the new date when we called the store directly. No one ever contacted us proactively. We were even told it was ultimately backordered and delayed because of Fredericks' error! When we ordered it, it was in stock - but since we didn't need our appliances immediately, the store didn't place the order immediately, and by the time they did, it was backordered. 2 1/2 months after placing our order, we finally received our downdraft. But to add insult to injury, we received an invoice for the $800 downdraft we had already paid for! Our salesperson resolved this issue quickly, but again it was another poor communication and mistake by the staff that shouldn't have happened - especially after everything we went through. After all this, the store never attempted to make anything up to us - and we're still out $95 for unopened trim. read more

We just bought a new home with very challenging washer/dryer closet dimensions. A friend recommended Frederick's because they offer builder pricing and friendly service... and I couldn't be more pleased with the help we received from Rebecca! She was extremely patient and willing to listen to our specific needs. She had plenty of recommendations and was as knowledgeable as one can be about appliances! She was also just a nice person. No sales pressure, and definitely was not bothered by the fact that we were not looking to buy that day. If only all salespeople were this way... :) We love to support locally owned, family run businesses - and it's an added bonus when they offer you the best prices and actually know what they are talking about. If you are in the market for any appliance, definitely check this place out... and don't be put off by the homely appearance of their storefront (it just saves us money)! read more

We purchased all our appliances for our kitchen remodel in 2009. Loved the prices (they beat all the other stores we checked) and they even held them when we had a timing set-back in the remodel. We've also (until recently) ordered all our parts here too. Unfortunately they've moved their parts out to a 3rd party and you need to know the parts numbers in order to order the filters or other parts. That's really inconvenient' so I'll be ordering parts online instead. If not for the parts issue, I'd definitely give them a 4.5 star rating. Without parts now, it gets a 3. read more

Ken was a fantastic sales associate who really took the time to discuss all of my questions when I came into Frederick's. He went the extra mile to help me, even when he learned that I was trying to remodel my kitchen as inexpensively as possible. He helped me find a great deal on a single wall oven in their clearance center, which was delivered today. The man who installed it was careful, courteous, and creative when the existing opening turned out to be slightly larger than it should have been. In the past few years I've bought a fridge and washer/dryer from Fredericks, both great experiences. When my fridge went out, Fredericks had a great deal on a Samsung fridge but it would take a week - so they brought in a loaner for me. Then I discovered the difference between counter depth and full depth fridges - they swapped it out for an LG that fit. Totally no fuss. I recently got a washer and dryer there, LG front loader stacking. I price shopped Home Depot and Best Buy - Fredericks was better. Delivery guys were great, in fact it was the same guy who delivered my fridge a few years ago. They stuck around to ensure everything was working and gave me a few tips on the unit. I don't get how anyone could fault their selection - they have everything from Amana to Wolf (I haven't found a Z brand appliance). Looking for a deal? Just check their clearance center. While I hope I don't have any more appliances to replace soon, if if do, I'm going right back to Fredericks. read more

Excellent service from the entire Frederick's team (sales and installation). We contacted Fredericks about replacing our downdraft ventilation. Charlie came out to take measurements and determine which downdraft would work best. A few weeks later Charlie came out to install the unit. Not only did Charlie install the new unit but even improved the vent connections and fit of the cooktop and downdraft appliances. Very professional and courteous. read more

We purchased a Fridge and Dishwasher at Fredricks Appliance. Working with a local company was really important to us because we have been burned by big box retailers far to many times. Purchase and installation went great, super easy, on time, respectful of our home. 2 weeks after install our dishwasher developed a leak. I called Fredericks and the salesman who picked up the phone was out to fix it within 12 hours from the call. I was so impressed. The salesman who fixed it, Ken Mitchell, to be clear was not the salesperson who sold us the set. When I called there was no "Oh it's not my problem you need to talk with your salesperson," BS. Ken picked up the phone, listened to my problem, walked me though turning off the water to stop the leak until he could get out to repair it (cross threaded water supply). Came out when he promised, addressed the problem and was out the door in 10 minutes, dishwasher fixed. We were looking for a replacement fridge for our home. We went to the big box stores and first take a look. Staff came up and then asked if she could help us we said yes and then she walked away. We immediately headed over to Fredricks Appliance Center Redmond where we have bought previously and were greeted immediately by Alex. UPDATE: I'm updating my original review. After the review, the owner reached out and was very helpful in timely solving the issue. My update is to four stars instead of five only because some balls were dropped initially and it would have been nice to have a smoother resolution of the problem. However, I appreciate the owner's response. I'm very satisfied with the outcome and will continue to use and recommend Fredericks. I've been loyal to Fredericks over the years. No longer. I bought a GE Profile gas range that stopped working six days after install. I have called consistently for three days to schedule a repair, which is pretty urgent given the holidays rapidly approaching. No one bothers to call back. I guess they have my money so there's no need to help get a brand new range working. Super disappointing. Hosting Christmas dinner without an oven should be fun. Might as well go to the big box stores if Fredericks doesn't care about customer service. read more
