These guys happen to be the only one in town to purchase certain appliances and this puts them into an "I don't give a ****" mentality. A take it or leave it approach which really puts the customer in a terrible situation after spending thousands of dollars. Furthermore, they work with J&J installers who are by far the worst people on earth, and will not buy from Freds just based on their use with J&J alone. I would rather purchase an appliance in Seattle and drive it out her just to avoid these people, meaning Freds and J&J. Surprised not much has changes with so many bad reviews. I'm just another disappointed customer. Spokane needs to step up its options. Someone out there could really capitalize on this situation. If someone else in the area could pick up a contract with certain high end appliances, the competition might bring everyone down a notch. read more

Bought a Meile Dishwasher from Freds, it broke within 3 months. I have tried to deal with their service department who will only say they will call us back but never do. Freds told me that as they are a distrubutor there is nothing they can do, we just have to wait a further MONTH or more to get a part. As they are a distributor they can sell faulty products and not repair or replace them in a timely manner. Freds will not talk to the manufacuter so you are stuck in a hold nightmare, call the manufacuter they want information from Freds, call Freds (3 or 4 times) finally get a some information, call Meile, they want more info, call Freds again..... read more

We've been trying to get a one year old dishwasher repaired going on two months and technician comes out and has to order parts and then you are out for more weeks before they can/will get you scheduled. The schedule acts like they are doing you a favor and there is no discussion. I bought an induction stove elsewhere and had a bad experience with the stove, with delivery and installation. I returned that stove and called Fred's, and they had a new induction stove installed within 3 days, yay! They took their time leveling it, showing me how to use it, and explained that I needed to set the oven to bake for about an hour to burn off a protective coating, not explained by the previous installers. We purchased a refrigerator back in Dec 2021 - what a MISTAKE! I will never again purchase a Kitchen Aid, mod# KRMF706ESS04 (French Door w/ two produce drawers); only saving grace, we did pay for the extended warranty. What's gone wrong: door seal x2, in-door water/ice maker, freezer tray fronts fall off, multiple times Fred's Service Techs have attempted to prevent freezing from occurring in the produce drawers and the refrigerator - now there is so much ice buildup, not allowing for air flow the food is spoiling so fast and imagine that, Whirlpool parts needed are on back order. Don't bother to call Whirlpool for help, their automated system doesn't actually give you the option to talk to a human and when you wait on hold - no response, if you opt for a callback - NOPE! The refrigerator is garbage and unfortunately Fred's is doing anything to make the situation better. After so many repair calls, I would have thought they might have been willing to work with us to sort out the problem, but again - NOPE. I've read / heard that appliances nowadays are only expected to last 5-yrs. but since the fridge's service history is so long, I would have appreciated some help. If I could have posted pictures you would have seen the level of ice buildup. Until I took out the two drawers and removed some of the ice, they wouldn't shut all the way - note the "I" removed the drawers and took care of some of the ice buildup, not the "tech" would at the house the day prior. read more

I already left a bad Google review, but I have to leave one on yelp also. Called them about a noisy fan in my brand new refrigerator and they told me it would be weeks before someone could come and fix it. They finally came today to replace it and it's just as noisy as the original one that was in there. It's driving me crazy. Our old refrigerator was extremely quiet. Our brand new dishwasher is horrible, rickety and just overall a plastic piece of junk that doesn't work very well. The oven door was crooked and when we pointed it out, they told us that it seals shut and I guess that's all that matters to them. Apparently, they don't really care how it looks and here is a photo of it. Sorry I can't take a photo of the fan noise! Or show you how badly the dishwasher works. They are all Frigidaire appliances. I have only ever had whirlpool, but the salesman assured me that they were the same. They absolutely are not. Very disappointed in the service department. We purchased a LG refrigerator/freezer less than a year ago and there is a funny taste in the water and ice. I have asked for the service department to check it out twice and called LG C.S and they said to replace the water line with a PEX food grade water line instead of the braided line on Fred's installed. Fred's said they do not install PEX and that I would have to hire a plumber. We called in a plumber, and they said they cannot install a PEX line w/o opening up the wall. Do not buy LG. The one star is for Rueben who finally just fixed my dishwasher after months of waiting. My parents have been customers of Fred's for decades so when it was time to upgrade my dishwasher and stove, of course I went with them. I had to wait almost a full year for the dishwasher and it stopped working properly within the first couple of years. Still under warranty, I called to have it fixed. It took multiple calls, Fred's cancelling on me more than once or just not showing up with no communication, talking with the dispatch, Joey (who wasn't worth a penny), and finally leaving a message for the service manager. The first service guy they initially sent out, Tyson, didn't even run diagnostics and told me a part wasn't clipped in correctly. BS. He was also totally unpleasant. Dishwasher didn't work. More phone calls. A different service tech who actually was able to diagnose the problem, but then didn't show up the day he was scheduled to. Finally today it's fixed, crossing fingers since I actually haven't run a full load yet... If my dishwasher wasn't still under warranty, I would have called and happily paid someone else to fix it. I will never, ever give Fred's my business again. And I will recommend my parents, and you reader, to shop elsewhere! read more

My dishwasher (still under warranty) wasn't draining water so it kept coding. The first service technician said it needed a new water pump and ordered one. The second technician said the water pump was fine but the dishwasher needed a new control panel so he ordered one. He returned weeks later and installed the new control panel. After he left I ran the dishwasher and it coded again. At this point I have been without a dishwasher for almost two months. I called the service department and explained that at this point I wanted a new washer. I was done waiting for parts and service that weren't fixing the problem. I was told they'd have to continue attempting to repair my appliance. I was extremely unhappy with that and wanted to speak with someone who could authorize a replacement washer. One thing I noticed upon repair is they used a refurbished part, why not a new one ? We have been buying appliances from Fred's for over ten years now. Last Jan (2024) we replaced our fridge. In Dec 2024, the thermostat stopped being accurate. It still said 35 as we have always had it set in the readout but the milk was warm and an independent thermometer read 45 (sometimes over 50). So we called the service department and they sent someone out 3 weeks later, who said it was "fine". The guy used his device saying it's accurate if it's not touching anything--discovered it was touching a water bottle, and then DIDNT RETEST. We had to reopen the ticket because the fridge was still sitting at 50 degrees. They sent someone out again who replaced the thermostat, which didn't fix it. We have had people out 3 times since, and they just keep telling us to call Samsung , who tells us we haven't had enough visits (because they keep looking at the falsely closed first ticket and not the second, then go oh I see you have two tickets). It's beyond absurd that they accept that it's not supposed to be at 45 degrees when it's set to 35 (nor the freezer always set to 0 is anywhere between -16 and +20 degrees) but say 45 is within operating temperature (but only if you set it that way) and so it's fine -- sure if we had it set at 45, which is 5 degrees above food-safe storage temperature as per the fda). So they've been dragging their feet and taking 5 months (our next appointment to change out the fans I think is in May), when it was clearly a lemon that needs to be replaced. It was under warranty and only 11 months old when this started. They even said a fridge should last 5-10 years before needing to be replaced. Yet they do not stand behind the products they sell nor care that we have spent thousands of dollars as customers. read more

I'm writing this review for my elderly mother, so the installer messed up, and water leaked in the wall and flooded the basement. The old refrig. had an icemaker and needed to be capped off, so the water to the new refrigerator without an icemaker won't leak, and they didn't do this. This is basic info an installer should have known. The other property, she purchased a refrig. and it was damaged, Fred's didn't return with another one for a few months. There is a reason for all of these bad reviews. I wish I would have seen them before I purchased my washer and dryer. Unfortunately I didn't. The delivery team dropped, yes dropped my washing machine. I didn't realize it at the time, but a part broke off. Fast forward a day later and I contact them because my washing machine doesn't seem to be spinning properly. It takes awhile to get someone out to take a look at the washer. He said that a part has broken off and he will order a replacement and install it when it comes in. Three weeks later he wants to install the new part. They are also going to switch the places of the washer and dryer because the were set up wrong. When they move out the washer there is water underneath the machine. At this point I ask for a new washer because I am concerned about what other damage there is to this washer that was dropped. Their answer to me is no. The reason being because it has been sitting in my house for two months. Well it has been sitting in my house waiting for them to get a part. Oh, and I should not have kept it after they dropped it. My bad. Apparently I should have refused to keep it and sent it back to a company that they hired to make the delivery. Terrible customer service and I feel taken advantage of. We needed a new fridge fast! Chase Braun helped us and he was truly amazing. The refrigerator we wanted was sold out at the warehouse and one wasn't available for two days. However, Chase made multiple phone calls to secure us the fridge we wanted by asking a contractor if he could wait for the next shipment and let us take his fridge. He agreed and we were able to get the fridge and save the contents of our dead one. He is our hero. He went above and beyond and we are truly grateful. read more

We had a custom home built for us last year. We dealt with Steve who was great! We bought all of our appliances through Fred's. It now all began in the aftersales part of our bad experience with Fred's. Our appliances were delivered about a month prior to our move in date. The delivery guys were flat out lazy. They were very reluctant on bringing our large built in fridge inside the house. Where else would the fridge go?? While inspecting the newly delivered fridge we noticed a good sized dent in the top of one of the doors. It was very noticeable as the fridge is stainless steel. We had notified Fred's of the issue and we were told a new fridge panel was on order. We had also noticed our range vent stack had several scratches in it. Several months later a service tech showed up to replace the scratched vent stack. He was a very nice guy, but was clearly not prepared to complete the job. He asked me, the homeowner, if I had a ladder he could borrow to complete the job. I provided him a ladder to finish the job. He was not able to get everything straight with the vent when he completed the job. I had to point out to him to fix it before leaving. He lacked confidence in this repair. Several months later and several phone calls to Fred's the "panel" for our fridge shows up. The same tech from the prior repair shows up with the part. He opens up the box and with a very confused look says this isn't the right part. He asks us if he can store this part in our garage as we will need it when the right part shows up. A month later I had to call again and ask where the part was and was told that it had just come in and to schedule an appointment. This time I was not home and it was just my wife here. This trip (the second for the fridge) two techs show up. One of them being the same guy who has been here before. He shows up again with the incorrect part. He then takes the previous part he left here back. Apparently this part was not needed. I call a week or so later and talk to a "manager" and make sure the correct part was ordered. She stated its the manufacture (Miele) who has sent the incorrect part now 2 times. She said I could call the manufacture and verify with them that the correct part was ordered this time. Would it not be Fred's responsibility to ensure the correct part was ordered?? I requested when the part comes in to make sure the correct part was ordered prior to making another appointment. Again, this is the stainless steel outside skin of the door of the fridge. Not that difficult of something to order and to verify that its the correct part. The same tech who has been here then shows up for the final time (3rd trip for this repair). The tech appeared just as unconfident as before and this job appears to be way over his head. He had to be told the two doors were not flush where they met together after he put the door on. Oh, he also asked again to borrow a step stool to even perform this job. Again, he didn't even have a ladder to use on this job just like the prior hood vent job. After he left the two upper fridge doors were still not flush and the gaps between the doors were not even. The frustrating process in dealing with all of the service visits will lead me to finishing the job on my own. Just like most companies these days, most our great with the sales portion of the experience and then when it comes to the service and aftersales they suck. You would think spending thousands of dollars with a company there would be at least decent service. So after all of this I would not recommend any service to be completed by Fred's read more

Please dear God stay away from Fred's. I wish I could give zero or negative stars. My initial interaction was great, and my wife and I bought a washer and dryer. 2-3 years later, the washer dies and we call in for warranty work since we bought the 500 dollar warranty. It took a month or so of no washer before a tech came out and install the board that failed. We were told the reason it is taking so long is they do not have enough service techs available to get us in faster and they constantly overbook their techs. When the tech installed the part, everything seemed fine but after some use it was found that the tech programmed the board incorrectly and he would have to order a new one. The washer works, ish.... About 2 months later (currently), they have the part and want us to wait another 17 days to get the board replaced again. This is again overbooking the techs if not we have to wait over a month. I have now griped enough that I'm waiting for contact from a manager. I wish I could help these employees more and make a difference but with how I am seeing them treat their employees I doubt any change will actually happen. read more

Beware of fraudulent practices and hidden costs. Receipt said that we prepaid for appliances, install and delivery. When are stove was installed we were charged another $367. The sales person never mentioned the additional cost and the receipt looked like we prepaid for appliances and install. Sales person didn't let us know about additional costs because I suspect he was hoping to make a sale. Also, sales person didn't ask about our configuration for washer and dryer so that the doors would open correctly and there would be the right length of electrical chord. 3 more visits until all the problems were solved. When I called the manager to let him know how misleading his sales receipt and sales people were, he did nothing to remedy the situation. I would not recommend this appliance store.
