Fish sandwich is out of this world.(fresh fresh fresh) blue cheese burger had plenty of bacon and good quality bleau on a fresh brioche bun. Food wasn't bad. Standard bar food. Service was terrible. Our waitress came only when needed, drink order, food order, food delivery, and to drop off check. My drink was never refilled and I really wanted to order a side of sweet potato fries which looked awesome. Problem is I never saw her. Really good food, little pricey I feel like for what it is but food is good and I come here on vacation so I'm usually willing to spend the money. For an appetizer their nachos are excellent, also the grilled cheese and tomatoes with caramelized onions and Gouda cheese is really good. They have some good craft beers also. Only complaint is the service, the past couple times I've been here the service isn't that great, usually pretty slow. read more

Fred's is solid. I went on a Tuesday and had a few beers (maybe 6) and also tried the French dip sandwich. I thought the food came out very fast and was delicious. Bartender was very friendly and the bar had a very nice granite countertop. All in all a great experience. read more

This is not the Fred's I remember from the 90's when it was cool, dark, with a very "vintage" feel. Now it's hip and bright and has awesome food and drink selections. The staff were friendly. I don't know if Andy Capp would fit in here very long. Still proud to wear my shirt around. read more

Absolute worst service I have ever experienced. I came in to get a 6 pack of beer to go and the bartender told me to wait by the doors and the bar back would grab it. I went over and after a few minutes looked at the bartender who then told me I just had to wait and gave me an attitude. The bar was busy but that's no way to treat a patron. I work in the service industry myself and it is never acceptable to treat customers this way! This restaurant hires scumbags. read more

We showed up to the bar very hungry and after we ordered our drinks we decided to start with mozzarella sticks that came out with marinara topped with cheese and parsley!!!! Drinks tasted fantastic and the staff couldn't have been better. The bartender suggest we get the short rib flatbread special and It was amazing! We got takeout beer in the afternoon which I'm drinking right now. The beer store employees were great. We came back at night with a group of 7 to check out the bar. The restaurant side had 4 tables with food but they were apparently closing up. We sat at a table after making eye contact with the bartenders and servers who were just staring at us. The server wandered over several times to help the previously seated tables but decided to ignore us for 10 minutes while we sat and talked. We walked over to see if he wanted to get us drinks and make a quick tip but instead, he awkwardly pointed us towards the bartender. We decided to leave since you'd think 1 of the 6 employees would have come over to tell us the other side of the restaurant was closing. My girlfriend and I went to give Fred's a try. The asian lettuce wraps were quite good as was the cheesesteak and french fries. Unfortunately my girlfriends hamburger was a little bit too well done, but she was starving and ate it anyway. The waitress took the hamburger off the check without us even asking her to. Cool little family tavern. Came in because the wait was too long for pizza across the street. We were seated promptly at a table with a great view of the Eagles game. Server (Mari) was prompt, efficient and courteous. We split the club sandwich, potato skins and mozzarella sticks between 3 of us. Portions were sufficient in size. All were prepared very nicely and all 3 of us were satisfied. My father ordered the Maryland crab soup, although tasty, was more like a vegetable soup. Bottle of wine was priced well. This will become a great addition to our list of regular spots to hit when we visit the jersey shore. Food was reasonably priced, which is hard to come by in this area, and had a decent selection of salads, burgers, and sandwiches. Our group ordered a variety of things; wedge salad, cheesesteak, french onion soup, burgers, chicken wrap, and club sandwich. Everyone was happy with their choices, however nothing was stand-out-delicious. However, that being said, I'm giving it four stars based on atmosphere, quality of food, location, and price of food. On tap beer selection could be larger, but you can stop next door on your way home to hit up the liquor store! read more

I have always loved Fred's, before and after the renovations. I like their food even though there isn't a big selection on the menu. The problem is that Fred's doesn't like us. We are Phillies fans and like to watch the game in our favorite places. Unfortunately Fred's never has the Phillies on any of their TVs and it's very hard to get the bartenders and/or staff to change the channels at game time. So, they either do not like the Phillies at all or they really don't want the Phillies fans in their bar. We've given up. When there is a game on, we go somewhere else. This review would be a 5 star had the inside not had a strange electrical smell. Fred's has recently undergone construction and I can only assume the smell is from that. Aside from that, this place is amazing! The food is more than reasonably priced, the portions are large and everything is delicious. The servers are pleasant and quick, and the drinks are cold and strong. Sit outside to avoid the electrical smell, and this is a 5 star experience. read more

This fine establishment went out of their way to make my sisters 21st birthday special! Kevin the bartender let me hang some birthday balloons by the bar to surprise her when she walked it.
