While they are much smaller than the Seattle's, they are more comprehensive gear shops around the Metro. This Perimeter REI is the best in our area. Sure, all Metro locations carry mostly same things plus or minus few inventory items / sizes. For me, it comes down to the staff and currently, this Sandy Springs REI has the most competent and attentive people. Recently, I ordered several hiking boots online and had to return one. I decided to return it to a store rather than by mail. I was educated on such huge staff knowledge differences on simple return process amongst local REI locations. It seems our consumer service level in most places have declined much in the past few years. However, as a Co-Op, REI has mostly kept up their service level even with my recent experience at another location. I appreciate Atlanta has many REI locations in a city that has very limited outdoor gear shops. One thing I absolutely find helpful at REI is their rock ramp to test the boots. Though when I was visiting many were shopping for OC sneakers. The staff here were more knowledgeable and helpful especially if you are early in your outdoor habits. Enjoy!

And while I was on the phone, the tech noticed me, but then started mumbling to his coworker about me being on the phone in a way that was clearly meant for me to hear it and at the same time essentially talking crap about me being on the phone, almost as if he was feeling like I was somehow disrespecting him. It was a very strange vibe that I started to feel. It was clear to me from his attitude and what I could hear him saying was that somehow I was either annoying him or bothering him because I was on my phone. After about 30 seconds got off the phone and said excuse me to the service tech who turned around and looked at me in a very dismissive way, basically told me to wait and turned and walked away. The vibe and the tone was clear to me that he wanted to somehow show me now that he had either the power or authority in this weird exchange that should never have existed. I turned around and walked out of the store and I'm taking my bike to another service shop and I'll never go there again nor ever shop there. Good riddance to these guys a note to the owner of the business; I was just getting ready to drop anywhere between 3K to 5k on a new bike. Good to know that your service text are causing people to walk out of your business, losing both the service revenue and a future sale in a business where the profit margins are extremely tight

I never felt like I was being persuaded to buy something more expensive than I needed which can sometimes be the case with small businesses. They also found other issues with my bike and showed me so that I could understand it was a necessary fix. ATMOSPHERE/COVID: They enforce wearing mask and have a limit to how many customers can be in the shop at once. I appreciate this because I'm a health-nut. You can see from my attached photos that it looks like any bike shop. I appreciate the aesthetic. PARKING: Surprisingly they have a small parking lot in the back of the shop, which is amazing considering they're in the heart of Atlanta where free parking is a myth. Overall I loved this bike shop and will be returning for all my future bike maintenance needs. I 10/10 recommend this for anyone looking for affordable bike care.

TLDR: I would not hire this company. Not only am I very disappointed with the diagnosis process and…read morethe repair that did not address the issue that I called them for but also with the failure of their management to address my concerns. I called Plumbing Express to investigate and resolve a water leak in my kitchen ceiling. The leak was directly below my master bathroom toilet, which my sister and I had already narrowed down by tapping on the kitchen ceiling downstairs while listening upstairs, where the sound was clearly strongest near the master bathroom toilet. The technician briefly inspected both bathrooms but focused on my sister's bathroom on the opposite side of the house after noticing a damp sponge under the toilet tank. My sister explained the sponge was there because she sprays and cleans the toilet regularly, not because of a leak. The plumber then cut open the kitchen ceiling drywall, stated the leak was coming from the water supply line from my sister's toilet, and performed a complete toilet tank rebuild for $450. After the repair, he gave me a card for a company that performs restorations and recommended I call them to inspect for subfloor damage. When that restoration company arrived, they immediately stated there was no way the ceiling leak could have originated from the secondary bathroom because of the location and no evidence of water stains. They recommended another plumber and a leak detection company come out to find the leak before they performed any work. I contacted a second plumber, who agreed the leak was much more likely connected to the master bathroom toilet directly above the leak area. Finally, I hired a leak detection company, and they also confirmed the leak aligned with the master bathroom location, not the secondary bathroom Plumbing Express repaired. At this point, three separate professionals have stated the leak could not have originated from the bathroom Plumbing Express serviced. I paid $450 for a repair that did not address the actual problem I originally called about. In Response to Ty G: Your response is totally incorrect. I would not have called the second plumber and the leak detection company if your recommended restoration company had not told me that the leak was not identified. The pictures taken are of the secondary bathroom not the master as we discussed in our phone call. It is totally "disingenuous" for you to now state that the master toilet was the issue. This validates everything I thought about your company. Others beware!

There was a mix-up the first time and they did the basic pet treatment. But they came back, did the advanced (deeper) enzyme treatment I had originally booked, and refunded me for the hassle, which I really appreciated. Both times the techs were pleasant and efficient. I also appreciated that, prior to treatment, they used a black light to thoroughly assess the problem. One thing to know is that the smell can actually get worse for a few days after deep enzyme cleaning (which really surprised me!). Keeping the windows closed at first, then airing out, running two air purifiers on turbo, and vacuuming thoroughly really helped. Vacuuming is so important because it lifts leftover VOC particles that cause "ghost smell" even after enzyme treatment. I also used an odor powder (Rocco & Roxie) over the carpet, left it for 24 hours, then vacuumed again. Blocking off the area with aluminum foil and barriers helped stop my cat from re-marking the same spots too. In the end, Citrus Fresh helped me save my carpet. I'd recommend them -- just know to stick with it, ask for the advanced treatment and be patient if you have a tough pet mess like mine!

What a great bike shop! The staff was incredible helpful and friendly. I was having problems clipping in and out with my bike shoes yesterday so I took them in to Free Flight to see if they could help me . They determined that I needed new cleats for my shoes but the type that I needed was out of stock. The Free Flight staff worked together to come up with an excellent solution to my cleat dilemma that made it possible for me to participate in a ride that I was looking forward to. Absolutely Stellar bike fitting from Eddie at the Sandy Springs store! I have a Trek road bike, mostly long rides 35 miles+ and several centuries. Started Experiencing ALOT of saddle issues and some knee and foot issues. Called Eddie and told him and he booked me for a fitting. Fitting was a couple hours and he was incredible - ADJUSTED almost everything on my bike, including cleats on my shoes and also watched me ride and gave me some pro tips on positioning and pedaling. Bill did an excellent job communicating with me; he took the time to let me know what my options were and which bike would be best for my needs. They are just getting their website up, so I wasn't able to purchase the bike over the website; nevertheless, when I emailed them to let them know I was trying to buy a bike, they communicated back with an invoice that I was easily able to pay. We had some minor difficulties with delivery; after I had scheduled a date, it didn't get confirmed in their system, and they had call back. Then, on delivery date, they arrived a little over two hours late; that said, they communicated with me via phone that they would be late, and the unloading crew were very kind and professional when they got to my house. So far, I'm pleased overall. If I have any troubles with the bike or with servicing, or if I have a particularly good experience with it running well, I'll update this review. I would recommend this business.
