Initially, very friendly and very helpful. However, since they accidentally connected the main house water line to our hot water line, we have had two promised appointments that they do not show up for. Tried rescheduling again for the 3rd time, hopefully they show up this time. We hired Freedom Plumbers to redirect our main water line and refrigerator line to accommodate some renovations we are doing. Our initial plumber Gary was very friendly, showed up only a bit late, but communicated very well with us. He left and we felt like we had a great experience. Later that afternoon/evening, we started noticing that all the faucets were backwards now (hot water coming from cold side and vice versa). Gary had accidentally connected the main water into our hot water line. We called Gary, who was apologetic and going out on medical leave the next day, but said he would come by and correct the problem on Friday. Thursday evening he called and said the treatment was rougher than he thought so he would not be able to do the work. He said he would call Freedom plumbers and have someone come out on Friday to fix it. Friday comes and no word from Freedom Plumbers, so I called them only to be told they can't fix it today, and "can't" over the weekend. The best they could do was first call on Monday morning. We had to leave the house by 11:15am on Monday, but they assured us we would be the first call Monday morning. Having a dishwasher only using cold water, wasting hot water on cold water applications, etc. was getting really frustrating, but that is the best they could do supposedly. Monday morning comes, no calls from Freedom Plumber. I call at 9am and the lady apologizes and says she can't reach the plumber, but will call me back when she hears from him. I have to call them back at 11:15am, go through the whole story again (different customer service person every time) and she said he will be coming out to us next. I explained that will not work and why. She rescheduled us for Tuesday and promised they would be out between 10am - 2pm. When I reminded her that we were promised someone on Friday, then again for Monday, and they failed both times, how can I trust her for tomorrow. She said, no, they will be there. I guess we will see if they show up tomorrow and fix the problem, or if I just have to dispute the charge and hire someone else to fix their mistake. read more

I am very pleased with Freedom Plumbing's handling of my recent hot water heater replacement. Phone inquiries were answered promptly and handled in a friendly and professional manner without need to speak to more than the original answerer. Installer David Labell (sp?) arrived on time for an estimate the day following my call, which was fine as my need was not an emergency. After Mr. Labell had inspected the existing 10-year-old unit and stated cost and advice re repair vs. replacement, I opted for replacement. He arrived on time the next day with the new heater, drained and removed the old, and installed the new one and supporting plumbing, and cleaned up the workspace, all surprisingly (to me) quickly. The overall cost to me for the heater, delivery, installation, and haul away was competitive with--actually beat--others I received, and there were no on-site "surprises" during the installation. One minor glitch in the process was that the old heater was left beside my driveway to be picked up and hauled away the next day, a Friday. That did not happen, but as snow had snarled traffic for part if that day, I did not complain. I also didn't complain over the succeeding weekend, but on the Monday morning I called Freedom to inquire re the haul away delay. The operator there was surprised it had not already bee done, apologized profusely and promised to see that it was hauled away that day. That promise was kept. I would not hesitate to call Freedom Plumbing for future needs or to recommend their services to anyone needing that sort of work. read more

Ricky with the help of his assistants Mike and Justin pumped out our septic system holding tank yesterday. If there was a 10 star option they'd get it! We could not be happier with the services provided. Before the appointment, Ricky and the Freedom Plumbers office kept us informed of their status and then the team showed up on time ready to work. Ricky provided an informed overview of the work they would do, some details about our system we didn't know about and the charges were exactly as outlined in their estimate. Throughout the service, Rick, Mike and Justin were very thorough, respectful of our property, considerate and professional. They really take pride in providing top notch customer service and it shows in how they work. We'd been working with another septic service company in the past, and were happy with them. However, they were unavailable to service our system this time which is what prompted us to use Yelp and obtain multiple estimates. Working with Freedom was such a great experience we plan to stay with them in the future. When we were comparing estimates through Yelp, one of the other plumbers (who does not perform pump-out services) recommended Freedom for many of the reasons outlined above. We figured a recommendation from a fellow plumber is hard to beat, which is one of the reasons we selected Freedom and we're glad we did. We had Freedom Plumbers last fall to both empty our septic tank and for repairing the tank concrete riser and lid. They also recommended installing a filter which we agreed. After the job, there were concerns about the quality of their work and problems with communication as our emails went unanswered. Finally, and to their credit, Freedom Plumbers came to redo the installation of the filter riser after about four months. However, we were unsatisfied with their performance for two reasons: a) Fairfax County requires official inspection of septic tank repairs, and Freedom Plumbers took no initiative to advise us of this requirement or to contact the County directly. After another firm installed new septic pumps and proactively engaged with the inspectors, we learned about the requirement. Finally, the inspectors had to contact Freedom Plumbers. Without the other firm, we would still be in violation of Country requirements; and b) The repair of the concrete riser was done exceptionally poorly, and even Freedom Plumbers themselves admitted that the work was unsatisfactory. As a result, they promised to reimburse the cost. However, despite several phone calls and email reminders since January, the firm has not honored its pledge, and no reimbursement has been made. read more

I hired Freedom Plumbers to install a new sump pump and couldn't be happier with their work. Prior to the installation, I met with David, who attempted to correct my flooding issue by snaking the exterior drain. After trying for 30 minutes he assessed that the drain was deteriorated and recommended the sump pump. He arranged to bring in another David who would talk with me about my options. Both gentlemen were very knowledgeable and personable and most importantly were able to explain the details to me in a way that I fully understood ... which I appreciated given that I know very little about plumbing. They also applied the cost of the first visit and the snaking of the drain, to the final sump pump bid. Their bid was comparable to others I received but theirs came with a battery back-up for the system. The crew arrived a few days later, right on time, and completed the job in one day. They were friendly and courteous and did a wonderful job. They left the area, inside and out, nice and clean. I would highly recommend Freedom Plumbers to anyone in need of a sump pump. read more

Freedom Plumbers was the ONLY great part of having a broken lateral sewer pipe 8 feet under our Alexandria VA townhouse driveway that insurance refused to cover. Dave, the estimator, was fabulous and we learned so much from him. The crew who did the job (Ernesto, Chris, and Josua) was incredibly professional, punctual, knowledgable, respectful of our property and cleaned up meticulously afterwards. They did EXCELLENT work for a very reasonable price. Every employee we interacted with at Freedom Plumbers was kind, prompt to answer and return all our calls, and genuinely cared about our problem. I recently purchased by first home. There was a leak in our main drain. When I tried going through the home warranty to get the problem repaired, it was initially denied. That lead me to the internet where I found Freedom Plumbers. They had a technician out to the house within a half hour. The tech was extremely professional and helped put me at ease about hiring them for the job. What really impressed me was the fact that the technician wanted to have the company's camera man come check out the entire drain line to make sure there were no other issues before replacing the the pipe with the leak. Everyone I worked with from the company either in person or over the phone was polite, professional, and knowledgeable. The techs that came to the house took their time to educate me on my plumbing system. The people on the phone were fantastic and kept me informed of everything. The called early in the morning to schedule the appointment and was immediately taken care of. Craig came over, assessed the problem and discussed with me the sewer issue that I was having and proposed a solution. I was searching on line for a plumbing company who could replace my kitchen sink, pipes and faucet, which were leaking. I had an appointment with Joe S. from Freedom Plumbers. He and I agreed as to the work needed and an appointment was set up for the next week. Joe S. came before 2 pm on appointment day. He had to enlarge the opening for the new sink, installed it, replaced the pipes and drain under the sink, and installed a new quality Moen faucet. The new kitchen sink and faucet are great. Joe S. worked steadily for over two hours with no breaks. He was professional, polite, courteous, knowledgeable and is obviously skilled and experienced at his job. Dave, Ricky and everyone we worked with to replace our main sewer drain using trenchless technology were top notch. Everyone was polite, professional, and on time. The job they did was exceptional and did not destroy our yard as most drain replacements do. Ricky worked with us to ensure we were able to take advantage of the City of Fairfax Wastewater Lateral Repair and Replacement Program by submitting all the necessary documentation and we were able to receive a partial reimbursement which was a huge relief during the current pandemic. After months of trying to fix our leaky toilet ourselves, we finally called the professionals. Our plumber came on time and was honest with what he saw. He told us that our issue could easily be fixed by buying a new part and installing it ourselves- which would save us money. We did what he said but still had issues with leaking. I called Freedom Plumbers back and they sent the same technician out the next day. Our technician worked hard to fix the leaking and would not leave until he was sure it was solved. This group is responsive! My main service underground water line broke. I spent 2 days trying to get a response from any of the plumber groups recommended by my insurance. This group was able to send someone out the day we called and find out the problem. They have a 15 yr warranty that makes me feel good knowing even if something happens again they have my back. Craig restored our water flow as the sewer line was blocked with roots. Did a thorough job. Another plumber had worked on this issue from a different company. He did not do an adequate job and the problem returned in less than two weeks time.
