    Amazing quality

We stayed in hotel across the street and were heading out of town to drive north and just happened to see this bakery. To satisfy sweet tooth we stopped by around lunchtime. The setup is really nice. You can sit inside or outside on the patio and enjoy the sun. I'm particularly fond of the fruit tarts and the one I picked out was amazing. My wife picked out a fruit gel that was special made. We had to let it thaw for 30 minutes, but it was absolutely delicious. The owner was inside very friendly guy and we sat and chatted with him for a little bit. If you like high-quality baked goods, you have to stop by here.

Amazing coffee. I had an oatmilk latte. My husband tried the tiramisu cake which he also loved. Their prices are very reasonable. Employees are very nice and patient.

Finally a French bakery we all love! My sister brought a bunch of goodies for my birthday party and they were all delicious! Can't wait to go to the bakery myself and check out all the goodies. The napoleon cake is the best we've had in north county!

    Ample outdoor space.

We were frequent customers at the precious location in Carlsbad Village. We were unhappy to see the cafe relocate. We are wrong! The new location is definitely provides more comfortable outdoor seating, easy parking AND the same delicious fare. The new complex also offers other interesting buildings, and businesses with lovely, unexpected outdoor spaces. The architecture is very industrial, but the overall design speaks of a community gathering center. Give this location a try. We were impressed, especially since this is still a family business and does not have a chain store vibe.

Raspberry Almond Tart - crushed almond filling so good!

This place is SO good. Though initially I was saddened that they took over the business space that used to be an Asian Fusion restaurant, sadness quickly turned to happiness! This is a contemporary-style French bakery that serves breakfast & lunch with coffee or wine and other beverages. We walked up to the register to order our food & beverages and got a number to put on our table. The employees were helpful and friendly. I've always appreciated and enjoyed the open layout of this place. There's really nice outdoor seating but inside is good too, still feels like you're dining al fresco. After ordering, our drinks came first. We had the Pistachio Latte and the Lavender Chai and OMG. The BEST we've had anywhere. Then we tried the Chicken Florentine Crepes and the French Onion Soup, both served with a spring salad. My oh my. It was absolutely delicious! Both were on point! Then, we had to get something sweet. So, we chose the Mango dessert (that was as big as a real one) and the Raspberry Tart. Both were good. We liked that they weren't overly sweet and had just the right amount of sweetness. The mango dessert was so light and fruity and the crushed almond filling in the raspberry tart just added an extra layer of goodness to an already delicious dessert. Overall, was a great experience and looking forward to going back!

Oui! Oui! Oui! C'est super, c'est délicieux! This is exactly what this area has been missing, an outstanding French bakery and café. My better half has been picking up pastries here since they opened, and l've been consistently impressed by the quality. I finally stopped in myself this week and was absolutely delighted. The space is spotless, with a lovely outdoor seating area and one of the most beautiful pastry displays I've seen locally. I ordered a generous assortment of both refrigerated and baked pastries, and every single one was exquisite. The service was warm, friendly, and patient as I lingered...oohing and admiring every creation behind the glass. This place already feels like the start of a long, happy weekly ritual. In addition to the pastries, they offer a fantastic breakfast and lunch menu, excellent coffee, and even wine. Comme on dit en France : la vie est trop courte pour se priver de bonnes pâtisseries-life is too short to deny yourself great pastries!

I love desserts so I am always excited to try new places. This place has a variety of desserts and pastries. We tried a muffin, a fruit tart and the chocolate dessert in the picture. The muffin didn't taste fresh and the pastries on display also looked stale. The fruit tart was ok and the chocolate dessert was tasty but it costs $11 so I am not sure it's worth the price tag.

Been a few times now. Our favs are the apple tart, the chocolate eclairs and the raspberry mousse cake...amazing. All we're not overly sweet. They also offer breakfast/lunch items. Ordered an omelette and it was delicious. Easy parking in lot. You can dine in or out on the patio.

I was looking for a new place to have breakfast and saw this Bakery Cafe next to restaurants we frequent when in town. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. There were so many beautiful pieces of art (pastries) behind the counter that I'm sure we'll be back regularly for coffee and pastry to go. We ordered... Mediterranean omelette with taters. Crepes with Grandmanier infused cream Latte (hot and cold) Everything was delicious. My husband and I shared the food. It was a nice combination of savory and sweet. The decor is modern. Seating inside and outside. (Although they should water the plants outside). Restroom was unisex and clean. Looking forward to trying the pastries. Will definitely be getting some for my tea parties or get togethers.

INCREDIBLE cake! Love their tart too, honestly wanted to try everything. It is tucked away so I wouldn't have noticed it if I wasn't looking for it but it is in a very calm/peaceful area. The staff was super friendly and helpful with flavor suggestions. Definitely will be returning to try some other pastries!

Screw the ambiance & the service, while those were fine let's get to business. The raspberry pastry was phenomenal, I shoved it down my throat without utensils before exiting the parking lot, no cross section picture for you. I also finished the mango pastry in the same sitting. Highly recommend. $11.50/each

The well-loved French Bakery from Carlsbad Village opened up their new location near Bressi! It's a quiet location (at least on the Sunday morning we went on) with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating plus a large parking lot. Friendly staff as always, yummy cakes and paninis, and a relaxing atmosphere. I love the ambiance here, and can see it as a great place to catch up with loved ones or even get some work/study done :)

I tried one of their summer specials, an Iced Banana Maple Latte with soy milk. I loved how bold and intense the flavor of the coffee was without it being overwhelming; however, I did not taste the banana or maple flavors at all. It just tasted like a straight up sweetened iced latte. Don't get me wrong, it's a great latte. But I guess I was just expecting to get more of the banana and maple flavors, especially since I was pretty excited about that flavor combination. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the ambiance was great. I love that they have their roasting machine right where people can observe and watch the process if they wanted to. It's easier for them and easier for us - they can count how many people are coming & you don't have to worry about waiting an hour. Vibes are great. Food is lovely (though expensive!). My fave dish was the amazing summer porridge. Sure it's $32 for the dish - but this is a Michelin-quality place (Bib Gourmand, not a star) so not for every day and it was delicious. Basically like a risotto, ate every grain. Check out the gorgeous pic! People are high on the Turkish eggs - but I thought they were meh, and tiny for $23. Not one of the best values here, IMHO. We wanted to try the vaunted French toast, but they had run out by the time of our reservation. On the recommendation of our server & my friend Jiansen in his review here, we also ordered the Pistachio Bread Pudding. It was beautiful, tasty, light and photo worthy! And also on Jiansen's rec, I tried the jasper, which was like a cold coffee mocktail on the rocks (steady state coffee. cherry. chaga. vanilla. rose vinegar. lemon). Tasty and interesting! We really liked the vibes too. They take reservations for 1:30 pm, though they're closing technically at 2. The manager (whose name I am forgetting - but he is from Philly and super nice!) told us "they don't close" and we could sit and enjoy & not be in their way while they closed up, but a few of the other staff members seemed to be wanting us to leave. So keep that in mind if you get one of the last reservations; lingering with a friend might be a bit challenging. But we had a great time, and I especially enjoyed the summer porridge. I'll definitely come again (and know I should make a reservation) - but it's probably better to come earlier before they run out of anything & before we're in their way while they're cleaning up! Oh - and parking can be a real challenge. Come early and check out the side streets!
