    Combo Pizza
    Ed S.

My son and I decided to try a new Pizza Place called Friend's Brewery (Formerly Pete's Restaurant) at 2475 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95758 Upon arrival, I realized that this was a sports bar with lots of TV's and a huge menu that included appetizers, pizza, salads, burgers, pasta, steak, ribs, clam chowder, lasagna and deserts. The restaurant was very clean, although the carpet was really showing its age in some spots. Our server was OK and took our order for a house salad with thousand on the side, medium combo pizza, and a diet Pepsi. Other customers around me ordered hamburgers and other items which looked very good. The salad was delivered but the dressing had spilled onto the salad (see photo). Overall it was good but it tasted a bit off, like the salad wasn't too fresh and the thousand island dressing tasted different than others I've tried. I didn't like the croutons, as they were really hard to bite into. The other items in the salad (garbanzo beans, black olives), were great. The mixture ratio of the diet Pepsi was perfect and had an excellent taste. Now for the pizza-absolutely perfect. Good quality ingredients, cooked perfectly, excellent standard bread crust (see photo). There are so many sports bars in Elk Grove and I've tried several. Each one has something to attract customers such as their style of pizza. Friend's menu has many selections to choose from and the desserts look amazing.

This is hands down the best place in Elk Grove to get lunch. They have a phenomenal lunch deal. It is $11 for a personal 2 topping pizza and a salad. I did add a Coors light. The pizza was very good and cooked with care and love. The salad was good. The ingredients were fresh and the dressing was flavorful. The employees are all great. Our server today was very friendly. Please come give them a try and support a local business.

First time visiting the Elk Grove location. It's right off of I-5 which was convenient. The inside gives a pizza parlor feel but what I liked is all of the televisions with various sports channels to watch while you eat your food. We were greeted by the staff and were told they had draft beers for $5 which was awesome! We ordered the Hawaiian Spicy chicken sandwich, grilled chicken and avocado club sandwich and fries. The food was good and well prepared. My grilled chicken was a little burnt but it didn't ruin the taste. The service was great too! Our server was super friendly and attentive! We all enjoyed our experience and can't wait to come back to try their other dishes.

Ordered a salad and soup via door dash from Frends. The salad was browning and wilted. Not sure how the person making the salad could not have seen how bad the salad was. The soup was good.

    House amber. Very nice!

Had the Hawaiian pizza for dinner. Toppings and sauce were good but the crust was too hard. Almost to the point of being stale.

Does anyone know the name of a hot oily sauce they have there because there is several?

Harissa Chili Oil....we make it here. It is normally served with our Mediterranean Flatbread. I always offer it to those that like it HOT!

You are seated with bread served with cinnamon sugar butter. During our most recent visit our bread did not seem the most fresh, but you can always request a fresh batch as it's unlimited for free! My husband picked out a ribeye steak and I went with the all-american cheeseburger. Husband enjoyed his medium rare steak and caesar salad side. My burger was cooked perfectly medium rare and was so good. However, I did not enjoy the pickle it came with. It was mushy and not crisp. Our server, Amanda, was wonderful. She was super sweet and checked on us often. Her service was really exceptional. There is a designated parking lot by the restaurant but it can get filled quickly during peak hours.

We ordered two of the regular fat burgers with all of the toppings and sauces to get the full experience. We also ordered some skinny fries and onion rings. Service was friendly. It did take a little longer than I expected for our order to come out. I would say about 15-20 minutes at least. The restaurant was clean. We brought it home immediately, and I found each of food items to be just barely warm. For the burger, the different toppings were nice to have, but nothing super unique. The bun was probably the most disappointing part was the bun. The bun wasn't really soft, and definitely not warmed up. It would have been nice if the bread was toasted at the very least. The bun itself was also a little dry. The skinny fries had potential to be better. They were mostly soggy and unfortunately not salted enough. The onion rings were not crispy despite the batter appearing to be that way in many pictures. I can't really see myself coming back here.

This place specializes in burgers but also may be jog on buffalo wings. I ordered a burger with onions cheddar, pickles/rekush, mayo, mustard, and an order of skinny fries and a soda (Pepsi products). With the meal deal and tip, cost was about $20. Good burger, huge, hot, flavored like the kind you make at home in a fry pan, eg pepper, salt and possibly garlic powder. Nice huge dense bun, too. Fries were good, also hot. It's a big deal when you eat out and are served hot food. Great meal, huge portion and truly reminded me of a home cooked burger. Friendly professional customer service, quick to order and receive a great meal. Offered me ranch, thousand island dressing for fries, no extra cost. They have cardio, salt and pepper, mints, hand wipes, nice touch along with mints. Two big screen TV's, no blaring way to loud music. I'll try it again in the future. Looks like they have milkshakes including vegan flavors, chicken sandwich, ground turkey burger.

Oh my, the French toast is a huge portion and beautifully presented with a side of whipped cream and strawberry compote on top. It's not as sweet as it looks (perfect for my taste) and the toast had crispy edges. Sausage was good but needed to be cooked just a bit longer, so you get that snap when you bite it. Scrambled eggs were good too. My husband got the chorizo burrito with tater tots on the side. He liked the burrito but said it did have little kick to it. The tots were fried to perfection and not oily. My brother ordered the "Dad's Mash Up," all kinds of stuff (breakfast meats and cheese) served on top of tots and covered in gravy. It was a pile of food, no complaints from my bro. Service was great and welcoming as soon as we walked in. No wait on a Wednesday morning, but I imagine there is on the weekends. I let our server know it was my brother's birthday, and after we were finishing up our meals, they brought him a complimentary small plate of the strawberry French toast! That was a fantastic way to end his celebratory breakfast. My only complaint, which is more of a suggestion, is to have flavored cream available besides half and half. The coffee is strong and delicious and our cups were never empty. Thank you, Jamie and staff, for a wonderful and yummy first visit. We'll be back!

Wait Time: 15 minutes (Sunday brunch)…read more Parking: Free with plenty of spaces in the shopping complex. Restroom: Bright and clean. Ambience: The space feels somewhat unfinished. Much of the interior consists of plain, single-color walls without much décor, giving it a blank and somewhat incomplete feel. Service: Friendly but slow and somewhat disorganized. * At check-in, the host added my name (Lin) to the waitlist and said I would receive a text when my table was ready. However, the notification arrived under a different name (Nancy), so I had to double-check whether the table was actually for us. * Our server was pleasant, but service felt scattered. She stopped by to check on us, but before we could respond, she walked over to another table and continued a conversation there. When she returned, she said she would bring water, even though we were already ready to order. It took a while for the water to arrive. * Later, we requested a water refill, which she acknowledged, but it appeared to be forgotten. The refill only came when we were getting ready to leave, at which point she apologized. Although it was a Sunday brunch service, the restaurant did not seem busy enough to fully explain the level of disorganization. Food: Breakfast is available all day. I recommend the Eggs Benedict (weekends only), which comes in several varieties: A. Bacon, spinach, and tomato Benedict B. Traditional ham Benedict C. Cali Benedict with avocado, tomatoes, and arugula D. Smoked Salmon Benedict The Club Sandwich also comes with a generous portion size. A nice convenience is that the restaurant allows split bills, and guests can pay individually through the Toast app.

I got the prickly pear mint smash and it was wonderful! We asked if splitting an appetizer and one sandwich would be enough for two people and our server Carmen confirmed it would be. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer and the garlic steak sandwich with onion rings. Y'all, the food was AMAZING! the Brussels sprouts were so savory and delicious! I've never had blue cheese in the mix and wow was it scrumptious!! Lots of bacon, balsamic glaze, and finished with truffle oil! A huge serving as well. Next came the steak sandwich. Hands down the best steak sandwich I've ever had. It's made with Wagyu beef, and heaps of sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, cheese and arugula. So garlicky, juicy and tender meat. We could not finish it even though we split it. Just unbelievably delicious! We were going to ask for the check but then our server Carmen said: "Fresh churros and ice cream?" Who says no to that? Not us. The churros arrive. 10 or so mini churros, covered in cinnamon sugar, drizzled with caramel sauce, pipping hot and a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream, and then Carmen says " they are filled with Dulce de leche!" They were just scrumptious beyond belief. Lots of friendly folks, an amazing friendly server, and fantastic food we got super quick. I can't wait to go back.
