Not quite hit the spot like fire wings, but definitely better than most boba place wings and wingstop. Yep- better than wingstop. 3. Bon Chon galore- no one does bonchon like Oz- 5 stars. The brocolli, white cabbage, potato salad, radish, onion pickled radish, spinach, bean sprouts, fish cakes, spinach, yum yum!! I love that they have so much selection to satisfy my tastebud ADHD. 4. The meats- 4 stars. Not as tender as Ember or Gogi, but still pretty good. 5. The tofu soup - 5 stars, very flavorful and great with a scoop of white rice. 6. The corn cheese - 5 stars... but I'm not sure how you can do this wrong... so simple but love it. 7. The egg thingy- 5 stars. this oz definitely has a different vibe than the one in bradshaw; it's louder in regards to music and customers and tends to have more of a hustle and bustle. the variety of meats, sides, sauces, and appetizers offered here is good, and even with such a wide variety quality isn't sacrificed as much as someone may expect. the banchan always hits and is fresh, the meat is delicious, and the appetizers are solid. only complaint i have is that i wish the chadol was fattier!!! it's a bit too meaty for what chadol should be. service was good despite it being such a packed and busy night! our waitress was very attentive and kind. read more

Another deserving high quality spot for AAPI Heritage Month! I've been to this Oz location a couple of times before for both dine-in and to-go. It's located in small shopping plaza with ample parking. This place is nice and pretty big inside with plenty of dining tables and a bar. For this visit, we just placed an online order for pickup. Ordered the following items: Garlic SamGyupSal box - sliced pork belly. Sooo good 5/5 Oz Galbi box - boneless beef short ribs. Very tender and tasty 5/5 Both meals were delish! Second ever visit to Oz. This time Friday dinner. Got on the waitlist about 15 mins before arrival which was about the time we would be near the top of the line. When we arrived, we were 4th on the Yelp wait list but got seated within 5 mins. A definite improvement than my first visit in that the place was busy at 530 pm and seemed fully staff (compared to my first lunch time visit). 5 stars Overall, service was great and our waiter this time was AJ. Tried the soy garlic chicken wings this time (3 pieces) and was pretty tasty. The meats at Oz never disappoints. The Oz galbi is perfectly seasoned. If you come on the weekdays, they have lunch prices for 26.99. They also have food selections of sides too like japchae, broccoli, and potato salad. The fried chicken wings were a little soggy and not as crunchy like it is suppose to be. The service was a little lacking because the wait for the meats was pretty long. But, they were really apologetic and were able to resolve the issue in a timely manner. And a side tip is, before you arrive, you can join the waitlist on Yelp so when you get there, you can just check in and hopefully you don't have to wait that long in the waiting room. read more

It was our first time coming here. We checked in and were told there was a 10-15 minute wait. We waited for about 30 minutes to get seated. After being seated we ordered food. The wait was about 20 minutes and portions were small. Ordered drinks and had to wait for them after receiving food. Received food in small portions. Ex: shrimp order only came with 4 shrimp for a party of 4. 4 wings also. Fries were already cooled down when received and salty. Wings were dry and not tender. Steak was pretty good. Once we got to our 3rd all you can eat order the portions were finally more balanced and tastier. Maybe it was just busy but at least our server was good! Good communication and nice. KBBQ - We usually stick to the beef options, and our go-to selections are: Chadol Spicy Chadol Bone-In and Boneless Galbi Spicy Bulgogi Ribeye Steak Hawaiian Steak - this is a hit or miss for me SEAFOOD 4/5 - I am a fan of the following: Garlic Shrimp Spicy Mussels Parmesan Mussels KIDS' FAVORITES: Potstickers French Fries Chicken Wings Fried Green Beans I also love all of the banchan sides, especially the broccoli, japchae, pickled radish, and jalapeño cabbage. I've been to Oz a few times but it's been awhile. Went on a Sunday for lunch and the parking lot was packed. Circled around for 10 mins and finally parked across the street and walked over. Inside it wasn't packed at all. At 12:30, there were plenty of tables. I forgot how cold it feels inside...but by 1:30 the place was packed and didn't feel the chill after that. The waiter took our order and in a couple minutes they were bringing our food. So that was impressive. We did the all you can eat buffet and it didn't disappoint. We had to ask a few times for items we ordered but overall, the service was good and friendly. Lunch for 2 was an easy $100 (including tip) although I think they charge dinner rates for the all-you-can-eat option on weekends. Overall though, it was a great lunch over good food. read more

Best Korean bbq spot in Northern California. Moving to Elk Grove 5 years ago, Oz was extremely affordable and the quality was perfection. Throughout the years, the service had some poor moments but my recent visit made me remember what I loved about Oz. What I love: -Yelp waitlist- the fact that more restaurants don't hop on this baffles me. -food is consistent -their sides are plentiful and delicious -our server, Kathy -everything comes out FAST -parking lot -being able to check in and plan- prevents you from wasting time What I dislike: -service isn't always consistent, sometimes you'll have a server who doesn't follow up -the alcoholic drink orders can sometimes take a while It's always busy and lively in there. Mostly everyone is top notch and friendly. Their marinated meats are superior compared to the quality of other kbbqs. Our favorite is the Oz Galbi and the steak. Their kimchee is delicious but mild. Other banchans are all good, seriously. We're constantly asking for refills. Though their drinks can sometimes take a while, they're also really good. Ice cold draft beers and strong mixed drinks. I've been to the Elk Grove Oz location more times that I can count, so I figured it was finally time to give them the love (and honesty) they deserve. I've dined here with just my husband, with a small group of friends, and most recently with a party of 20.... and the experience is consistently delicious. You truly cannot beat the AYCE dinner price of $35.99. The fact that it includes starters, a variety of banchan, tons of protein and seafood options, and dessert makes it an absolute steal. Our must orders? Oz Ribeye Steak Royal Galbi Spicy Bulgogi Chicken Wings And.... we never leave without ending the meal with the fried sesame balls. Service is always friendly, they switch out the grill often, and the staff keeps the good vibes going. My only gripe: dishes don't get cleared very quickly. We usually end up stacking them on the empty table next to us. Also, walk carefully.... the floors can get slippery, and a few of us have had some near misses! Now the reservation process... deep breath.... Making a reservation for a large group can be stressful. When I called to confirm our party of 20 (which might have been 19), I was told we'd be charged $10.00 per empty seat, which is something I've never heard of anywhere else. I totally understand the no-show fee for the ENTIRE party not showing up.....but for being short one person even if the rest of us are there? That was new. When I asked if I could change the reservation to 19 and add the 20th person back if they ended up coming, the person on the phone said they not might be be able to accommodate an extra seat because they might place us in a section that ONLY fits 19. So we kept it at 20. Fast forward to the night of.... and not only did all 20 show up.... we somehow ended up with 21 people (lol). I walked up to the hostess station fully prepared to plead my case, and instead they smiled, said it was no problem at all, and added a seat with zero fuss. Despite that hiccup, we'll absolutely be back. The food is great, the price is right, the bar is fully stocked, the birthday prize wheel is always a hit, and there's plenty of parking. I felt like I was good after 2 rounds of meat, banchan, and a couple appetizers. Took about 30 minutes to get seated on a weekday at about 1145am. Despite that, I'd rather go here for lunch than dinner. Dinner is more packed in terms of parking and restaurant crowd. Once seated though the service was excellent - prompt, attentive. Restroom was good, parking was easy. Some more options I enjoyed were Woobaesol, samdasol, sesame beef, cheese corn, sesame ball. The food here has always tasted good or fresh overall, whether it's the banchan, appetizers, meats, or leafy greens - a major plus. OZ Korean BBQ in Elk Grove continues to be our go-to spot when we can't decide where to eat. It never disappoints when we're craving a hearty, high-protein meal that's both delicious and fun to cook ourselves. This is an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ place where you grill your own meats, and the quality remains consistently good. We have tried other places in Elk Grove - the ones who also offer a hotpot option - but it's always a bit much to have both in one meal. On this visit, the royal galbi and sesame beef were excellent--tender, flavorful, and perfectly marinated. The spicy bulgogi, however, was a bit underwhelming this time. Still, the overall meal was satisfying and well worth the visit. The banchan selection feels a bit limited lately. Gone are the days of anchovies and fish cakes--looks like they've trimmed the offerings to the most popular side dishes. It's understandable given rising costs, but I do miss that variety. The restaurant sits in a convenient strip mall near I-5 with decent parking. Depending on the time of day, it can fill up quickly, so definitely join the Yelp waitlist ahead of time. We arrived on a Friday late afternoon, and thanks to the waitlist, we were seated in about five minutes. Sauce lovers, take note--make your own mix! We like sesame oil with a bit of salt (just a pinch, or it'll overpower), the white sauce was creamy and delicious and gochujang on the side adds a bit of spice - It really elevates each bite - also cools down the meat enough to devour. Desserts are a fun touch here. The new addition of taiyaki is delightful--crispy outside, soft inside--but there's a two-piece per person limit, which feels unnecessarily strict. The same applies to the sesame balls. It's a bit odd to have limits like that in an AYCE experience. They also offer a full bar (not included in the all-you-can-eat price), and the pricing itself has stayed surprisingly reasonable--about $26 for lunch and $36 for dinner, which is fair value these days. My main gripe is the ventilation--it's starting to falter. The exhaust system doesn't keep up as well as it used to, making the room smoky, and the floors can get quite slippery. When this Elk Grove location first opened, the airflow was noticeably better, so hopefully they fix that soon. Even with those minor issues, OZ remains a reliable and satisfying Korean BBQ option. It's so flavorful and they give you a good enough amount to where you don't get too full, but just enough to satisfy your craving. I also love their fries too, super crispy and loaded with seasoning. I've always loved coming to OZ Korean BBQ and it's still one of my go to spots for Korean BBQ. One thing I really appreciate is that you can join the waitlist through yelp! It makes the whole process so much more convenient, especially since this place is almost always busy and I live over 30 minutes away. Another thing I've noticed over time is that they're constantly adding new items to the menu which keeps things exciting and gives regulars something new to try. The food quality is still great and has always been consistent. The meats are flavorful and the overall experience is usually solid! I do think they recently changed the calamari though because now the new one tastes so fishy compared to the old one :( However, I do feel like the service has gone downhill over the last few months. It sometimes takes 15-20 minutes just to get a server to our table after we've been seated and it often feels like they're understaffed. We went on Valentine's Day & you'd think they'd be properly staffed, but nope! Service was pretty bad. When we went today, our table felt really cramped with four people and barely any table space. On top of that, our waiter rarely came by to clear dishes, so empty plates kept piling up while we were trying to cook and eat. The dessert - sesame balls and taiyaki - is one of the best things they have there. The taiyaki, fish shaped dessert with sweet potato inside, are piping hot and melt in your mouth. I have came here for years during HS and college to eat at this place. I moved away and came back and things have changed quite a bit! Their menu is a lot bigger with more varieties to it. The wings had different options to choose from. They had more options for dumplings. I was impressed. I felt bad for our server as he was actually the host since their server didn't show up until 30 mins later. He was manning the front while serving customers. It comes out on a little robot, which is fun and efficient. My favorite is the balgogi, wings, and cheese corn so don't miss out on those. They change out your grill when it gets a little too smoky or dark. They changed ours about three times during our stay. If you go on your birthday, the robot can come out and sing to you, and get a Shirley Temple and a spin at the wheel. The vibe is cool in there with music and bright neon lights.
