    Shrimp po boy
    Erika T.

Found this place on a Yelp search. Waiting for my hotel room to be ready needed to get some food. Perk it was on the lake and it was a nice day out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seated on the patio to finish up some work.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Waitress was great and very friendly. Ordered the Cajun kickers as my appetizer. They came out hot and tasted so good. I could have eaten another order and been happy. Ordered the shrimp po boy with onion rings. There was so much shrimp on the sandwich it was almost (I ate it ) hard to eat. I needed a little more mayo and lettuce but it was good and the shrimp had good flavor. The breading was thick but not greasy. For my white person palette, a bit too much salt, but again that is just my taste. I would recommend going, they have a lot of options on the menu I would have liked to try.

We came here for a wedding and had a great time. The staff was super attentive and all the girls were really sweet. A lot of different food was served and all of it was hot and fresh. Shrimp was probably both of our favorite. Drinks were well made and came out quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really pretty views of the lake too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Had not been here in years, way before Joe became the chef. I wanted to choose something different for my husband's birthday and we prefer not to go to Orleans Parish if we don't have to. I cannot say enough about the staff or the food. The staff were genuine and excellent. I had one of the drink soecials: a passionfruit marg. Really yummy. Hubby had the soft shell platter: 2 nice size crabs perfectly cooked with fries and veggies that he said were fresh and delicious. I had the Eggplant Napoleon with shrimp and crabmeat and a crawfish cream sauce over linguine. It was lovely. We were both so glad we gave Frenier Labding another chance. Looking forward to returning!

So we had a swamp tour at 2:15. We needed food first. We came to Frenier Landing at about 1:30. First off all, beautiful location, right at the edge of the lake! There is some outdoor seating, and great views if you happen to get a seat by the window. We were seated and our order taken in about 5 min. For Louisiana, our food came out, relatively quickly, at around 1:50. We also asked for the bill immediately, just so we could make a fast exit when finished. The food itself was great! I got the oyster po boy, all dressed, and it was well fried. My mother got the grilled chicken sandwich, and noted that the fresh pepper was delicious and the chicken was well cooked. My father got the crab cake sandwich and also loved it, particularly the sauce added to it. Definitely a nice place to stop if you're not in a hurry! And we did make it to the swamp tour in time.

everything we ordered was outstanding. and [[HIGHLIGHT]]you couldn't beat the view from the outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will definitely come back on a future trip.

We were a little nervous after some of the reviews but we were very happy with our visit. We had the crawfish kickers, grilled & stuffed catfish and the seafood platter. Everything was delicious and seasoned perfectly. (We're sensitive to too much salt and this wasn't an issue for us) The staff was attentive and friendly and the location was really nice.

Bland onion rings, rancid crab cake. Fish tacos returned. I should have just walked out when I had the chance. The reason why I went was for Adam Pearce. But it was rained out, and we went the next night.

The best catfish I'd ever had was at Paula Dean's in Tennessee -- that is until I had this catfish. OMGGGG! Unreal. I love these hole-in-the-wall places like this that just make the best food. You'd never assume this would be the best meal I had all trip by looking at the pictures, but it certainly was. Fairly priced. Friendly staff. Super clean. 10/10 experience! My only complaint if I HAD to say something: I wish they had a house-made tartar sauce. The little packet they give you was lackluster. But otherwise incredible meal!!!!

But the counter service is quick and you won't have to wait long. The full-size po-boys are massive. If you get a Ferty (roast beef, ham, Swiss cheese), bring a construction crew to help you eat it, or be prepared to be eating leftovers for two or three days. I love a good shrimp po-boy, but it's usually too big for me. I have landed on the Shrimp on a bun as a fantastic alternative. It's so overstuffed with shrimp you can't eat it without them falling out. And it is perfectly dressed with just the right amount of lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayonnaise. And the fries! Y'all, the fries are so crispy and delicious, and they also come in a massive amount. Too many for one sitting. This is a place I regularly stop at for lunch when I am in this area.

Here's what we ordered and thought he about it: Appetizer - French toast - toddler loved it but not size not worth the price - Meat pies- 4 tiny meat pies, flavor ok but not worth the price -duck quesadilla - I knew it was questionable with paired with jack cheese but I wanted to give it a try. It was a soggy greasy mess. But th sauce was good. Entrees - Chicken and waffles - decent flavor nothing fancy just decent - Kids Seafood crepe - the sauce was great, try crepes were a bit different but good the only thing missing was THE SEAFOOD. Yep, probably had two shrimp the whole crepe and they were cut in half. - Kida chicken tenders - waaaay too hard for kids to eat. The chicken tasted like charred burnt chicken. Like the third maybe 2nd batch of chicken in hot grease that cooks too fast on the outside so it is much darker, harder, and burned than the first batch. I asked for something else because after trying a piece of thr crust, I knew the kids couldn't eat that. The chef refused to take it back or replace INSTEAD he gave extra...like seriously if I feel they couldn't eat the first WHY I WOULD I WANT MORE. Overall, likely not to return. I saw two other tables call server over with issue. One of the deconstructed seafood pivot. Expensive and a waste of money. It was 3 towers of French bread with shrimp in a cream sauce. I saw the waitress tell the guy that it was filled with shrimp in the middle. Well, he opened his up and it was nothing but dry bread. He was visibly pissed. I'm glad I didn't order the full entree seafood crepes but I would have been upset with the amount of seafood which was shrimp only in it.

When I tell you that was top 5 best salmon I've ever eaten. It was so flavorful and moist. It was PERFECTLY seasoned and cooked. The spinach, veggies, and potatoes were an excellent touch of freshness. I will definitely be back for the salmon. The Caesar salad was also divine. In fact, I think it's the best Caesar salad I've tried. The dressing is slightly more tart than other Caesar dressings; however, it's tart in the most palate-pleasing way. The cheese was abundant and fresh, and the romaine was crisp and fresh. I did not try the redfish but our family friend was satisfied. Finally, the warm rolls with that butter are enough to start a fight over for the last roll. I ate 3 at the table, which I never do. They're so light, buttery, and are served warm. The butter is possibly a whipped garlic butter concoction. I had to stop eating them. Overall, I really enjoyed our dinner. Do not be thrown off by the dated decor--some of the best food comes from places like these. My only hangup is the imported seafood. I'm not a big fan of imported seafood, in general. However, I do not think that takes away from the restaurant if you're looking for a great meal. And I'm mindful that domestic costs are often (and are growing) financially infeasible for some restaurants. Great spot!!
