Food is average at best, service is consistently poor. They always seemed to be understaffed, and the staff that is working always seem to be bothered and uninterested with guests. I've never waited less than 10 minutes to be greeted at the bar, and have had to walk the "bartender" through how to make many simple drinks numerous times. The food here was great! Loved the crawfish tails and the eggplant with shrimp Over linguine. The gumbo was too salty and had nothing but a little sausage. We wanted some okra and shrimp in it!!!! We were driving back from New Orleans to Mississippi and decide to Yelp something different. This place had a few mixed reviews but I'm very glad we made the drive to come eat here because it was well worth it. The chargrilled oysters were cooked to perfection and the crawfish tails looked like they were on steroids before the were beautifully fried up for my highly antispating taste buds! My wife had the corn and crab bisque and it was the best we have ever had. Soft shell crab and crab cakes put us over the top! Both were very impressive, they we seasoned well and were bursting with flavor. Only reason it didnt give it five stars was because it took a pretty good while (over an hour) for the food to come out when the restaurant was only about half capacity. We stopped for lunch at Frenier Landing on our way from New Orleans to Natchez. There was a beautiful virw off the covered deck and the indoor part of the restaurant is tastefully decorated. The staff was very friendly, and our waitress was prompt and attentive. We started with an order of hush puppies which were served with ketchup or butter (we chose butter). The hush puppies came out hot and crispy, but soft on the inside. They had the slightest kick of spice to them which made them even better, and the butter was an excellent addition. I ordered the stuffed catfish which came with sides of french fries and nixed veggies. It was delicious and perfectly cooked! The veggies were well seasoned and the battered fries were great too. My mom ordered the shrimp and grits special and it was also fantastic. The grits were done with sun dried tomatoes and gouda and the shrimp were blacked. They paired beautifully. read more

We had dinner while visiting Laplace. We had a delicious seafood dinner at Frenier's Landing on the Lake. We had a nice view. The fried green tomatoes and fried crawfish appetizers were so good. All of our dinner was amazing. I had a crisp salad that had a generous portion of lump crap in the center. Hubby ordered the seafood platter after seeing the plate being delivered to a nearby table. Everything was cooked and prepared to our liking. The seafood was fresh. We will definitely be back when in the area again. I recommend making a reservation because they do fill up. read more

Nice atmosphere on the lake but the food is expensive and inconsistent. They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights in the oyster bar. I prefer going to the oyster bar and have a few drinks and listen to the music. read more

This wasn't the worst dining experience I've ever had, but far from the best. The food wasn't plated very well and there wasn't a whole lot of it considering the costs. The food took forever to get from kitchen to table. The chef kept coming out of the kitchen focusing on one table while his kitchen was falling behind. We ate there late Sunday afternoon. We sat outside and enjoyed looking at the lake, the birds, and the shrimp boat that was trawling. We had a crab cake appetizer and grilled oyster appetizer. Both were very good. I had the stuffed catfish and was thrilled with how good it was. My friend had the Mediterranean salad topped with crab meat and loved it too. We will be back. read more

Great location and we enjoyed our dinner outdoors. Our server was great and the food came out quickly. My husband had hair in his pasta (probably a fluke) which kind of ruined the meal. It's best to order something Fried. I don't do Yelp, but after my last experience something should be said. On Thursday night, my daughter and I stopped for much needed rest, relaxation and good food. I ordered Shrimp and Grits, the grits were not cooked!!! the flavor was not good at all :(. My daughter ordered crawfish mac n cheese. A TOTAL disappointment. The pasta over cooked, totally under seasoned. The best plate was fried chicken tenders and french fries for my grandson. Our family celebrated a birthday before COVID19. It was 1st visit for some of us. Building is really pretty, and inside is large and welcoming. We had reservations, but there was a walk-in ahead of us who demanded a table after being told there were none. We waited patiently but the hostess seemed unable to handle the situation. After listening to her and the inappropriate customer arguing for about 10 mins. we told her we had a reservation and asked her if she might seat us and then return to the other customer. She did so unwillingly and seated us near a side door that was opening and closing since wait staff was serving outside diners. It was a hot windy day, so we continued to get blown away by hot/humid air. Menu is extensive and has something for everyone. Our group was split on food. Some of us thought food was good, others not so much. I think this place could be really good. But they first need to work out logistical issues, employee training, etc. Hopefully, they will survive the pandemic and become a better restaurant. read more

This restaurant is a gem. A hidden jewel tucked in on the banks of Lake Pontchartrain in LaPlace,LA. The location is gorgeous. It is a little off the beaten path but really easy to get to. The food was so tasty,the staff friendly and attentive,the prices were reasonable. And for me the sign of a good place is how the staff are treated. They weren't terribly crowded, but did have a large group there for a birthday party, so it took a bit longer than expected for our food to come out. However, it was well worth the wait. We started with a crab cake with Louie sauce. It was very meaty with practically no fillers. The sauce complemented the seasoning. There's a good chance that my next meal with them will involve the crab cakes. For dinner, I chose their spinach salad with grilled chicken & warm bacon dressing & hubby had grilled redfish with baby red potatoes & veggies. My salad was more than I could eat & I hate that I gave up any of it. The dressing was unbelievably delicious & went perfectly with the spinach. Hubby didn't speak a word as he was too busy polishing off every bite on his plate. Its a little pricey, so its not a place that we'll run to every week. But I have no doubt that we will return. The only things I didn't enjoy here were the hush puppies and the crab meat. The fried green tomatoes were a great appetizer. The crabmeat was made with the Louie sauce and its drizzled on top, so the flavor of the crab cake was overpowered by the sauce. I ordered the oysters frenier, and it was perfect! The crawfish were a reboil and had no taste and smelled bad. The catfish was rubbery. I would advise against going here,ever. Our waitress was good, but it took an hour to find and speak to a manager and about 45 minutes to receive our meals. Blah food, TERRIBLE service! We came here because it ranked highest on Yelp! As we had a large party, we were able to sample a lot of dishes and overall, the food quality was uneven--just as other reviewers had mentioned. The atmosphere is fine, I've seen better views of the lake. What made this a terrible place to dine is the service. It's hot/humid out so we ask for water right off the bat, "Are you sure? Our tap water is from a well and it tastes really eggy." She then went on to tell us we really should buy bottled water instead. Okay......so the restaurant can't even service palatable water. We get a few small sized bottles of water and she bring out cups---with ice---most likely made from the well water. One person got the well water and it tasted fine, those of us sucker in by her water spill had to pay $2 per small bottle!!!! The other thing was that the kids meals were $6 and that didn't include a drink! We then went on to have terrible service with everyone's dishes coming out several minutes apart. Condiments arrived lost after everything was cold. The kicker was the waitress charge and 18% automatic tip, which was smart, but then hoping we wouldn't notice that charge, she brought out the signature receipt---minus the itemized list---clearly in the hopes we didn't notice and would tip again. So....if you're at one of the swamp tours, AVOID--- AVOID---AVOID because for lost less, you can get a much better meal elsewhere and not find yourself given the "eggy" water speech. read more

The waitress was very nice and helpful. I had the crab cakes and they were just ok. They were oily when I moved them you could see the oil sitting on the plate. The mixed veggies were from frozen and cooked to death very soggy and bland. The glass of water tasted like oil and salt it was not drinkable. The only reason of the 3 stars is the wait staff.
