Review is not for the food as we never had a chance to order. Nobody in the store when we arrived. We walked straight up to poke counter and waited to be assisted. . Nobody helped us or acknowledged us. We waited a minute and another person walks in, stands next to us at poke show case and employee takes her order. We walked out. I usually don't write reviews on Yelp anymore, but this situation was so disappointing and unnecessary, I think it needs to be shared. Called in an order today for pick up and the girl who answered the phone was very rude - something I didn't expect based on the positive reviews here. We ordered a beef stew plate and 2 lbs of poke (one of which was taegu). She wasn't sure if they had any taegu left as she kept saying "Ok 1 lb of taegu, IF we have it in stock". She repeated herself twice. We asked her if she can just check if they have it because if they don't, we want to modify it over the phone instead of fixing it at the time of pick up. I didn't think this was an unreasonable request, especially since she was so adamant in saying IF they have it in stock. After giving us more of an attitude, she went to check and then quickly rushed us off the phone. We didn't even have a chance to ask how long it'll take before we can pick up. This interaction left us feeling uneasy and unwelcomed. We ended up calling her back a minute later to cancel the order. She was rude again and told us that our order was already ready (which is unlikely, since it wasn't even a full minute since we last hung up with her). There was no reason for her to be so rude to us, especially since we simply asked her to check if there's any poke left. We really like the food here but we most likely won't be coming back based on this poor experience. Management - please assess your employees and rehire accordingly. They close on random days and it's not always the best place to sit down and eat in, but that said their poke is damn good and one of the best we have found on island. They always have a variety of fresh poke available. The sauces are unique and change with what's available or what's in season. They do run out of things but it keeps it from sitting around and going mushy. They are always contestant. Our favourite is the smoke tako. The online site had some issues with credit card entry glitches and I was unable to complete the order online. I called the order in instead. While enroute to a potluck in Kaneohe, Fresh Catch was on the way. Stopped by to grab some poke. Fresh Catch is on the main drag through Kaneohe on Kamehameha Highway. Lots of parking. Lots of poke selections to choose from, but I mainly went the limu ahi poke standard. Did get a quarter pound of pipikaula poke to try. Grabbed and was gone in less than 10 minutes. Both pokes were a hit at the potluck, fresh and tasty. Definitely want to come back and try some of the others when I visit Kaneohe next. Recommend and will repeat! read more

At the store, we had samples that were great, but when I got home and started to eat the pieces that I bought ($16.99/lb.) I was SOOOOOO disappointed! The majority of pieces in the bag were fatty, oily, and mushy; as compared to the other piece (and samples) that were tender, flaky, and tasty. See the pics, it was so fatty it was disgusting...unpalatable...I honestly think that they should've known it wasn't right when they grabbed the piece and subsequently cut it into pieces. I came here to appease my husband. Considering I'm not huge on seafood. He got a poke plate that consisted of I don't know what but claimed it was delicious. One of the best he's had so far on this trip and he's gotten poke several times already. I got the furikake salmon. Because he got the poke his food was served immediately. I never have him wait for me to get my food since his comes with hot rice and I don't like the hot sitting with the cold for too long. He finished his entire plate before I got my food and maybe 5-10 minutes after he was done the workers realize we haven't received our food yet. Apparently the machine didn't print our ticket in the back so they never got our order which means a longer wait. This would have dropped my rating by at least 1 star maybe 2, however, I never had to check on my order because they realized it before I did. Also, to compensate for their mistake, they gave us a free order of poke which they did not have to do. And to top it off, they apologized multiple times for their mistake. As for the furikake salmon, I was not excited about it when I ordered it. Even less so while I had to wait for so long, but OMG! Was I ever surprised at how amazing it was. Melt in your mouth, cooked and seasoned perfectly! The flavors complimented one another and I could not stop eating! It was aces! Overall, even with the delay in my order, I would definitely return and recommend this place to friends and family. I love that fresh catch offers raw and cooked items. They have daily specials as well as their usual menu. I enjoy their spicy Hawaiian poke which is a spicy ahi with limu and their Hawaiian blend which has a sweater take to it. I've had different cooked menu items all that have never failed, however the last two visits I ordered the real crab sandwich! New favorite in my books. I think I'm going to have to pass. After hearing good things about this place from a few people, I had high expectations, and was expecting to be blown out of the water. Wish that were the case. Ordered the crab stuffed ahi. Had something similar at the Food Company. If it could be rated on smell, it would be given five stars! Unfortunately that's not the case. First off, lets just say this, it is a heart attack on a platter, and extremely rich. I could barely finish 3 whole pieces (Comes with 6-7). Now, the ahi is much like a roll. Stuffed with crab filling, and deep fried. It wasn't crispy as you would have expected, it's actually soft. What I didn't like was the fact that it was crab overload. I hardly tasted the ahi. A bummer there. It also comes with a light mayonnaise dipping sauce, and a little side of furikake. Don't get me wrong, it had good flavors, the crab tasted like crab, but I think it was just too much. I would like to be able to finish my food, and not have to stop because I get an upset stomach. One of the best places in Kaneohe! I first had a Fresh Catch poke bowl at an event at the Bishop Museum. I love that you can choose brown or white rice. They were generous with the poke too! The store front in Kaneohe has personality and rustic nautical charm. My experience has always been great with customer service, once they see you a few times they know your name and they remember what you ordered and make suggestions for other menu items to try. Being a creature of habit I have tried at least a half dozen different types of poke. All were great! I do on occasion order a plate lunch for myself but mainly for my family. We have devoured the stuff crab ahi, ahi katsu, smoke meat, fried chicken, teri furikake salmon, and the miso teri mahi. They have prepared meats you can purchase to throw on the grill. Also available are a vast assortment of drinks, including beer. Rumor has it... they might be adding on a drive through! That would be great, the only drive through for poke and beer! LOL! I am sure the Kaneohe gang will be there all the time. For the folks that gave this place a low rating, I suggest you give them a try again. Happen to be in Kaneohe and stopped by, good selection of fresh poke reasonable prices. I ended up getting the Teri furukake salmon. Very good! Perfectly cooked and the mayo/furukake mixture was perfect! Large portion and I asked for no starch all salad and they gladly accommodated. Lettuce they use is good not those prepackaged types. Dressing tastes homemade. Casual place but Ono food. It got busy right before closing with people from the beach and people on their way home.
