Loads of fries covered in ketchup, white sauce and a little hot sauce. Topped with ground gyro bits. It definitely beats boring old chili fries! Falafel Snack: The falafels had a nice crispy exterior. However, the interior felt a bit bready instead of that nice grainy chickpea center I prefer. It was tasty for sure, but just not as hearty as I like.

Noticed a new gyro food truck in the area one day and made sure we went back to visit another day. Glad we did because their gyro wrap, white sauce and meat over fries with that white sauce as well is delicious. The food is cooked to order and is served fresh just like in the name. The service is friendly, you have a couple of tables to sit and eat but they don't hVe drinks. They will direct you to the store at the gas station. I definitely recommend this place and we have already been back.

Looking for a late night snack while in town, we had our eye on the pizza truck but its lights were off, so we decided to check out Fresh Gyro Halal near our hotel. Nate got a gyro and I got chicken tenders. The food didn't take long to make and it was all fresh and hot, and nicely packaged for our quick walk back to our hotel. Nate declared this gyro as the best he's ever had, and he's eaten a lot of them so I believe him. I did try some and thought it was quite tasty - I particularly liked that the meat wasn't dry as it sometimes can be on a gyro. He really enjoyed the "spicy sauce," although we're not sure what it was. The chicken tenders were good because they were freshly fried and came with ranch AND bbq sauce. Overall this seems like a great spot for a late night snack or quick dinner.

This is reviewing their east slaughter location. We ordered a combo plate, dolmas and a coke for a quick midweek dinner from here and it was delicious. The serving size was huge for both items so plenty for two people to share (with 2 dolmas left over for later). White sauce was delish and so was their hot sauce (they gave us extra at no additional cost which is rare so very much appreciated). My only complaint is that a can of Coke was $2 - pricey for sure but when you need a cold coke with dinner it is what it is (plus they did give us extra sauce so it all evens out). Would definitely go back for more!

Gyro meat is probably my favorite comfort food and for lunch drop today I was so excited to see Fresh Gyro Halal. I asked for extra sauce on the app and they delivered. I am so appreciative of that because you know most places don't always acknowledge the notes. The portion size was perfect, the lettuce was still crispy when it arrived and the gyro melts in your mouth. I would 10/10 seek this place out on my own versus waiting for it to come back on lunch drop #supportlocal

Sometimes you need something that hits the spot at the end of the night. This is that place. We stopped by looking for something hot and delicious. I don't like dropping a lot of money on food truck food but I was willing to pay anything for food at that point. i order a a basic gyro and the man had it in my hands in four minutes. IN FOUR MINUTES. There were a considerable amount if people there too so when I unwrapped it I had a healthy level of skepticism die to the speed but it did not disappoint. It was fresh, it was filling, it was $10

Late night pizza...you have officially been benched. A friend insisted we drop by this truck right by Stereotype before calling it an evening after some bar hopping and after my first bite into the makeshift bowl of pure goodness I felt foolish for suggesting we share. I stand by it sober, too, as the next day my leftovers gave me life again (the pita was still beautifully soft!). If you're in the area and need grub to soak up some alchy or just because, THIS place should be your number one. It's not good for you, but damn is it gooooooooood. read more

Let's chat about French fries. French fries, mannnnnn who doesn't love a good french fry? But they often lose their starchy golden magic as soon as they go cold. I have ordered Fresh Gyro Halal's french fries via Uber Eats 4 times and each time they are still delicious. Delicious, tasty and crispy DELIVERY french fries?!!! Almost impossible but this place does it. They are covered in ketchup, a spicy red and creamy white sauce. You could probably get that on the side and they'd be even crisper but honestly the sauces are amazing so don't skip it. The dolmas are tender and flavorful. The hummus is super creamy and smooth. Pita is high quality and never dry. My husband's gyro...devoured. There seems to be a lot of halal options in Austin but please give this place a try. My food delivery from them has always been carefully packaged, correct every time (which is also almost impossible) and they even accommodate my requests for extra sauce no problem. Tuesday during the snowstorm this spot found a way to stay open and fed a massive line of people until they ran out of food. We were out of power and food and it was my only warm meal that day as I'm sure was the same for many others. Best gyro and beef shawarma wrap we have ever had. Super juicy, filled with flavor, and the pita bread was flamed to perfection. Found this walking by headed for a night out, and was happy we stumbled upon this food truck. The owner is also very pleasant, and was working on his own when we came. This place is shockingly good! It's easy to find "good" gyro shops but this is a really "great" one. There's one thing I am picky about when it comes to halal or mediterranean meat places -- I'm not huge on dairy, so I prefer a more mayoy white sauce as opposed to a more yogurty white sauce. This place definitely has a more mayoy sauce that still has a nice vinegar bite to it. The owner is from Iraq and is super kind. The meat tasted perfectly seasoned and cooked. Honestly I would prioritize eating here again. Thank you! read more

My boyfriend does Uber Eats and the order was taking a long time because of the lunch rush and the owner was so cool, he hooked him up with a wrap...my boyfriend brought it back to me and I swear that was THE BEST WRAP IVE EVER HAD!!! i'll be honest the first 2 times I got this place I didn't like it AT ALL and told myself I would never go back there again. Both of those times I got a Chicken Gyro Wrap .I just felt like it wasn't ever wrapped properly, the gyro wrap was too thick and overpowering and there wasn't much flavor in the stuffing. Fast forward a few months my friend wanted to try it again , very reluctant to do so I agree but we end up just sharing a combination platter and Fries with the white and red sauce. HOLY DELICIOUS, The platter was so flavorful , also had a lot of fresh veggies ( lettuce cucumber olives) and the fries were out of this world they were so so crunchy and fresh, almost reminded me of mcdonald fries and the sauces really complemented the fries. We got it 2 more times after and the platter and fries were consistently amazing. will continue going and their portions are big too ! read more

This trailer is the bomb. Spicify how much sauce you want because it can be a spicy. Highly recommend the chicken and gyro over rice or salad. Wraps are great and filling, too! I like the dolma but you don't have to. The hummus here is great but perhaps a little bit too generous. But maybe not! read more

Awesome Gyro. We had just arrived in Austin and were looking for a place to eat and this was one of the few places open. The lamb was cooked perfectly. The tzatziki sauce had a little spice to it which was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely eat here again if in the Austin area. read more

I have been in the restaurant industry for 25 years now and finding little gems like this site are my passion. I tried an unnamed gyro spot by Zilker park last week and could barely give it a 1. This spot by comparison is a 5 without a doubt. The gyro was LOADED with meat and the flavors explode. So close to 6th street bars..... folks this is a must do late nite run. I even walked back to my car before eating and after that 15 minutes the gyro and fries were still piping hot. This place rocks..... read more

Love this food truck. Just moved into the area and found this gem. Was really missing halal coming from NYC, and this place did not disappoint! Service was pleasant and food was delicious. This was awful I ordered through favor and when I opened my wrap there were just crumbs of meat not even one slice. I called them hoping they would make right on there mistake but instead the guy took zero responsibility and then hung up. I've been to Israel and I'm from NY so I've eaten plenty of gyros this was the worst read more

I was glad we were seated outside though because even though it was a warm evening, their fans were very effective creating a constant gentle breeze. The music enhanced the experience with a fun and upbeat vibe. I truly felt like was sitting at club/bar/restaurant during a cool summer night in Greece! Just incredible. The staff were also great! Friendly and accommodating from the time we checked in for our reservation. Our server was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with my gluten sensitivity! The food was delicious too. Shout out to the chefs! The village salad (also reminded me of a traditional Greek village salad) was refreshing, the hot honey halloumi was like nothing I have ever tasted before, I regret not ordering extra to-go!, the Lamb chops made me feel like we were celebrating Easter - the seasoning was spot on and cooked to perfection, the Lamb and beef kefta with rice was also tasty, but the lamb chops are the clear winner. Don't forget to get dessert! If you have a gluten sensitivity like me, you are safe with the Pistachio Panna Cotta. It was a flavor high I didn't want to end! Lol. But seriously, it was super delicious, sweet, and just the right portion. Also FYI: we shared every plate. It's the way to go there, and I'm glad our server recommended that we order everything up front and they simply bring it out as each plate is ready. I ordered the pannacotta my son the chocolate chocolate cake. I absolutely loved mine with the sorbet on top. My son loved his cake. Atmosphere wise the restaurant is beautiful and cozy and grand but the only complaint would be the music was too loud and it was hard to hold a conversation.
