This is fusion like I haven't seen before. Everything was fresh, fresh, fresh--the tea was sublime, the sirloin a perfect medium-rare, the sweet potato noodles delicate and surprising. Loved the wine sauce for the steak, but the meat was so good it wasn't needed. The restaurant was calm yet had the comfortable feel of your neighborhood family restaurant. The food was as if Asian, macrobiotic, and steakhouse got together and laid out an elegant dining experience. The chef took our order (we went on a Wednesday night) and brought us our dinner. We tried sirloin, pork loin, and chicken, and everyone had a great meal. One of the party ordered a lentil soup as well as the dinner, and we all restrained ourselves and let him keep it (next time, three lentil soups!) The almond ginger salad dressing was a favorite. Allow yourself time to study the menu, as it's a cross between a national chain menu and an involved Chinese restaurant menu. The lady who cleared for us was very nice and clearly spoke no English, so come prepared for a new bridging experience. (The chef spoke excellent English.) Worth a drive up 183. Food is exceptional although a little overpriced. The menu is complicated and the server doesn't explain it very well. My wife and I went in for a Friday night dinner to top off the week. Our dreams were quickly shot as we sat for 15 minutes without even being asked for our drink order. For some reason the couple that came in 10 minutes after us were served their drinks before us. We were totally ignored. The place felt like a morgue. There were only a handful of people in the restaurant, so one would think that service would be pretty easy. This is the first review I've ever given on Yelp. I was so impressed with the food at this restaurant that I wanted to comment. Besides being one of the nicest presentations I've seen in a while, the food is fresh, delicious and a good value. I had the sirloin steak in wine sauce with steamed vegetables. The steak was exactly as I like it and the almond ginger sauce I chose for the vegetables was delicious. For me, the portion size was just right for a nice meal without being too stuffed. The restaurant itself wasn't too crowded, and the classical music in the background was very pleasant and not too loud. It was easy to carry on a nice conversation. There are sauce choices, so I picked teriyaki sauce on the steak and peanut pecan sauce on the salad. (Side note: Someone came into the restaurant a few minutes after I ordered and I overheard them order the same dish and sauces, so I was even more excited for my meal.) My food arrived fairly quickly. Everything on the plate was artfully arranged and reminded me of a colorful flower. It was delicious! - Steak was tender. - Japchae, i.e. sweet potato noodles were savory and chewy. - Salad was excellent. The vegetables were all thinly chopped and easy to chew -- fresh purple cabbage can be a pain to eat if it's not sliced thin. The peanut pecan salad dressing came in a cup and was nutty and sweet. I used about 2/3 of my dressing. - Fruit was a nice touch. I set aside the pineapple, strawberry, and grapes and had them at the end as a dessert of sorts. They were already in bite-sized pieces. The plate had a healthy balance of vegetables (salad), carbs (noodles), protein (steak), fruit, and fat (dressing). It was filling and left me feeling satisfied until dinner. It wasn't the kind of fullness you get from eating a bunch of carrot sticks and plain popcorn... where you want to eat more anyways . It also didn't make me feel heavy or lethargic, which tends to happen when I eat fast food and Southern comfort food. ADDITIONAL NOTES: It seems like Nancy's Sky Garden has a similar concept and dishes, so I'll probably go there as well to compare the taste/concept/prices. And this isn't related to the food, but I feel like the freshheim.com website has room for improvement. The font matches the colorful food theme but some of it is hard to read (esp. the Features section and the Owner's Greeting). Also, clicking the Menu icon takes you to a list with no hyperlinks; you have to use the dropdown to actually visit any of the menu pages. Had the sirloin steak which just melted in my mouth. It was accompanied by a nice portion of wild rice (several varieties) and steamed veggies and fruit. Steak was 8 oz and price was 15.95..for that at some hi - end restaurants that will barely get you a side salad. Hands down 5 stars for this spot. The name is a bit confusing, you think you're getting German food, but upon arrival you immediately notice the Asian inspired menu. The people are extremely nice and the food is beautiful when served and healthy as well. However, the food is not flavorful in the least. The sauces and dressing which could be used to nudge up the flavors are very bland so the food is still tasteless even with these additions. I do want to like it like I do the restaurant in Georgetown that serves similar looking food but then also knocks it out of the park with quality, flavors, and spices. All the positive reviews don't lie. We try to go here once a week to eat their wonderful food. Salad: I've never enjoyed a salad as much as I do theirs. The salad has a nice assortment of foods on it, including several sliced fruits. Each meal comes with either salad or steamed veggies. Some entree options do not come with the steamed veggies option, and only with salad option. Since the salad is so good, I won't bother trying the steamed veggies. Each salad comes with a sauce option. I normally just eat the salad without putting any of the sauce on it, or use just a small amount. Starch: With each meal, and in the center of the salad, is a starch option of rice, noodles, or potato. The rice is the best-tasting rice I've had. It seems to be whole grain, with some husks still on maybe. I normally do not eat rice; this is the only place I choose to eat rice. The noodle is good, and seems like it might be low glycemic index. I have not tried the potato yet. I really should though since I know potato has a very high satiety index. From what I've seen, the potato is largely unadorned. Meat: The steak is some of the best I've had. I am a steak semi-snob who never used to eat anything except prime until that just became too hard to find in nearby restaurants. Sure, this is not prime, but it is normally perfectly cooked. At lunch, you get sliced steak, which is almost just as good, but can be prepared faster. Each meat option comes with a sauce. I have not tried the other meat options, other than the tofu. The tofu seemed good to me. I don't eat tofu normally, so I'm a bad person to judge it. I did like that the teriyaki sauce was not really sweet like it normally is. Appetizers: The lentil soup is very tasty. It seems hardly seasoned at all, but you taste the ton of vegetables in it, which is very good. We were given some samples of the seafood salad once and that was good. Drinks: We like the hot ginger tea. It is very spicy, so be forewarned. Dessert: The green tea ice cream was tasty. read more

Great, healthy, delicious food! The chicken breast was moist and really tasty, with both the teriyaki and the balsamic sauces. The salad and the steamed veggies are both good choices, as well. Love this place! Simple concept and wonderfully fresh and tasty ingredients. Essentially, at dinner, for meal you pick protein (steak, chicken, pork, or tofu) then salad (fresh greens with lots of carrots, avocados, etc and fruit or steamed veggies with fruit), and starch (noodles, rice, or potatoes). Then you get to choose from their list of sauces for the salad and the meat. All sauces come in little dishes on side, which I loved! I got the filet steak and it was AMAZING. And beautifully presented with asparagus spear on top! I loved the oriental sauce with it. Steamed veggies with the balsamic soy sauce were great too. Fruit was so good (pineapples, grapes, strawberries). I also got potatoes which were great with steak (they come cut into medallions and covered with a little melted cheese). Everything was expertly cooked. The steak was cooked to perfection. My husband got chicken with mango sauce, which was great too, but steak was the real star here. I loved that all the veggies were steamed and not cooked in oil or anything. So happy to have such a fresh and healthy place nearby! Went to Fresh Heim today and was wonderfully surprised. We arrived early at 4:15 PM and were graciously seated to tunes of softly playing piano music. Our waitress (one of the owner's daughters) was cordial and knew the menu well...very sweet young lady. As we began looking over the menu we were served freshly brewed rose tea...one of their many tea selections (iced of course as it's 103' outside). I chose pork tenderloin with the vegetable/fruit plate and red rice. It came with a mango sauce and a ginger sauce as well. The pork was delicately seasoned, succulent and topped with their mango sauce/bean sprouts. The fruit/vegetable plate (strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, avocado, mixed lettuces was cool and delicious...all fresh...the veggies steamed and crisp). Dessert...homemade peach cobbler...what a treat! My son had the sirloin steak...expertly cooked medium and nicely seasoned. Alongside, his fruit and vegetable plate came with a bias-cut potato and for dessert cinnamon apple pie. While looking over all the selections I also noticed vegetarian offerings that sounded intriguing. What surprised me most is that the restaurant does not add sugar, MSG or other additives and is also diabetic friendly.
