We were looking for a restaurant for dinner on Main Street on Monday night. We were too tired to explore the area, so we took the tour guide's recommendation and went to the restaurant. We ordered fried calamari, clam chowders soup, 1 1/4 pounds lobster meal, baked scallops, and shrimp linguine for two people. It was perfect for two hungry seafood eaters. i went here this weekend and it was truly awful. i never yelp review places but this one for me is a must. the service was super slow (the table behind us left bc they never received a server). the place was completely empty for 90% of the time we were there, our waitress only coming to our table every 25-30 minutes. lastly, the food was horrendous i ordered alfredo and it tasted like it was from a can and the chicken had a chewy texture to it... leading to the next morning where i had severe stomach issues and still have them a few days later. i was very disappointed. read more

Had the Cape Cod Ruben, waitress recommended it I was not disappointed, generally ok service. gluten free options for my wife 'Seafood Paella' was not to her liking. Daughter and daughter in laws lobster MAC and cheese had some shell and was oily. My sons lobster roll also had shell bits. Strange oder was coming the restroom like some one overdid it on the beach. The menu was totally different than what was online. The prices were way higher and the dishes that sounded appealing weren't on the menu in the restaurant. I had the Fruits De Mar. It had way too much seasoning I could have choked and the mussels were very questionable. Should have known better by the name. read more

The service was very poor. Food plates were left on the table, it took 15 minutes to fill a drink order, and was just an overall poor experience. At one point I looked around and saw 7 tables empty but still dirty from the people who ate there before. We were staying in Hyannis and was looking for seafood but found something completely better! We had a 20 minute wait but we didn't mind. There's a lot to see around that area. When we were seated the staff was great. Now onto the amazing.... their ribs are to DIE FOR. My family is still talking about it and its been a month ago! They said now that they have had it... they will always compare it to what they tasted at Fresh Ketch. :) Good job guys! read more

Well this place was a disappointment...waited 30 mins for water, 1 1/2 hours to get our food and the food was not even good... Waitress kept saying the manager was going to come to "talk" and he never came!!! I don't know how a place like this is still open!!! read more

so i don't like seafood but my girlfriend wanted lobster so we went to this place. i guess it is good for seafood, i got the chicken parm which was mediocre, but the service was horrible. for the price that i paid i was extremely disappointed with how we were served. we wern't even half way done with our appetizers and they brought out our dinners. i would never recommend this restaurant to anyone and never want to go back. i feel ripped off. but here's the real kicker, i ordered buffalo wings as an app. when I took a bite out of the wing, i realized it was just fried with no buffalo sauce, I let the waitress know, and she took the dish away- returning 2 minutes later with the dish now with buffalo sauce, IN THIS DISH WAS THE HALF EATEN CHICKEN WING ONLY NOW BASTED WITH SAUCE! read more

Very clean, great service, quick service but this rating is solely based on food & taste. I expected more flavor, tried the ketch appetizer: nice variety, reminds me of bar food taste. Stopped here Sunday afternoon in July. No wait, for sat right away, table for 2. Had lobster bisque which was great. Ordered Sweet chili shrimp for an app. WOW WERE THOSE GOOD!! Maybe I should gift them 4 stars, but it just didn't get me all that excited in the limited time I spent there. No happy hour on Sunday that I could tell (false advertising on the tourist area map!) but it is a good spot to drop in on out of the heat. Bar a big tv and they will let you change the channel. 2 stars right there. Justin the bartender was very lively and personable. The clam chowder, however, was a little disappointing- not acceptable in any New England seaside town. Apparently karaoke on Sunday gets good, but my bed just seems like a better place to pass the time tonite. Would give this place another visit for an afternoon of beers and golf, but I'm not sure the prices of food are justified. read more

Decent, but not amazing. Chowder thick and tasty, but small portion. Entrees decent and moderate priced. Loved the side dishes (mashed potatoes and wonderful vegetables). Took a day trip from Boston out Hyannis. This place stuck out to me... Could've been the Sam Adams awnings over the out door tables or the food menu. Either way it was a great a choice. I sat at the bar and was greeted by a very friendly woman. She was quite good at striking up conversation. I ordered a Sam Adams Summer Ale and the Lobster Roll ($18.99). The lobster roll was great. It came on a buttered bun served with a pickle and fresh fries. Most places that serve fries on the side are somewhat okay. I was very impressed with the fries. Not over or under cooked. Nice and crispy. Lol first time I've ever ranted about how great a restaurants fries are. The lobster was fresh and delicious. They keep it simple at the Fresh Ketch which I applaud. Some mayonnaise and the crab meat on a well buttered bun with some shredded lettuce. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. As for the individual posting about having to show his ID. It's a requirement because Mass doesn't cover out of state licenses. For the vegetarians.... It's called the Fresh Ketch hence seafood so highly unlikely they will be specialized in vegetarian dishes. Other than that 5 out of 5 stars!!! read more

We also has an unruly patron who almost derailed our experience but the fresh ketch staff immediately stepped in and handled the situation. All and all a great experience. My wife has food allergies, I've never seen a restaurant go to such lengths to make sure she could eat and not be ill. Wonderful service, the food was outstanding. Carolyn took such good care of us and was patient and pleasant. We'll definitely be back. I had the Fruits de Mer. Horrible service. We were with our three year old that was starving while we watched people that came in after get served there food before us while ours sat on a service try. Not only did we get up and walk out but watched several other couples do the same. I highly recommend skipping this so called restaurant to anyone that visits Hyannis. We went here because my 4 year old wanted lobster. The waitress, Jamie, was very accomodating, as my son has severe allergies. We ordered salads and we also ordered lobster. We were brought bread, salads, and lobster all at once. The waitress, who was friendly enough, did not appear to notice why this is a problem. The lobster was tasty, as were the mash potatoes, but the vegetables were all under cooked. They were hard and my son would not touch them, even though we paid extra to have an extra side, we could never tell her, because she did not return. I did ask to take the salads off. My husband was not impressed and well, needless to say, I am sure for the price we paid, we could have better elsewhere. read more

I came here one afternoon for a late lunch. The service was a bit slow, but overall it was a cute place, and a great location right in downtown Hyannis. I ordered the special, which was a lobster BLT with sweet potato fries, and it was very good (although I don't often eat lobster, so I might not be the best judge...) My friends also seemed to enjoy their food, and they got a swordfish sandwhich and the seafood-reuben. Go for the rolls! Yes, unfortunately that was the high point of the meal. This was my second and last time going to this establishment. I'll bet the bar side gets hopping and the drinks were large so if you're going for cocktails then it's probably worth stopping in if you're on a pub crawl but if you're dining with friends or family then walk on by. The location and parking is what attracts the average tourist to this restaurant. However, the food really misses the mark big time as does the dining area. It looked like the last room in a function hall. I ordered crab cakes and got bread balls. Frozen bread balls. Ugh. The swordfish was flattened and looked like it had been stored in the freezer. The prime rib was fatty and flat like the swordfish as opposed to thick and juicy. Whoever heard of a thin slice of prime rib? I had a baked stuffed lobster and while the lobster itself was cooked fine, there was an overabundance of stuffing which would have been okay if they had crab or lobster in the stuffing but it was all bread stuffing. I felt like I was at Thanksgiving. I had to mine it out with a spoon before I got to the lobster. Burger was overcooked, Shrimp was almost translucent in the scampi meaning it was undercooked. Our waitress was accommodating and friendly. No problems at all there and again, the rolls were hot and delicious. But that was it. Fresh Ketch needs a fresh look at their kitchen. read more

Food (and drinks!) was so good. The waitress was very friendly, and the prices were very fair. My family visited in a large group while on vacation, and they happily accommodated all of us. Clam chowder some of the worst I have ever had.....it is not suppose to have heat other than temperature. Minced clams and giant potatoes and overcooked onions. They also put in a thickening agent which made it like glue. Don't try it...not Cape Cod! read more

First I want to say I called in for reservations and they didn't have them when I went to check in with the hostess, that should have been my first sign. They seated my party of 5 quickly the staff was pleasant and quick to take our orders. Two ordered steak, they were not very good cuts of meat but were done to order, the vegetables were over cooked and the mashed potatoes taste like boxed. My son said the chicken caesar salad was awesome! Another one ordered the crab cakes, I will have to say this these are the worst crab cakes I have ever run across! They were definitely frozen out of a box and mostly filler with peppers, total trash! The last was stuffed cod, horrible I also think this came out of a box from the grocery store! The waitress was definitely embarrassed by the food and was very surprised when we paid the full bill and tipped her generously with most of the food still on the table. So to finish this off I would say if you want a great Caesar salad and water go here but if you want anything else please don't wast your time and money. read more

The waiters/waitresses were nice but overwhelmed and it took them 10 minutes to give us bread, an extra 15-20 minutes to give us our oysters (raw, did not need so much time to prepare), and an additional 20-30 minutes to serve us our entrees. I have to mention that, even though they arrived later, the groups around us were served before us. Overall, I do not recommend eating here if the place is not empty. P.S. I've been going to Hyannis for many years and have always walked past here but never tried it. Decided to try it recently and did not live up to expectations. It took 20 minutes for the waitress to even come to the table after we were seated while everyone around us was being waited on. No one knew what waitress had our table and finally one of the managers came over to get the drink order while waiting for the waitress to finally come over.
