    Spicy Tuna Bowl!
    Jessica J.

Hey FreshFin, thank you for being the very best! In choosing my (iso) birthday meal the other day, my mind went straight here. They have the freshest fish, the most flavorful dishes, and the friendliest team. If I could eat their poke on the daily, I would. Happy to be an ongoing supporter through take-out & delivery during this tough time. Ordering from FreshFin during Covid is seamless and safe. After placing an online order, we arrived to the front door, which prompted us to give them a call. Soon after, an employee in a mask and gloves appeared to pass along our bag of goodies. My favorite dish? Spicy Tuna! Their expertise on blending flavors is perfected in this bowl. Ahi tuna is accompanied by edamame and crunchy cucumber, a spicy punch from the chopped jalapeños, plus crispy onions and a sweet kick from the shoyu and aioli. All of this greatness is packed in a bowl on top of a base of your choosing; I go with the mixed greens. You definitely get the bang for your buck! PSA: the size smaller size, called "regular," is plenty of food. Other good news? Their take-out dishes and supplies are 100% recyclable. Thanks for that too, FreshFin!

I ordered the spicy tuna bowl and it was pretty tasty! It had a nice kick to it but wasn't too spicy. Put together pretty quickly so if you're in a rush this is a good spot. The restaurant is in a fun spot near the lake too!

Super convenient location- great for a meal after rock climbing down the street. Next door is insomnia cookies, for a quick dessert right after, as well as Chubby's across the street! I got the rainbow bowl and my boyfriend got the cilantro chicken. Both very filling although I got the large and he got the regular. Def recommend!

Definitely the best poke place in Milwaukee not only for the quantity, quality and flavor of the food, but also the cleanliness of the restaurant, the speed of service, and the friendliness of the staff. I have been a fan of FreshFin Poke but I go to the one in third ward more often now because of its location. Still want to show some support to this original location and it deserves the support for sure! I ordered a regular sized "Pineapple Tango" with seaweed salads added on top (toppings are free) and my girlfriend made her own bowl. Big bowls, lots of fresh salmon and other ingredients, and appropriate seasonings for both of us. Happy lunch time!

I love everything about FreshFin Poké. FreshFin serves up fresh, sustainable, healthy, and most importantly delicious eats in a sleek, modern, fast casual environment. I've been to this location a number of times and the quality of their ingredients and the varied flavors of their signature bowls keep me coming back. My favorite? The mango tango. Salmon, chopped mango, edamame, avocado, cilantro, thai chili ginger, sweet shoyu, crispy onion, and tobiko on a bed of sticky rice conspire to create a dish that is slightly sweet, surprisingly hearty, and wonderfully flavorful. I trust their expertise when it comes to blending flavors and so I always opt for one of their signature bowls, but you can build your own bowls as well. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food. The service is speedy. We've dined in and ordered take out and it's fine for both. Bonus: all their takeout dishes/supplies are 100% recyclable. Get to it!!

For a poke spot, I was expecting more from the fish from Freshfin but was a little disappointed unfortunately. The Spicy Tuna Bowl wasn't anything special in my opinion and felt a bit rice heavy to me. The Curry Coconut Shrimp on the other hand was actually pretty good. Would definitely recommend this one if you're looking for something unique. The portion sizes were decent, not small by any means, but I just felt like the price was a tad high for what I got overall. Some of their other bowls look good though and I would like to try them in the future, but I don't think their more traditional poke options are for me.

Always freshly made with great ingredients. When I order delivery,it's delivered quicker than requested. When I order for pick up it's been ready to go as I walk in. Everything has great flavor and options to add more items or delete unwanted items.

Okay, so I'm giving this place 3 stars because even though the Poke was really good (honestly it's pretty hard to mess up), I do not think the price is worth it. You would be better off buying sushi grade fish and making your own bowl. It's really easy actually. I think it would be different if they actually filled up the bowl with the ingredients you want, but they don't. I really did quite enjoy the truffle crab salad. Again, this is really expensive. The service was really friendly though. I'll say that. And the place is nice and clean. Ambiance is modern. But it was so cold in there! It's a nice option for gluten-free people and it was a nice, healthier alternative than a lot of other places. But it's not something that I will frequent.

FreshFin Poke is a great addition to Milwaukee's dining experience. Delicious food, great customization options and cute little ambience. The restaurant is small and clean and has enough tables to perhaps fit about 20-30 people. They have seating both indoors and outdoors. The staff is very kind and super helpful. They is an area where you can sit looking outside through the glass wall and it's kind of nice to eat and watch as the traffic goes by. They do catering as well if others are interested in hosting an event which I think is a great idea. The best part about their menu is how you can customize stuff. I liked two different kinds of bowls and ended up getting something in between with the help of their staff. The mango bowl and tuna bowl are amazing! Their are Chicken options as well for those who don't like the raw fish options. They also keep track of your orders from the past so Incase you go back and need something they can look it up. Overall any of the bowls you pick, you will not regret it. This Is going to be one my regulars!

Spicy Tuna bowl on mixed greens - added carrot & seaweed salad
    Lindsay M.

OMG! I am not even done eating my bowl yet and I had to leave a review. This is amazing. I ordered the spicy tuna over mixed greens and it is phenomenal. When I saw you could pay for double the protein, I considered it, but I honestly don't need it. This bowl is filled to the top, there's plenty of tuna and veggie toppings, and it's the regular size which is plenty for me! I love that! Not even sure if I can finish it all. I love that most of the toppings are free, including seaweed salad!? Unheard of. All the toppings are fresh and the flavors combine so deliciously. Reasonably priced for sure. And I ordered online so I was able to pop in and pick it up easily and quickly. Please do not change!!! I am wondering how much money I'm going to be spending here now... I'm addicted!

Condiment wall including several kinds of furikake (Rice seasoning)
    Samantha R.

This is not the best Poké in town--that distinction belongs to Ono Kine Grindz. But it is very good. It's in line with the trend of poke shops that seem to be cropping up all over the place--upscale fast-casual, with an emphasis on customization and healthy ingredients. This isn't a complaint, and the UWM-adjacent area is a good fit for one of these places. I have eaten at the restaurant a few times and also ordered delivery. I like to get the build your own bowl and experiment a little bit. I usually go with white rice as the base and tuna or salmon as the protein. The regular size is big enough for one meal, especially with the new combo option I saw tonight where you can get a side like edamame or seaweed salad with your Poké bowl for a small discount. A large is definitely enough for leftovers. I have taken leftover poke to work for lunch the next day and it's a lot better than I would have imagined. I like the little small touches at the restaurant, like the slightly dimmed lighting and the choice of condiments available including several kinds of furikake (rice seasoning). The reason I actually stopped in tonight is I remembered they have the Rishi turmeric ginger tea available. There are several other teas and juices displayed right by the register as well. My one quibble is that the delivery menu isn't always up to date or in sync with the menu at the restaurant. The poke bowls are the same prices, but the availability and pricing structure of the side items and drinks aren't always quite the same. So I have ordered something once or twice primarily to meet a delivery minimum only to be told it wasn't available. Not a huge deal. If you can make it out it's probably better to go to the restaurant anyway.

A Mango Tango and build-your-own bowl. Almost too pretty to eat! Almost...
    Amy S.

This is the only restaurant that I've ever had poke at so I don't have anything to compare it to, but simply by itself it's absolutely amazing. If you aren't sure what poke is, to me it's like sushi in a bowl. A deconstructed sushi roll if you will. It's a little pricey, but compared to sushi and seafood prices it's right on par. We stopped in on a random Saturday and they weren't very busy. I ordered the Mango Tango, but they were out of mango. That didn't really make sense to me as I feel like you should probably have all the ingredients (especially the main one) for your recipes, but I understand things happen. The cashier informed me they were out and then offered to substitute pineapple and any other ingredient I wanted due to the inconvenience which I appreciated. My husband built his own and had a great time doing so. The wait to get the actual bowls wasn't very long and they are presented very nicely. My only complaint is that I wish the bowls were slightly larger for the amount of ingredients that are in them. It made it very hard to mix up the bowls in order to get a bite of everything in one go. Or maybe serve a plate underneath them so we could potentially dump it out and mix it up. Or maybe I'm just eating it all wrong and I shouldn't be mixing it up. Regardless, the flavors blended beautifully and it was delicious. You felt full after but not that 'gross I can't move full'. It was more of a happy, pleasantly comfortable sort of full. I was excited to hear that FreshFin was opening a second location, albeit downtown. And all I can do is hope that in the near future they'll open one farther west in the burbs for those of us that aren't city dwellers!

After a couple of visits, Hidden Kitchen has landed on my list of favorite food trucks!…read more You may have seen Hidden Kitchen mentioned or listed at several physical locations because they sell pizzas out of MobCraft Brewery, offer catering, work from their food truck at various places around town, and recently set up a location with a commercial kitchen at the Eleven25 at the Pabst Food Hall at 1125 N. 9th. Street in Milwaukee. The Eleven25 location primarily sells hot or take-n-bake pizzas and fresh sandwiches. I think you'll currently get a better idea of their cooking skills from the food truck. The menu offers a handful of items, with most being seafood dishes, but there non-seafood options, as well as desserts. I enjoyed their lobster roll at the NEWaukee Night Market last summer, and recently LOVED their lamb gyro and crab cakes! They use actual lamb shoulder for the gyro instead of the strips of processed meat you typically get at a gyro joint. The lamb is tender and perfectly seasoned! The crab cakes are made with claw meat and they were perfectly crisp and delicious! I capped off the most recent meal with a slice of their key lime pie, and it exceeded my expectations. The pie crust is a bit fragile on the side, so it may detach from the pie filling when you get close to it, but the flavor and texture are right on! Now, I have their Mahi Mahi tacos and Reuben on my to-do list, based on the rave reviews I've seen on social media, but the menu changes often, so I hope I can keep up!

As of 2026, you can ride the shuttle if you either a.) buy two drinks or b.) buy a $10 voucher which can be used for food or drink then or another time. Their shuttle goes to Brewer games as well! We got a drink and the bus showed up not too long after, we were the first on the small bus but it quickly filled. I would say don't be like us, give yourself more time to get there in case the shuttle waits for people or traffic is bad by the destination. My only complaint is on the way back from the fest, the driver took the wrong ramp and we were headed to Bayview until the first exit was available. He didn't communicate that to us which was weird. "Oops, sorry everyone" would have been a normal thing to say. At that point we were Vier South instead of Vier North. Recently we came back to use our vouchers for dinner, the plan was fish fries because we're always on the hunt for a good one. The fish pieces were smaller and you get 4 (my photos make it look larger). We joked it's more like cod nuggets, I'd prefer 2 larger pieces with more fish inside. Some of what you saw was batter and not fish so a little deceiving. The fries and coleslaw were good but we didn't like the sweeter tarter sauce. Overall we were very full but for me, I wouldn't get the fish fry again not due to taste but fish fries are expensive everywhere and I prefer more fish and thinner batter. Next time, I'd try a burger. The cloud bread was on my list to try for a long time but it was just okay in my opinion. Their pizza looks good too so I want to try some other items on the menu. The service was fine, I think we came around a shift change so several people helped us. The interior was well done, it looks so much better now and that patio is a great addition. The bar near the bathrooms has a little sitting area that looked chill. They have poker nights and other fun things so check it out!
