The Saturday morning crew on 4/11/26 were some of the sweetest people. I didn't get anyone's name but leaving this so they get some recognition. This place has a cute atmosphere and was bustling with life, warmth, and friendship. I love to see a place where people of all ages parents and kids included feel comfortable. The Matcha I got was perfectly prepared. As a small group we got several different croissants, quiche lorraine, a veggie quiche, and two pretzel sandwiches to share. Everything was beautifully prepared. The quiches were our favorite items.

We went here for national pretzel day. The pretzel was so good they make their bread homemade and you can smell it. The chai latte was good but a little too strong in my opinion like I tasted the herbs a little too much. The veggie bagel was good because it felt refreshing light, not too filling. You do have to bus your own tables, though

The best way to start your day is with a hearty breakfast. This is an excellent spot for that. The interior was very elegantly decorated.

Another stop over. Been a while, traveling through and left I-5 North to stop here. It's worth the detour. Food is good, staff is pleasant and they make a perfect Caramel Macchiato. Environment is relaxing, well lit with covered outdoor seating also a available.

Hubby surprised me with an artisan bread last week, he said it was on NE Glisan. Today, we went there to try them for brunch. There was a line, like last time he said, but not very long. It was crowded, indoors, (they have patio covered seating, too) but we were able to get a table. He ordered the Quiche Lorraine and it came with a salad. I ordered the Pretzel Bun Grilled Ham Sandwich, it came with greens and fried egg. Both are delicious, served warm. The dressing was good, too! All in all, the meal was a perfect size portion for both of us, and there was no leftovers! . We bus your own table. Friendly service. Maybe, next time, we'll try their soup. We did bought another loaf of their artisan white bread. Negatives: 1. The restrooms, though was a little confusing for me. "Restrooms right around the corner." So, I went around the corner, where there was a red curtain, to my right. I went inside the kitchen, where the staff were making breads, and I have to ask where the restrooms were. I didn't know, it was 'around the corner' just behind the wall from Order Counter, turn left, and it's on the right. It could have been a bit clearer and cleaner. 2. When we got there, there were not enough forks. I don't like using plastic!

I met an old friend for lunch, and she suggested this location because one of her kids was obsessed with it. It was pretty easy to understand why once we got there. A classic German bakery, offering a variety of breakfast and lunch options, pastries, And drinks. The location includes an outdoor seating area which looks to be excellent in the spring and summer; we opted for an indoor table given the weather. Slightly rustic, very homey, this was an inviting space. We ordered at the counter where we had the opportunity to peruse many of the baked goods. After ordering, our drinks and food items were delivered. I had the quiche, Lorraine, which was served with a light side salad with a very tasty vinaigrette. It was fluffy and delicious. My companion had the breakfast sandwich minus the aïoli. She said it was quite good. I also had a chocolate croissant which sadly did not survive long enough to have its photograph taken. On the whole, a very enjoyable experience, and I will definitely be going back.

Disclaimer: I have no German knowledge or heritage, therefore, I have no clue as to how "authentic" this place may be, but it sure as hell is a great place if I do say so myself. The kitchen was closed on a weekday morning (messed up gas line) when we got there, but we were able to order an assortment of pastries: Bavarian croissant, almond brioche, a franzbot, Nutella swirl, spinach and feta danish, and 2 pretzels. And Everything was damn delicious, let me tell you. We ordered their special drink, a pistachio latte, and this was the only "let down" from the hodge podge we ordered: we couldn't taste any pistachio and the beans tasted burnt. Def recommend a stop here guys!!

Came for the bfast sando and ended up in also getting another 5 or so pastries. The sando was good and not too heavy. The pastries though were all very good especially that Nutella roll thing. Didn't have anything I wouldn't have again there only wished I lived nearby. It's self service (order at front, they bring to your number, you bus) and some of the tables/seating were dirty needing a wipe down so wish they were on that better as we got there at 9am so a bit surprising but everything else is good. A decent amount of seating for a cafe both indoors and out.

Always see them at the PSU Farmers Market on Saturdays so wanted to checkout their brick and moertar spot. Super cute and cozy place with plenty of seatings inside and outside. It does have that Bavarian/German beer hall energy to it which was very fun! I have been meaning to try out their pastries but unfortunately the ones I had my eyes were out so alas, guess I'll just have to come back. Instead, we tried a Breakfast Sandwich and a Pretzel Sandwich. The breakfast sandwich we got was a fun take on the usual, using pretzel bun, bratwurst, and curry sauce! It was freshly made, egg was well-cooked, and the cheese was gooey while being crispy on the edges; big fan! The pretzel sandwich was also very delicious. It's served with a larger pretzel and filled with fresh greens, brie, and ham. Love the mustardy dressing for the greens which was very flavorful and refreshing. We also got drip coffee to go with the meal and it's bottomless and self-serve. Staffs were all super friendly and nice. We bought a few bread from them close to closing and they gave us a bunch of free goodies! They're a bit far away for us but we totally would like to be a regular here. They do close pretty early and their pastries do run especially on the weekends so do plan accordingly or try to catch them at the market.

Delightful bakery that speaks my heritage DNA. Food was delicious and well made. Coffee is hot and smooth. Service is friendly and helpful. Ambiance was comfortable, seemingly a locals favorite hangout. Five stars because I can't find anything wrong with it. It met our needs for a stop off on a trip north, great coffee and breakfast bagel. I won't embarrass myself naming what we took to go. Worth the detour.

Walking in less than an hour before closing, we were surprised to see most of the items still in stock! We ended up picking four things to try: Vanilla Bean Kouign Amann ($7) - This pasty has a sweet yet salty exterior that's complementary in flavor rather than clashing. It's accentuated with a crunchy glazed and caramelized sugar layer that's on the sweeter side. The interior is interesting. There's a cavernous gap right in the center that's filled with a sickly sweet melted sugar syrup. It's unpleasantly sweet and very cloying. The puffed and filled area is large enough that it compresses the other layers so the kouign amann is dense. I've never had a kouign amann quite this sweet before. (3/5) Meyer Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Thyme ($5.50) - This cake is so moist and rich, thick and dense, fatty and rich, that it feels like I"m eating a slab of butter. I'm sure it has just as many calories too! It's quite sweet, although not nearly to the level of the kouign amann. Overall, it's just a really rich and decadent cake. (4/5) Blueberry + Vanilla Cream Brioche Donut w/ Earl Grey ($6) - The top of the pastry is dressed with a cream that has an unmistakably strong bergomot earl grey taste. I wish there was way more cream - there's essentially only a dab on top! The rest of the donut is filled with a custardy light blueberry and vanilla jam. It's not too sweet and has an excellent high quality blueberry fragrance, creating an exceptionally strong blueberry taste. The jam is not too thick and is somewhat syrupy from sugar. The donut itself is really soft and extremely airy. It's the fluffiest donut I've eaten in a long time. (5/5) Raspberry Rose Cruffin ($8.50) - This pastry has some fun dehydrated raspberries sprinkled right on top of a light and fluffy cream that's not too sweet. The cruffin base is buttery in taste and great lamination even when filled with the custard and rose/raspberry cream. This is a heavy cruffin that's very filling. (5/5) Twisted Croissant certainly does some some really delectable treats. It's one of my favorite bakeries in Portland!

Crispy, airy, buttery and oh, so delicate, my raspberry cruffin was the dessert dreams are made of! If you've never had a cruffin... what are you waiting for?! It's croissant dough baked into a muffin shape. And the particular version I ordered today was filled with sweet and creamy vanilla custard and raspberry jelly. My mouth is watering describing this now, a true sign I'll be returning to experience this delicacy time and time again. There are three locations of Twisted Croissant in Portland, and this is the only one I've visited. The interior has a classic Parisian bakery vibe, clad in white subway tile from floor to ceiling. The bakery case in front of the store is beautifully stocked with fresh pastries, perfect for enjoying with a cup of coffee or tea. However, be advised, there are only two tables in the back of their public space, so it's not particularly inviting space to sit and enjoy your breakfast. Given the location, I assume there is outdoor seating in the summer months, but don't quote me on that. Regardless, run here if you haven't been. These baked goods are worth the visit!
