We were walking back from the bridge and we're hungry for lunch so we stopped in this restaurant. I'm really glad that we did. I had to keep spinach. Quiche Delicious with a small salad and my friend had a salad with chicken only thing that really annoyed me is they asked you if you want bread and then charge you three dollars for two slices of bread really really sorry we didn't have room for some of those delicious looking desserts. The inside was very cute. They do art sometimes in there during July and August. The service was excellent. The people were very nice and the food was very good.

The vibes were really nice, it's so lovely that they have so much art right in the cafe. I also like that you're able to order to go, if I had more time it'd be nice to sit down inside and stay because it's so pretty and calm. I got a Vietnamese iced coffee, it was definitely strong, and not sweet. I think I would've preferred a little more sweetness but all in all, the coffee was great

Had never heard of this place before, but my friend/coworker suggested it when we were all looking for a place to grab a beverage before heading back to the office. It turned into us sitting down for a little morning beverage and pastries. It is very bright and feels airy in there with the all white decor, bright paintings and large windows allowing a ton of natural light in. Staff were friendly and helpful while there. I kept it simple with their namesake green tea option while we all split the pastry basket option. Pretty good, standard tea and pastry experience... I would come here again and recommend it to others.

While wandering around the area, we wanted to take a break at a cafe and found Frieda. Upon entering, you're welcome to a variety of art pieces from paper flowers to jams. The works are available for sale and come from local artists, which is pretty amazing. The cafe itself is so artful and tasteful as well. The walls are decorated with paint chips in a gorgeous rainbow ombré. There's a large selection of healthy food options as well, but we just came by for some drinks. I had a White Peach Iced Tea ($4) while they also refilled our glass of waters. The drinks were standard, but the space is lovely. Glad we stumbled into this artsy cafe.

Gluten free here is a joke. It came up on multiple gf searches for breakfast, and the menu showed that half of the menu could be made gf, but the server said the only thing they can do gf is toast - and not French toast. The atmosphere was fine - felt more like an art display than a restaurant - and we didn't see anyone eating so I can't speak to serving sizes. But if you're celiac or just avoiding gluten, avoid this place as well.

Wonderful food in a special place. Artwork surrounds you. Items you can buy. Great quiche and desserts. Beautiful salads. Friendly staff. Heard the story of the fun, yellow sloth above their door. Definitely coming back.

We visited here on a Thursday morning and we're greeted at the front and seated immediately. Our first impression was that the place is well decorated and neat. Staff is friendly and the place sells local stuff at the front. We ordered ordered quiche and continental breakfast along with coffee. I did check on their coffee refill policy and it is bottomless. We were worried about the portions as they claimed French, but boy we were wrong. The quiche was personal size and very filling. The continental breakfast, which initially I thought would not be good was infant a great sampler - it had salmon oats granola toast eggs avocado and much more. This was a great way to taste multiple things. Service was prompt and our coffee was being refilled at such fast pace. Bathrooms were clean and had forest music in the background. I highly recommend this place!

Solid place for coffee plus it's a cozy spot to chill. My friends and I enjoyed all of art work too. Their coffee is strong I'd have to say cause I got a decaf latte and was kinda cracked out from that

Great food, decor, and atmosphere. This is a great brunch spot and a fun time. There are many options on the menu and just a vibe for a weekend or weekday, whichever you prefer.

There aren't a lot of places I would go to twice in Philly, but I would be a regular at Frieda if it my waistline and wallet allowed for it! The food was great and the venue itself was so cool and cozy. I went with a friend the first time, but I can't wait to be back with my fiance!

This place was so incredible, the mushroom poached egg dish was so flavorful and delicious, the French toast was amazing as well with this decadent butterscotch sauce and fresh fruit. Even on a busy Saturday morning no reservation they sat us pretty quickly, the whole place had a quirky, eclectic vibe as well. They also have homemade jam for purchase in a lot of fun flavors which was super cool!

Now I could tell you all about how perfectly tasty everything is. From the classic banana puddings (I prefer the caramel version myself,) to the cookies, to the pineapple upside-down mini cakes. Yes, I could tell you that. But I want to speak to something deeper. I want to speak to belonging and community; and to fairness. As a biracial person with a brown sister, I feel the pull to support black and brown businesses. It's not a secret. And sometimes you do it, and sometimes you privately think "Damn. I wanna be supportive but this place is a mess." Then there's Sweet Life. NOT that. FILLED with good product at a great price, delivered by owners and staff who actually give a damn about being loving and supportive to all different types of people. And did I mention the sweets are POPPIN'? And to that statement of fairness. Today I came in to place an order, and when the price came up, for a moment I thought "Damn. That is a lot higher than I remembered, but I am not about to question them. They set the price and that price is what they deserve." So I paid. But then I noticed there was more in my bag that I'd asked for, and that there had been a miscommunication. When I tell you that this miscommunication was corrected with swiftness *AND* a smile. No shade. No drama. Just an "Ooops, oh well, here's your refund on the balance." I know this seems very basic but we all know it isn't. We have all been in that awkward situation where as a customer we have to point out an error, and the vendor turns it into a Shakespearan tragedy. Not Sweet Life. "Oops. Sorry! Fixed. Love you." So, to recap: Stunningly delicious sweets. Prices fair as hell. Communicative, inclusive staff doing the right thing. You need to take those money dollers and haul your ass over here TODAY. Now...where did I put my insulin pen?

Place was nice and bright. Plenty of seating. So many things looked tasty but I got two pain aux raisins, an eclair, a merveilleux, and 4 mini choux pastries (2 for $1). The total came to $24. Pain aux raisin was good but not the best I've ever had. Would have liked them to be slightly thicker and crispier. Plenty of raisins though. Crème pâtissière was fantastic. Eclair was thin and dainty. I got this for my son as a safe bet. I tried a piece and I was so delighted to find it was filled with a chocolate pudding type of filling. The mini choux pastries were an impulse buy. I got enough for everyone in the car ride home to try. Delicious and delicate one bite treat. The merveilleux was a blind buy. Read a review that raved about it so I gave it a try. I didn't even know what to expect. It's crispy meringue covered in cream and crushed speculoos cookies. It's so heavenly! 2/3 of us liked the merveilleux the best and one of us liked the pain aux raisin the best. Come here if you're looking for something really special
