    Crab cake burger

Friedman's came to the rescue as we were looking to somehow seat a party of 6 in Chelsea Market, which was busier than the streets of time square during New Year's. Whether that's a good sign or not, they did a great job accommodating us, were very friendly and the food was all very good. Our pastrami orderers were very happy and my crab cake burger was delicious. Everyone really enjoyed the fries too. Portion sizes and prices were all very reasonable as well. I don't know if you are in Chelsea Market is you choose the restaurant or the restaurant chooses you, but if you end up at Friedman's you'll be well taken care of. Enjoy!!

Crab Cake Benny- huge portion, so tasty

Chelsea market was bumping on a friday afternoon. Wasnt sure what I wanted for lunch, but the all day breakfast at Friedmans caught my eye. There was a wait for a table with wait staff, but you could easily order to go (and they even have a bunch of seating for outdoor orders). Our 2 meals came out shockingly fast, 10 mins at most. My crab cakes eggs benny was a huge portion and packaged nicely. I loved the crisp of the potatoe pattie instead of a mushy eng muffin. I couldnt finish the whole dish but I loved it. My friend really enjoyed her sandwich, also a large portion. Great value for comfort food. Would 100% go back!

This was a restaurant I did not intend to go to. However, I was craving French toast and saw on their list. That was one of the things they had. We were seated right away and our server was really nice. It was quaint great for a couple. Definitely worth coming to.

Friedman's@Chelsea Market 75 9th. Ave. New York, NY 10011 Fried Chicken & Cheddar Waffle Whether you have the waffles as breakfast or lunch, you won't be disappointed! The hot honey and the maple syrup were the backbone. If you can't make it to this location , there are six others throughout the city all specializing in gluten free plates!

The restaurant is very cute and clean. The food and gluten free choices were amazing. However the waiter seemed to forget a few things we asked for. Food:4.5 (pastrami needed more mustard) Atmosphere: 5 super chill Service: 3 older waiter seemed to cover whole restaurant. All over the place.

Arriving to New York and fresh off of the train and after a walk along the highline, I found myself at Chelsea's market looking for breakfast. I decided to stop here because we would be able to sit and be served by a waiter in the menu is simple enough, but it does need to be scanned with your phones camera. There were options for lunch and breakfast. We chose the French toast and chocolate chip pancakes and ordered a side of hashbrowns and bacon to supplement our meal. Everything was quite good including the service since I never had an empty cup of coffee, thanks to our waitress. This is a quaint restaurant, so there is not enough room for many people to move around, which is why my chair was often bumped as the staff like the waitresses and waiters frequently bumped my chair moving back-and-forth. I would not recommend this place for a large parties however, takeout is an option for those of you who would like to take your meal someplace.

I had the most amazing Lemon Ricotta Pancakes!! The vanilla infused cream sauce melted in my mouth, and the candied lemon peels elevated this dish to beyond my expectations!! My mouth watered when I saw it!! The service was amazing. Must eat here!!!

Went to Friedmans in the famous Chelsea marketplace on our NYC trip. Service was outstanding and the ambiance definitely had that New York vibe. This place super reminds of Saul's up in Berkeley but Friedmans had some menu items that they just don't serve in the Bay. Food was delicious and portions were definitely East Coast size. Next time I'm in NYC I'll be definitely finding my way back to this spot.

Food and service was great. The burger was well cooked and adding to the great taste with sautéed onions.

Food was good, nothing blew my mind, but everything was good no complaints. This is a great stop inside Chelsea market if you're looking for classic American diner food but elevated. The real standout for me was our server, I think I remember her name was Julie. She was so patient and kind from start to finish and really made the experience wonderful. Personally if I was working in that busy of a tourist spot I'd lose my mind but Julie(?) was such a pro. Another person noticed from a far that the table had a slight wobble (which was so slight I barely noticed) and he came over and fixed it before we got our food.

Nice, small restaurant, but the staff was able to find a very comfortable space for us to be with our stroller, which we really appreciated. The staff was friendly, and our server was attentive. Our food was served efficiently without a long wait. I would say this is a safe spot to grab breakfast or lunch--nothing too special, but it's good and hits the spot. Overall, a pleasant experience, and we'd come back if we're in the area again.

I…read morehad been eager to try their pies, as well as their full meals, but only just made it to their dimly lit, hip and happening main dining room. The space was not large, but they really made the most of it, offering a decent number of tables with reasonable space between them. My friend and I were quickly seated and immediately greeted by a charming server that opened our bottle of wine (it's BYO) and offered us still or sparkling water. I had read in other reviews that you had to pay for water, so I was not surprised by the $6 bottle of Saratoga that wound up on our bill. In addition to our engaging server and the happening atmosphere, the food was similarly incredible. We decided to order a load of things to share, so that we could try a greater variety. We started with two appetizers that were seasonal Spring additions to the menu. The Hamachi Crudo included five thickly-sliced, tender pieces of Japanese yellowtail sitting in a broth of rhubarb aguachile and topped with white strawberries and basil seeds. It was an unique blend that we would not have expected to work, but boy was it delicious! The sweet toppings infused a load of flavor into an otherwise mild fish. We also enjoyed the Fava-mole, a creamy puree of fava beans studded with balls of hand-pulled mozzarella and pea tendrils, all drizzled with zesty ramp oil. I had not been sure what to expect from the dish, but it offered fresh, bright garden flavors. We also decided to share a pasta course and an entree. The Fettuccini was tossed with spring truffles and maitakes in a light, yet heavily aromatic, wild mushroom cream sauce. It was one of the best dishes I had had in quite some time. Then, as we were waiting on our seafood entree, we received a second pasta, courtesy of the Chef. I had mentioned that I had heard rave reviews about Flour from a server at Heirloom Kitchen, a top NJ restaurant. Apparently, our waiter had let the Chef know about that glowing praise, and the kitchen further verified that positivity with the generous gesture. In fact, they wound up sending out the Linguine with white clam sauce, razor clams, and wild ramps, the other dish about which I had been most curious anyway. Well, it was another winner! It was garlicky, herbaceous, and rich with flavors of the sea. Speaking of seafood, we next received the Branzino 'Bahn mi', a perfectly cooked piece of Mediterranean sea bass with Vietnamese sausage and pickled vegetables. The branzino's crispy skin and flaky, moist interior were excellent, and we loved all of the other smoky and briny flavors on the plate. After all of that excellent food, we would have loved to try one of their appealing desserts, but we were just too full. Between the ambiance, welcoming vibe, and delicious cuisine, our Flour experience was simply divine! It has now became one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I cannot wait to try their pizza at some point as well.

I was a big fan of both, especially the ricotta, which was so incredibly creamy. For the mains, everyone's fresh-made pasta was excellent. I ordered the Mexican street corn, which was unique, flavorful, and delicious. I also tried some of the spicy rigatoni and loved it. We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, they weren't able to recover it, but the food itself was still outstanding.

I definitely recommend having a reservation as they were pretty busy on a Sunday morning. The Cappuccino was well-made, soothing, and gave me a much-needed caffeine kick. We got one sweet & one savory dish because that's the best way to brunch! The Steak & Eggs was surprisingly good! The hanger steak was juicy, tender, and well-seasoned. I had asked for the eggs to be soft scrambled and I felt like they were a touch overcooked but still enjoyable and paired well with the steak. The brunch potatoes could've been way crispier but I did enjoy the peppers & onions mixed it. The French Toast was fantastic. The coconut butter was a nice addition and it was the right sweetness level overall. Good try for brunch!

There was only one other family dining, and the space stayed empty the entire time. The service was genuinely great. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a really cute, cozy space. I especially loved the Christmas décor and overall vibe--it felt warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the prices. The house salad was $13 and honestly one of the most basic, smallest, and most boring salads I've ever had--very underwhelming for the cost. We also ordered quesadillas, a cheeseburger with fries, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. My son enjoyed the burger and fries, and the quesadillas were flavorful, generously filled with chicken and veggies, and came with sour cream, pico, and guac. The tomato soup was tasty, while the grilled cheese was just okay. One small but appreciated detail: canned soda. Cold, crisp, and not flat which is always a win. Lunch for 3 came in just under $100, which felt high given what we received. One frustration was being seated in a tight corner right next to the kitchen even though the dining room was completely empty. We were so close I could literally see into the kitchen and count items on the shelves. On top of that, the hostess repeatedly walked by calling out "corner," which became distracting and honestly a bit irritating. Overall, I liked the vibe, but the food-to-price ratio missed the mark for me. It wasn't bad--just alright.

My first visit was for my birthday a few years ago where we ordered a steak dish that was so incredibly fatty that it was inedible. We told our server and they offered to bring us out another, which was also still SO fatty. The experience left a bitter taste in our mouths but we were comped the steak and offered a $100 gift card to use on a future visit. We were in no rush to return and it took almost a year for us to visit again. On this visit I don't recall anything being bad but nothing stood out. Our third and fourth visits ended up being yesterday (Valentine's Day) for last minute brunch and dinner reservations. We were appreciative that they were able to squeeze us in last minute. We weren't too keen on a pre fixe menu, but everywhere appears to have a set menu on the holiday. I ordered the shakshuka which lacked depth of flavor and was very disappointing. Probably the worst shakshuka I've ever had unfortunately. The salad and bread that came with it were both good. My husband ordered the steak sandwich (the other 2 entrees he wanted to try were both sold out). The sandwich was very flavorful but needed to be served on a crustier bread. The skillet pancake had good flavor but was so incredibly dense and could've used more bananas. Valentine's dinner was the straw that broke the camel's back. Out of everything that was offered, the only dish worth mentioning was the lobster pasta. It was spicy, pasta cooked al dente, and a fair amount of lobster chunks. We received our salad promptly but our pasta second course came out before the seafood starter course. We brought it to our server's attention and it still took a long time to receive it. Then we had another long wait for our main course. The steak was okay, mashed potatoes were good, but the peppercorn sauce absolutely ruined the meal. There were too many peppercorns in every bite. Also the Nutella flan they offered for dessert was a far cry from a flan. It wasn't good. I would've preferred their regular desserts as an offering. Service was very lackluster. Overall, I'm very disappointed. I really wanted to love antique given that it has been voted best restaurant in Hoboken, but the service and food are both subpar.
