Loved this diner! Couldn't believe how big it was once we were inside. And the booths was large and spacious for our party of 5. Food came fresh and hot. We had steak & eggs, salad, a pastrami sandwich and more and it was all delish. Large portions for the price. Love the location too!

Diner in the city right outside of the 32nd St PATH. The salmon benedict was ok, egg (normally a soft boiled, runny egg) was overcooked, but felt like the membrane was still on the egg... weird tough outside. Salad was ok, and the hash browns needed to be cooked a bit more. Service was prompt even with spilling water over the table while pouring at the table. Inside was clean and efficient process. It's a good place to look out at the rush in Herald's Square while you're having a leisurely breakfast. Located below the Martinique Hotel.

Came here most mornings when I stayed at the Martinique. It is fine. It gets the job done. Coffee is watery and service was slow and not very friendly at the cafe bar (no seating besides the lobby.) Pastries and sandwiches were overpriced and not very big.

We found this diner right before going to the Empire State Building. It is a perfect sit down place for a group of 5. We were given a booth right away and the space is big. It is typical diner food that is so good and just hits the spot. We got a chicken sandwich, a turkey sandwich, and a regular burger. Everything was tasty and had big portions. I would recommend stopping by for a convenient bite.

This place has one job: good deli food. It completely failed The reuben was dry and tasteless. The burger on the Amtrak train was better. I am not exaggerating. What more is there to say... there's zero reason to come here. As background, my dad lived in manhattan. Coming to the Carnegie deli was a huge treat. On a relative scale, the food is tragically terrible. On an absolute scale, two day old sandwiches at Safeway are better.

We visited a couple of this restaurants in NYC and food is amazing. Service is also great. I guess this is the reason why is always busy. But honestly, it has great prices. Food options and quality. We will certainly come back to this place.

While staying at the Martinique Hotel I had the pleasure of dining at Carnegie. It was wonderful on numerous occasions. My favorite meal was the shrimp dinner. Succulent shrimp over buttery mashed potatoes with veggies. My husband ordered the chicken sub Brussels sprouts which was also a delight. We also got an omelette and ham and cheese croissant for breakfast, both were dynamite! I really don't think there's a bad item on the menu.

I honestly…read moredid not expect to be this impressed, but this ended up being one of the best burgers I have ever had -- and quite possibly the best burger of my life. I ordered the burger with cheese, and everything about it was perfect. The burger itself was THICK, incredibly juicy, and cooked beautifully. You could immediately tell that the meat was high quality, and knowing that they use Creekstone beef made it even better. The flavor was rich and beefy without being overwhelming, and every bite was incredibly satisfying. The patty had that perfect combination of a beautifully cooked exterior while still being extremely juicy and tender inside. And the bread deserves its own paragraph! The brioche-style bun was excellent. It was soft, slightly buttery, and substantial enough to hold the thick patty without falling apart or becoming soggy. It complemented the burger perfectly rather than taking away from the meat. The combination of the juicy Creekstone beef, melted cheese, and that excellent brioche-style bread was honestly phenomenal. What really stood out to me was how substantial the burger was. This wasn't one of those thin burgers where you finish it and immediately feel like you could eat another one. It was thick, hearty, juicy, and incredibly flavorful. Every bite felt like you were getting exactly what you want from a great burger. The fries were also excellent. I really appreciated that they weren't overly fried or greasy. They had a great texture and were crispy without feeling heavy or excessively oily. Sometimes fries can completely overwhelm a meal because they're so fried, but these were much more balanced and paired perfectly with the burger. Overall, Friedman absolutely exceeded my expectations. The burger, especially with the cheese, was outstanding, the Creekstone beef was incredibly flavorful, the brioche-style bun was excellent, and the fries were the perfect accompaniment. If you're in NYC and love burgers, this is a must-go-to. I would absolutely order this burger again and would highly recommend Friedman to anyone looking for a thick, juicy, high-quality burger. Easily one of the best burgers I've ever

Aside from that, we had a fantastic experience here at Friedmans Herald Square near Penn Station. They were playing Hilary Duff music, which was such a fun touch since they often match the vibe of whatever is happening at MSG! They even had special Hilary Duff mocktails. The atmosphere is super sweet and cozy. The restaurant was empty when we first walked in, but the second we sat down, it completely packed up! The waiter was very friendly, and even though they weren't able to split the check at the table, they did provide an itemized receipt to make figuring it out easy. The food was great overall--the Mac & Cheese bites and the corn were especially good! We also tried the cheesecake and molten cake. Plus, the neighbors sitting next to us were so sweet. A wonderful spot with a fun vibe!

Would I normally pay nearly $30 for a burger? No. But I came here to hear the talented singers perform Broadway songs so I just chose an entree for the sake of it. Fast forward to 2026 (where I'm finally not broke as hell), the day has finally come, and I am ecstatic about stepping foot into this diner that surprisingly is still standing in 2026. The inside certainly feels like a diner, but not quite the old-school dinginess that I'm used to--it's clean. Given that it was Sunday at noon, it was very crowded in there and mainly flooded with tourist groups, but a table opened up for us pretty quickly. For a NYC diner, the menu is certainly small - this is probably done to keep tables moving faster. I got the Pastrami Hash & Eggs and it was just overdone and super oily and dry--almost as if they just refried everything except the sunnyside egg. Not gonna lie, I was very disappointed, given that I had waited for so long to come here, only to get food that was an attempt to give the staleness another chance by refrying and reheating. I actually beat myself up a little the rest of the day for finishing the whole thing, knowing that the oversaltiness was flirting with opening up some high blood pressure. It was also not moderately priced by any means (was close to $30), but I know I'm helping pay for that Midtown and proximity to Central Park pricing. Not sure if I'll return, which saddens me, but also knowing that they're part of a conglomerate at Fireman Group (and still run independently in a sense) makes total sense

With the hopes of avoiding any potential wait time, I decided to stop by on a bright, early Sunday morning at 8:30 AM. There was no line and I was seated immediately, but it was already packed (which indicates the food is top quality). Egg Cream: This chilled beverage has a beautiful appearance, especially the thick foam at the top. The ratio of seltzer, milk, and chocolate syrup were stirred perfectly. It was highly satisfying and a perfect alternative for a traditional breakfast drink. If you are not desiring the chocolate flavor, this specialty drink is also served in vanilla. BBC Omelette: This breakfast plate may have the same initials as the 24-hour news channel, but there is no relation whatsoever. This omelette was stuffed with broccoli, bacon, and cheddar cheese. These are not typically the toppings I order with an omelette, but I was feeling adventurous. It was a wise choice to explore this specialty plate because it surpasses my taste buds by a long shot. I never would have guessed broccoli and melted cheese taste well combined with an egg. A side of hash browns and toast is included. They were the backbone to the breakfast plate. In addition to a great meal, the service was impeccable. After I was seated, multiple servers checked up on me to make sure I wanted a drink. They always passed by and refilled my water glass. Even though the diner was crowded, the service was lightning fast and my drink and eggs arrived in a timely manner.
