Besides the fact that I can't give a one star, I will say the ONLY reason I am allowing one star is the manager that made things right after this absolutely terrible experience.. we started out with standing at the hostess area for 15 min, I knew this wasn't good. There was a bunch of yelling and fighting in the kitchen which wasn't quite clear what was going on but no one acknowledged us.. party of 5 and they tried to seat us at a 4 top so we asked for a booth.. moved to the booth then waited another 10 min for the waitress.. she took our drink order finally and we put in our food order as well.. then the wait began 15 minutes later our food shows up but no drinks.. the waitress says she wanted to get the food out but 5 minutes later our drinks show up and two drinks were forgotten.. she finally brings our drinks our food is cold and I could just tell this wasn't going to end well.. she doesn't come back, not even a check in. We are clearly finished with our food and she walks toward us only to turn and go to the bathroom. We waited another 10 minutes (no telling what was going on) she hadn't come out and I was done. Clearly everyone was more focused on closing that helping us.. the only saving grace was the manager apologizing and clearly frustrated comped our meal. I was just going to pay for meals and no ice cream but she was not happy with any of the staff and she clearly wanted nothing more to do with this location (she was a manager at Gettysburg, helping out!! They clearly lack leadership, lack organization at this friendlys.. she comped our meal but we still didn't get ice cream and left pretty sad with the whole experience.. and the waitress never came out of the bathroom! Won't be back.. we will try Gettysburg!

The wife and I had a good experience. Our server was nice and the food was good. There wasn't much separation between seats and things looked as if it became a little overwhelming as more people filtered in. The bacon on the cheeseburger was clearly not cooked, so had to doc a star. Other than that it was good.

This is your standard Friendly's experience. I had dinner with my husband here yesterday. I got the bacon cheeseburger with french fries, and a sprite. My husband ordered the brisket melt with waffle fries, and a root beer. The food and customer service were decent and I would return!

The place was honestly dirty. We sat close to the kitchen and the floor was so sticky and was very dirty. Food all over the floor, dishes and trashes stacked up for all to see. The cheese bites were very hard. The server spilt ranch all over my plate. She tried to carry too much, instead of grabbing a few things and going to get the condiments. I had chicken tenders and fries. The tenders were so incredibly hard I could barely chew them, and the bbq sauce on them was disgusting. My sister said the coleslaw was so unbearable that she had to add salt and pepper, and that was not even enough. Her onion rings were so burnt and dry. When we got desert my moms m&m shake was spilt all down the side of her cup because the server carried all three of our ice creams and had my moms tipped the whole time. Our bill ended up being $93 and the food was not worth that amount. Portions were too small but overly priced. Friendlys has definitely gone downhill since I was a kid. And do not even get me started on the bathrooms. The smell was absolute atrocious , and the whole bathroom was dirty. This will be the last time we ever go!

3.5 star. Definitely looks like a local spot for the retired- nothing wrong with that. We had the original burger- burger patty inside a grilled cheese- surprisingly wasn't bad(essentially a patty melt). The creaminess of the cheese and mayo made up for the slight dryness of the patty. I had the ultimate grilled cheese (3 different types of cheeses vs regular American) which I enjoyed it was crispy and went well with my semi cold tomato basil soup. Lastly we had the kit Kat friend-z. It was creamy and was the perfect ending to our salty meal. The service was decent and their electronic check pay system made it efficient to check out.

Joy's Grill & Burger House became a Friday Night Date Night destination during my birthmonth after…read moreI spotted them on social media. I've driven by Joy's a million times and somehow never noticed it before. It's tucked into a busy strip mall and easy to miss if you're not specifically looking for it. Spoiler alert: you should be looking for it. My quest for the evening included both a burger and a chili dog, because they both looked amazing and I wanted the full Joy's experience. My adventure buddy and I arrived around 5pm and I was honestly surprised to see only one other person inside when we walked in. We grabbed a booth by the front door and looked over the menu again to finalize our plan. Since it was our first visit, we decided to order a few things and split them so we could try more. We ordered the loaded chili dog topped with chili, cheese, onions, and mustard ($5.25) and one of the Big Block Burgers -- specifically the Joy's Burger -- which came with grilled onions and mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, LA sauce, Swiss cheese, and fresh cut fries ($12.99). Naturally we added bacon for an extra $0.99 because that felt like the right decision. We also each grabbed a Diet Pepsi (to maintain some illusion of balance) for $2.50 each. Our total came to $25.69 before tip, which felt like a pretty solid deal for a two-person Friday night dinner adventure. The setup at Joy's has a classic old-school diner feel. The grill sits right behind the seating counter so you can watch your food being made, and they mix milkshakes right out front as well. The place is simple and no-frills -- and in my experience, those "keep it simple and do it well" places are often the real heavy hitters. The chili dog came out first, and the first thing I noticed was that this thing was HEAVY. This wasn't your typical skinny hot dog -- it was a full ¼-pound dog absolutely loaded with chili. The flavor reminded me of a Cincinnati-style chili dog and it was really good. The chili was flavorful instead of just decorative, the mustard and onions were balanced perfectly, and the bun did its job without getting in the way. As someone who takes chili dogs very seriously, I have to give Joy's credit for delivering a straightforward, perfectly executed chili dog. Next came the burger and fresh cut fries, and when I say this burger was big, I mean BIG. Two patties tall with all the toppings stacked high. We sliced it in half and immediately dug in. The bacon was perfectly crisp, the mushrooms and Swiss were generous, and the whole thing just tasted like a real, proper burger. Not a chain burger that started life frozen and tastes like it could have been reheated in my microwave at home. This was the kind of burger you picture when you say you're craving a burger. The fries were exactly what you want from fresh-cut fries -- the smaller ones nice and crispy, and the bigger ones crispy on the outside with that soft, fluffy inside. Splitting the chili dog and burger turned out to be the right call. It would have been easy to eat everything solo, but my stomach probably would not have forgiven me later. Our server was super friendly and attentive throughout the visit. While we were there, a few more people came in to eat, but overall it felt relaxed and easy for a Friday evening. Parking is free since Joy's sits in a strip mall, but it can be a little tight because there are several other popular businesses nearby. We were able to find a spot without trouble, but I could see it getting tricky during busier times. If you're looking for solid burgers, legit chili dogs, and an old-school diner vibe, Joy's Grill & Burger House is absolutely worth seeking out -- especially if you're like me and always on the lookout for your next great burger or chili dog adventure.

The place is clean and simple, and when the food is this good, fancy décor really isn't needed. We were greeted warmly by Autume as soon as we walked in. It's self-seating, with booth and counter seating available, and free parking is available, which is always a plus. Melissa took great care of us, upbeat, cheerful, and even singing Christmas carols while making sure every customer was happy. We ordered the burger and fried chicken based on Melissa's recommendation, and oh boy, it was soooooo good. Brenda, the cook, definitely knows what she is doing. The owner buys whole chickens, cuts and marinates them in a house seasoning, and it truly shows. The chicken was perfectly cooked, not greasy, not salty, just right. One of the best burgers and fried chicken meals we've ever had. We wrapped things up with cappuccino chip ice cream. They serve Hershey's ice cream, which is always a win. We always try to support family-owned restaurants when we travel, and this place is exactly why. Nothing mass produced here, just food made with care. If you're in the area, stop by and say hi to Autume, Melissa, and Brenda. You won't be disappointed. Even if you're not nearby, it's worth the drive. So glad I don't live close, otherwise I'd probably be 1,000 pounds. Oh, and did I mention the fresh, hand cut fries?

The only real question: Would Big Ray's chili dog treat me kindly? (Important considerations were made.) We arrived around 5:30pm on a chilly January Friday and quickly realized we were not alone in this brilliant decision. The dining room was already about ¾ full, which I take as an excellent sign when evaluating burger-and-dog establishments. After a quick menu scan, I locked in my order: a ¼-lb beef hot dog with chili, mustard, and onions ($4.99) plus a Diet Pepsi (because balance). Adventure Buddy went all in with the Honey Butter Chicken Club ($8.59) and an order of fried pickles ($4.99), washed down with an orange Fanta. Total damage? Under $27. Date night win already. The food came out fast and piping hot, which is exactly what you want when you're this hungry. My chili dog immediately delivered--solid flavor, generous chili, and most importantly, the hot dog was grilled, giving it that slight snap that separates the pros from the amateurs. No soggy sadness here. Adventure Buddy's chicken sandwich was also a standout. This was a legit chunk of chicken breast, not a sad, thin patty pretending to be something it's not. Crispy, juicy, and the honey butter added just the right touch of sweetness without crossing into dessert territory. The fried pickles were thick-cut, crunchy, and exactly what fried pickles should be--dangerously snackable. All around, Big Ray's absolutely delivered. Solid food, quick service, great value, and the kind of place you immediately add to your "easy yes" rotation for burgers, dogs, and sandwiches. I'll definitely be back--especially once the weather warms up and that front patio becomes fair game.

We decided to take a drive in search of something tasty, and our adventure led us to Brewhouse Grill in Camp Hill, PA. From the outside, it looked like a small neighborhood bar. But once we stepped inside, the vibe completely changed. Bright lights, a welcoming atmosphere, and a lively bar area. The hostess greeted us right away, which was a relief since my hunger was hitting hard. We checked out the specials and ordered two classics: a flatbread pizza and a Philadelphia cheesesteak. As an Eagles fan, I couldn't resist testing how a Harrisburg area cheesesteak stacked up against Philly's best. And if you know me, you know I take pizza seriously think ninja turtle levels of dedication.‍ The pizza came out crisp and well-done, but the cheese was a bit skimpy, leaving me wanting more. The cheesesteak, unfortunately, didn't quite hit the mark either. Luckily, a cold beer and the friendly staff helped balance out the disappointment. What impressed me most was the atmosphere. Brewhouse Grill works for just about anyone: families looking for a quiet meal, sports fans wanting to catch a game at the bar, or summer crowds enjoying the covered deck with a DJ. That summertime setup sounds like a whole different experience, and I'm eager to come back when the weather warms up. Final Verdict: The food didn't wow me, but the service and atmosphere make Brewhouse Grill worth checking out especially in the summer when the deck and DJ bring the place to life.

This place started showing up in my social media feeds constantly. All day. Every day. Smoked meat?…read moreI'm listening. Smoked meat and homemade peanut butter pie? In the same building?! Immediate must-try status. I hatched a plan to visit on a chilly January Friday night, knowing they'd recently been selling out of items before their posted 7pm closing time. The target: 5:30pm. Risky enough to feel exciting, early enough to still secure smoked meat. A calculated move. Get Smok'd is located in a strip mall, and when I arrived, most of the front parking spots were full. Brief "oh no" moment...then I snagged a spot from someone pulling out and hustled inside. The dining room was much more spacious than it looked from outside, though many tables were already filled. I stepped up to the counter fully prepared--having studied both the menu and their social media all week in belly-growling anticipation. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with street corn and a fountain soda. Adventure Buddy went with the Lamb Gyro special, coleslaw, and a soda. Total for dinner came in around $40, which felt very reasonable for the amount of food. We timed it perfectly. About 10 minutes after we arrived, a large party of ~20 people walked in and filled a reserved table. More folks followed right behind them and suddenly the place was packed, buzzing, and running low on seats. Lamb Gyro: Fantastic. The smoke really came through on the lamb, and the tzatziki was super cucumber-forward, which Adventure Buddy loved. It was also a generous portion for the price--always appreciated. Street Corn: First off, the presentation was on point. The husk flared out like a little sunburst--very eye-catching. The cook on the corn was perfect, seasoning was just right, and the ear itself was a great size. Goldilocks corn. Coleslaw: This one missed the mark for us. The cabbage itself was fine, but the dressing was very bland and there was a lot of it--bordering on cold coleslaw soup territory. Not our thing, though it might work for some. Pulled Pork Sandwich: The pulled pork? Fabulous. Moist, juicy, perfectly smoky. I paired it with the Lawd That's Good traditional sweet sauce and ate every last bite of the meat. The roll, however, didn't live up to the pork--it felt like an odd mismatch. I skipped the bread and focused on the star of the show. Peanut Butter Pie: I...was not prepared. I did not expect a smoked meat joint to casually deliver one of the best peanut butter desserts I've had in a long time. This isn't a slice--this is a personal peanut butter pie. I'd guess 5-6 inches wide, about 1.5 inches thick, served in its own tin and piled high with whipped cream. This wasn't dessert--this was an entire second meal. At $10, it was worth every single penny, and I seriously debated ordering another. I will absolutely be back just for this pie. Overall, Get Smok'd BBQ earns a solid 5 stars from both me and Adventure Buddy. Friendly staff who checked in, meat smoked to perfection, and a peanut butter pie that completely stole the show. Good lawd! PRO TIP: If you're planning to visit later in the day, check Get Smok'd on social media first. They sell out. Early. Often. Don't waste a trip just to find locked doors and shattered BBQ dreams. This place is hot right now--and very much worth the visit if there's still smoked meat left to be had!

I didn't mind the price of the burger but the sides were too expensive for me to add. I just wanted something more with that burger. If that burger had Chips would be 5 stars. Highly recommend this place. I look forward to eating there again.
