Besides the fact that I can't give a one star, I will say the ONLY reason I am allowing one star is the manager that made things right after this absolutely terrible experience.. we started out with standing at the hostess area for 15 min, I knew this wasn't good. There was a bunch of yelling and fighting in the kitchen which wasn't quite clear what was going on but no one acknowledged us.. party of 5 and they tried to seat us at a 4 top so we asked for a booth.. moved to the booth then waited another 10 min for the waitress.. she took our drink order finally and we put in our food order as well.. then the wait began 15 minutes later our food shows up but no drinks.. the waitress says she wanted to get the food out but 5 minutes later our drinks show up and two drinks were forgotten.. she finally brings our drinks our food is cold and I could just tell this wasn't going to end well.. she doesn't come back, not even a check in. We are clearly finished with our food and she walks toward us only to turn and go to the bathroom. We waited another 10 minutes (no telling what was going on) she hadn't come out and I was done. Clearly everyone was more focused on closing that helping us.. the only saving grace was the manager apologizing and clearly frustrated comped our meal. I was just going to pay for meals and no ice cream but she was not happy with any of the staff and she clearly wanted nothing more to do with this location (she was a manager at Gettysburg, helping out!! They clearly lack leadership, lack organization at this friendlys.. she comped our meal but we still didn't get ice cream and left pretty sad with the whole experience.. and the waitress never came out of the bathroom! Won't be back.. we will try Gettysburg!

The wife and I had a good experience. Our server was nice and the food was good. There wasn't much separation between seats and things looked as if it became a little overwhelming as more people filtered in. The bacon on the cheeseburger was clearly not cooked, so had to doc a star. Other than that it was good.

This is your standard Friendly's experience. I had dinner with my husband here yesterday. I got the bacon cheeseburger with french fries, and a sprite. My husband ordered the brisket melt with waffle fries, and a root beer. The food and customer service were decent and I would return!

The place was honestly dirty. We sat close to the kitchen and the floor was so sticky and was very dirty. Food all over the floor, dishes and trashes stacked up for all to see. The cheese bites were very hard. The server spilt ranch all over my plate. She tried to carry too much, instead of grabbing a few things and going to get the condiments. I had chicken tenders and fries. The tenders were so incredibly hard I could barely chew them, and the bbq sauce on them was disgusting. My sister said the coleslaw was so unbearable that she had to add salt and pepper, and that was not even enough. Her onion rings were so burnt and dry. When we got desert my moms m&m shake was spilt all down the side of her cup because the server carried all three of our ice creams and had my moms tipped the whole time. Our bill ended up being $93 and the food was not worth that amount. Portions were too small but overly priced. Friendlys has definitely gone downhill since I was a kid. And do not even get me started on the bathrooms. The smell was absolute atrocious , and the whole bathroom was dirty. This will be the last time we ever go!

3.5 star. Definitely looks like a local spot for the retired- nothing wrong with that. We had the original burger- burger patty inside a grilled cheese- surprisingly wasn't bad(essentially a patty melt). The creaminess of the cheese and mayo made up for the slight dryness of the patty. I had the ultimate grilled cheese (3 different types of cheeses vs regular American) which I enjoyed it was crispy and went well with my semi cold tomato basil soup. Lastly we had the kit Kat friend-z. It was creamy and was the perfect ending to our salty meal. The service was decent and their electronic check pay system made it efficient to check out.

Before "the internet" was even a thing for regular folks. Basically, I hadn't been back since dinosaurs roamed the earth (aka 30-ish years ago). And honestly? Not much has changed--and that's exactly what makes it perfect. Picture this: 50's-style décor, a pavilion full of those old-school round concrete tables, and a line of ice cream lovers spilling out the door and halfway into the parking lot. I showed up on the Friday of Labor Day weekend and sure enough--limited parking, crowds everywhere, and people walking around holding ice cream creations so glorious they could've been centerpieces at a wedding. After standing in line (and mentally preparing for glory), I found my holy grail: The Stinson Special. Peanut butter ice cream loaded with Reese's Puffs, Reese's Pieces, peanut butter cups, and a peanut butter swirl. Basically, peanut butter on peanut butter on PEANUT BUTTER. No way was I risking this masterpiece in a cone--two scoops in a bowl, please and thank you. A few minutes later, I heard the call: "STINSON SPECIAL--TWO SCOOPS!" That was my moment. I grabbed my prize, slid into a concrete table under the pavilion, and...oh. my. goodness. It was orgasmic. Every single bite was a peanut butter explosion with different textures and crunches--smooth, swirly, chocolatey, crunchy perfection. Halfway through I had to take an intermission to gather strength before diving back in. Worth every bite. Next time, I'm hunting down the pulled pork sandwich I haven't had since the 90s--if it's even half as good as I remember, I'll be in foodie heaven all over again. Pro tips: - Get there early. - Expect a line (and enjoy the people-watching). - Have a game plan for where you're eating, because the inside is way too crowded for a proper foodgasm. Kristy's Whistle Stop is still doing its thing after all these years...and its thing is absolutely worth the trip.

The kind that requires intention. Enter Faye's Ice Cream Parlor, which I learned (the hard way) is one of the very few local ice cream shops that's open year-round AND late enough to actually grab dessert after dinner in the winter. Bless them. A little pre-visit research led me to Faye's social media to confirm they were open--and that's when I saw it: Peanut Butter Blast. Creamy peanut butter ice cream loaded with Reese's Pieces and Peanut Butter Cups. As a lifelong peanut butter enthusiast, my fate was sealed. Thanks to a recent Central PA snowstorm, street parking was...adventurous. After one strategic lap around the block, I found a spot just a few spaces from the front door and felt like I had won the lottery. I carefully perched my car atop a snowplow-created mountain and hustled inside in search of warmth...and ice cream. Inside, there was only one other group of customers, which made perfect sense given it was late January, about 15 degrees outside, and there were still inches of snow piled everywhere. I was oddly comforted knowing I wasn't the only person craving ice cream in the dead of winter. I ordered the smallest dish they offer (a kiddie size for around $4), slid into a retro booth in the back, and dug in. The ice cream was fabulous--rich, creamy, and absolutely loaded with peanut butter goodness. Zero regrets. But honestly? The interior might have been my favorite part. The full-on 1950s vibe--from Elvis to Marilyn Monroe, the decor, and the music--felt like stepping into a time capsule. I have nothing but respect for the staff who listen to the classics all day, every day...because I personally could not do that without losing my mind. Still, it absolutely fits the charm. Bottom line: Faye's is a super solid ice cream stop any time of year. Between the great ice cream, cozy retro vibes, convenient location, and rare winter / later-night hours, this place is a win! I'll definitely be back--especially once the weather breaks and I no longer have to scale snowbanks for dessert.

But sometimes the universe drops a delightful little surprise in your lap, and it's your duty as a dessert-loving citizen to spread the word. So here I am. One night, while scrolling through the internet, I stumbled across a post claiming that Dairy Queen makes Cupcakes. Like, individual ice cream cakes. Excuse me? What? How was this not national news?! I did some digging, and sure enough--DQ's website confirmed it. "The personal version of our famous cake with fudge and crunch center, surrounded by vanilla and chocolate soft serve." I was instantly obsessed. Because here's the thing: I love DQ ice cream cake. But as a single person, a full-size cake is basically a lifestyle choice. A DQ Cupcake sounded like the perfect solution--just enough ice cream cake to make you happy, not enough to make you question your life choices. So I went on a mission. And let me tell you, I've been to plenty of DQs in my life--never once have I seen these mythical cupcakes in a freezer case. I finally called the Camp Hill location, expecting confusion and disappointment. But nope. The guy on the phone didn't even hesitate. "Cupcakes? Yep, we've got them. How many do you want?" I almost screamed. They exist. I was out the door in seconds, probably breaking minor traffic laws to get there before they disappeared. I walked in, trying to play it cool, and said, "Hi... cupcakes?" The employee grinned, like he'd been waiting his whole shift for this moment. "Of course. How many would you like?" A minute later, he reappeared with two glorious little ice cream cupcakes--one pink, one yellow. $7.18 later, I was practically skipping to my car. And friends, let me tell you... they were perfect. Fudge and crunch in the middle, chocolate and vanilla soft serve on the outside, cheerful icing and sprinkles on top--it was pure joy in a cup. We ate both in one sitting and felt no shame. Listen, folks: DQ Cupcakes are real. They exist in the actual world. You can go buy one today. And you should. Go get yourself a DQ Cupcake and thank me later. Camp Hill Dairy Queen, you are the hero we didn't know we needed. I'll be back for more cupcakes--probably this weekend.
