This place would get minus 5 stars if it was possible. We use to go to Friendly's all the time, but they all closed in our area. Found this one while on vacation in PA. Went in 30 minutes before closing to get ice cream. Hostess sat us at a table and we waited 15 min before the waiter came over to inform us that we were sitting in the wrong section and he wasn't taking any more orders. We got up and left. It took every ounce of self control I have to keep my cool and not tell that rude, unprofessional, lazy jack@$$ where to stick his ice cream cones. Generally like going to Friendly's but just went and they were not busy at all and told 15 min or longer. His answer was" Tis the season" for what??? Hire enough help!!!! This is why the chain is doing poorly, bad management. This should be busy season but because of covid not as many people out. They should be able to handle the lesser amounts of people. Waited for over 20 minutes after being seated and not one of the 3 waitresses even acknowledged that we were there. It wasn't even busy (maybe 4 tables occupied). Terrible customer service. Online ordering was down so my coworker called in to place a to-go order. First he was told that they couldn't help him, then they said they would "make an exception" to take his order. He was allowed to order one item. Then he asked to order a second item and the employee told him "no, I'm only taking one order." He was not able to order all the food he wanted because of the customer service. Update: when he went to pick up his order, the manager questioned the employee about a coupon and the employee stated (in front of my coworker, the customer) that the coupon had been allowed because "he called in complaining." This has been my go-to Friendly's for years. While it can get crowded at times, it never fails to produce good food and great ice cream. The menu is quite large and there is always a deal to be had. I've never had an issue with service in the decade I've been going. Poor service, dirty dining hall and rest rooms.. the waitress never checked on us or asked us if we needed anything during the visit. The tables and chairs were sticky and trays of dirty dishes were piled on the back tables. The floors were dirty and had trash scattered under the tables. I've been to this Friendly's once a year for the past 5 years. I haven't had any complaints with the food. I've ordered sandwiches,wraps, and salads, all of which were delicious. This visit I had an amazing turkey burger with waffle fries and a sundae for dessert. While the food is always delicious, the environment and service are only mediocre. The overall cleanliness needs some improvement and service is hit or miss. Overall, not bad. read more

Eleven of us stopped by Saturday night after seeing a show. They were busy and we were patiently waiting. An employee asked if we needed something to go, and my son said we were waiting for tables. The employee said, "Good luck with that." Not what we were expecting to hear... However, our waiter Doug was awesome! Cheerful, attentive, and a real nice guy! Unfriendly. We tried to park our car in a handicapped spot, but they were all taken. I parked in the curbside pickup area and dialed the number with no answer. I finally called the main number of the restaurant and someone answered. I told them that my mother is 93 and has mobility issues and that I have very severe scoliosis and medical issues which makes it difficult to place an order inside. The server who answered the phone gave a heavy huff and asked us for our ice cream orders. I did that and asked if he wanted my debit card number. He said that I would have to come in to pay for it inside. I told him again that I would have to unload my mobility equipment just to do that. Another heavy sigh from him stating that there is a ramp that I could try to use. He then began to tell me that I needed to call for curbside ahead of time. I told him that I didn't mind waiting in the curbside pickup area. He brought the order out, with a disgusted attitude and then began to say that I needed to place the order using app. The sign said curbside pickup with the order telephone number and I told him I did that. He then began to lecture me about how he was doing me a great favor, but just this one time. What kind of business is this? Parking in a handicapped area was impossible. I wanted curbside pickup and then getting a lecture from a young man with red hair and glasses like I was getting scolded. Very disrespectful and uncalled for. Sundaes are not fun days at an unfriendly Friendly's! Maybe someday he'll learn a lesson about what it's like to have mobility issues. I came to this establishment today 7/1 with my daughter (who is celebrating her 11th bday) and granddaughter. We arrive at 11:10 and the worker said that there's gonna be another 10 to 15 minutes before they were going to open. The store hours state that they open at 11. Another family came up to the door maybe five minutes later and another employee opened the door for them. When we came to the door right after the same family that came in we were informed that we had to wait a few minutes because there was only one server and she just sat down a family. However we were already there and waiting in the car and we were told that we had to wait 10 to 15 minutes but they let two families in.... I want to point out that my family and I are black and the other two families that they let in were white. I'm disappointed as I wanted my daughter and granddaughter to experience this place. The facility should be ashamed of such blatant and disparaging treatment. My daughter and granddaughter were very disappointed as they wanted to go. My 11 year old stated that we were discriminated against. It was so blatant and I'm disgusted by such treatment. read more

We always seem to end up at Friendly's when the group can't agree on anywhere else to go, the food is yummy, comes out quickly, and of course the ice cream at the end sweetens the deal. We went there for brunch and the food was decent. The home fries were amazingly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My bacon even though I asked for it to be well done was not crispy. Stopped at this Friendly's on our way home, and it was a disgrace to the Friendly's name. The service was terrible and the restaurant and bathrooms were not clean. It took 20 minutes to get a crispy chicken wrap and chicken quesadilla appetizer (ordered as a meal). The staff were not friendly and they need some serious customer service training with a side of professionalism. I don't think complaining in front of guests about the tip a previous guest left or a cook and hostess talking about going to a strip club together (with the male cook saying he has no interest in seeing another man's ****) can be constituted as good service, but that's just me. read more

This Friendly's restaurant is honestly not so friendly. Whenever I go there I can always count on my cups to be somewhat dirty. Whenever I go with my friend's to get chicken fingers I find hairs on my plate or in the food itself. I also had a racial incident with some other customers that were sitting across from where my friends and I were sitting. They were staring at us the entire time and made us uncomfortable (we're all African American) and so we had left to go to the parking lot to speak with the managers over the phone. After complaining to them we watched all the managers laugh at us. Also we can go in there sometimes but before being greeted by employees, we're just blankly stared at. This restaurant is slimy and trifling. They don't know how to treat customers and their food is gross. Watch out for your silverware are cups too! I recommend you to stay away from here. read more

Actually, make that 4 1/2 Stars. My 23 year old Granddaughter chose this place for her birthday meal. It was my first visit here and I wasn't expecting anything more than a nice little diner/ice cream parlor. I was so happy to find that the food here was actually above average in taste and quality. I ordered the Munchie Mania which allows for 3 choices off the appetizer menu. I picked hamburger sliders, chicken quesadillas, and onion rings. Everything was very fresh and piping hot. the quality of the ingredients helped make the flavor exceptionally good. The quantity of all 3 choices was more than enough for a meal but I had also picked an entree, not knowing this beforehand. I ended up taking half my appetizer home so that I could enjoy the entree, which was a simple fish and chips. I am still amazed at the fried fish fillets. I've never had better even in a Seafood Restaurant. The coating on the fillets was light and perfectly crisp, and best of all it did not detract at all from the thick fillets which were very moist and flaky inside. The rest of my family chose either a dinner salad, also obviously very fresh, or one of their burger choices. All of them made of point of telling me how juicy and delicious their burgers were, and that the accompanying fries were crisp and hot on the outside and tender on the inside, which I already knew from my own meal. Next came dessert, something that I usually don't order because I don't like to eat dessert so soon after a meal. This being a place that specializes in their ice cream desserts, I had to give one a try. I chose a Sundae that included hot fudge and brownie pieces. Everything about the dessert was wonderful. The portions were perfect and they even included really good whipped cream with the cherry on top, which is often left off in many places nowadays. So originally we went to red lobster, there was an hour wait so we decided to go to friendly's. We were seated promptly however our server took forever to come to us. When we ordered our appitizers she didn't want to wait around to hear what we wanted she cut my step daughter off from her order. We ended up getting our food, she gave my daughter her coleslaw that she didn't want and than gave my 1 year old a very hot plate with her food. Now I trained my daughter to know that hot is you don't touch and so fourth. She was very slow and rushed us throughout the whole night. Then at the end somebody came up and gave us our bill saying our server was on break. I get she is a minor and the minor laws and all but she couldn't just give us the bill before she left for break? Our food came out hot and fresh with a short wait time and was delicious. It goes without saying the dessert was perfect also. My husband and I have stopped in here a lot over the course of the last year. The ice cream is the best in town and the food is also very good at a fair price in my opinion. Very recently we have gotten very good luck with our servers. We had Jordyn 2 weeks ago who was very fast and attentive. Always being extra nice and asking questions, actually interacting with us. Some of the other servers do not do this although the majority are decent. We also then this week had the pleasure of having Grant as a server too. He was very talkative and bubbly, he had a few other tables at the time but tried to take his time with us and not rush. Good food. Waitress never came around to see how things were...no refills on drinks offered...she forgot several items that were ordered and charged for. Tried to pay at register..they were having computer issues..the mgr who took over for the 2 employees was completely rude..no eye contact..no thank you etc. So between that and the no show waitress..we wont be back!! read more
