My family and I just went for lunch and we were pleasantly surprisd to find very nice waitress Grace who made our experience great. One of the few Friendly's remaining. I went to Stockholders and literally saw a Friendly's down the street and had to check it out. They have an ice cream window to order outside. We went inside and got seated immediately. We ordered the Banana Split with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream for $8.69 which I thought was an amazing deal for 2 people. It was filling and hit the spot. It looked sweet with everything in it, but it wasn't bad at all. Service was kind, efficient and nice. Received incomplete order. I ordered a sandwich with a side of soup but received half a sandwich and half a cup of soup. When I contacted the manager I was told to call DoorDash to get a replacement. DoorDash informed me because I did not order directly from them the restaurant manager would have to open a ticket with them to get a replacement. I called back to explain this to the manager and was told she would call DoorDash to get this resolved. I never received a replacement meal or a partial refund. I visited Friendly's (not this same location) almost 12 years ago and again today. I was so let down. The restaurant has a cool retro look, very pleasant. The food though had nothing special about it. My kid ordered a Mac n Cheese that seemed to be one of boxed ones. It was kind of burned and stock to each other. I felt bad just looking at it. Our fries didn't seem fresh and the poor waitress seemed guilty for serving such food. This place has potential to be the bomb! It's on a great location. One of the last Friendlys in my area and I live right by it. I've been addicted to the honey mustard since I was a kid. I grew up here. From what i know about the staff the servers are very wholesome. It's not easy to make your own icecream and serve and they are very consistent. The general manager has clearly invested herself into the company and has been a consistent and reliable professional. I hope Friendlys stays around as long as possible because I love the food. Big mistake! We were so hungry and never really disliked this friendly's before, except yesterday. We were seated and the place was almost empty so we sat in the back of the restaurant. Came here for an early breakfast with the parents for Mother's Day. Got seated immediately but given the wrong kind of menu. I ended up getting up and getting the right menus since the hostess disappeared. Our server was super nice. She got all our orders right and the food came out well. I got the Belgian waffle that comes with a side of bacon (3 strips). It was good but not really filling on it's own. So, I got an oatmeal that came with walnuts and brown sugar. That was good as well. For a drink I got an iced coffee, which was a bit watery tbh, but still okay. My mom was trying to use a special Mother's Day Coupon that would get her a free dessert, but it wasn't compatible with the order she and my father got. I went to a friendlys on Friday and I NEVER go out to eat so this was a treat for my son and I. My bill was $32 and I tipped $3 and I remember because I didn't even want to give the server that. She was out of it, forgetful and extremely snarky. She had no introduction, completely lacked customer service skills and didn't clear the table once. I used to be a server so I know how hard it is! There we're also no managers in sight and only 2 servers on the floor with at least 8-10 tables. I signed on to my bank today and I have 2 separate charges one for $32 and one for $8. The waitress changed my $3 to an $8! I can't get ahold of anyone at the south Weymouth friendlys and I'm beyond pissed off! We are supposed to trust the process of offering gratuity but this girl took advantage. She didn't introduce herself so I don't know her name but I will never forget her face!!! EDIT TO UPDATE: I got in contact with the GM at Friendlys South Weymouth. She verified my tip was in fact changed and said the "server hadn't come in yet" so she couldn't ask what happened. She offered to refund me the DIFFERENCE of my tip and the changed tip and didn't offer any sort of apologetic/ and or complimentary anything to make up for the experience. I had to call back and explain that we leave our trust in signing our names and totals on the receipt and are essentially robbed if that's taken advantage of! LAST EDIT: servers name is Jessica Martell and the GM Judy agreed to refund total of meal.
