It really pains me to give this place 3 stars but I've gone here three different times now and I've always left feeling disappointed :( The view from Frigate's is absolutely beautiful- during the day the water sparkles and you can even pull up via boat. However, the food is never to my standard. I visited last weekend and ordered oysters, calamari, and spicy tuna dip. The oysters were great but the calamari tasted really plain- almost like there was no seasoning on it. The spicy tuna dip was not even close to being spicy, and I was surprised they served plain tortilla chips instead of wonton chips (just a personal thought- either way it wasn't that great). I am willing to give Frigate's another try but it may not be for a while. read more

Christina and staff exceeded all our expectations for our January 2023 wedding at Frigates Melbourne. The waterfront views and meticulous landscaping made for a beautiful location for our small wedding. We enjoyed an amazing sunset and the great outdoor lighting once it got dark. The temperature was unseasonably cold, but the staff added propane heaters and kept them running. The food was fantastic. Our guests raved about the coconut shrimp, stone crab chowder, pork asada and mahi with mango salsa. The dessert table was also fabulous! read more

Great views & even better food! My husband and I stopped by this restaurant on a whim after visiting a friend in the area and it did not disappoint. We got a table with a view of the water and a beautiful breeze. My husband ordered the blackened mahi fish tacos with mushroom risotto as a side. First of all, bravo on having risotto as a side option and secondly, wow was it executed well! The fish tacos were also tasty. I ordered a mahi sandwich "bronzed" which is a seasoning option that includes coriander and curry. The fish was cooked perfectly and the unique seasoning made it the best fish I've had at any restaurant. Kaili L was our server and she was friendly and super attentive. She answered our questions and helped with recommendations. I highly recommend this restaurant, and will be back again soon! read more

The steak sandwich and fries were both excellent. The issue is the waitress had too many tables handle but did her best. I would still come back when back in the area. Our service was great! We were a party of 7 with 3 kids (6,10,12), there was a very long wait for outside so we took first available and ate inside with a view. We had an array of appetizers that were all very good... Oysters, calamari... The snapper was astounding! We went here last week 5 in celebration of my cousins 70th! 5 meals each one lacking the I have been here several time so inconsistent! Afterwards called manager up and left my number there was no call back! The restaurant had beautiful view food but not one of the dishes was good! A friend took us to this restaurant as a thank you for helping her. It had nice reviews and promised to be an enjoyable experience. It did not turn out so well. We showed up e exactly at the time of our reservation and was told there were no seats available inside. (Our reservations were very specific for inside seating as it was unseasonably cold). We were told to wait in a breezeway with the cold wind blowing through and the wait was said to be 20 minutes. We discussed waiting in the car or leaving altogether. They entered our name as a walk-in which resulted in our name being entered twice. When are name was called for inside seating we saw 3 empty 4 tops and a booth empty in the dining room. The food was disappointing, looked well presented but the onion soup was Luke warm instead of piping hot, the asparagus was woody with only the tips edible. The beet salad was void of beets and we had to ask for more. The French dip sandwich was cold with and the au-jus was not hot. The rest was good but the whole experience was disappointing. Some options were not available so I ooed for a burger and fries. The view from my table was ok. I mean the river is nice but th old rusted graffiti covered train bridge is just an awful eye sore. My food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. The burger was good but not the best in the area. The fries were expertly fried and very tasty. Probably the worst Florida dining experience ever. Nice looking place with a solo guitar player. Slow service. Really slow.. we ordered a drink then waited forever for our two appetizers, edamame and fish dip. First was fine, fish dip was ok... Then my wife got the worst lobster roll we've ever seen. It was not edible. The lobster appeared to be cooked then frozen, with no mayo or butter. Same for the creamed spinach, it was like a big clump of spinach and feta in a baking dish. Terrible place. I've been for brunch - which has too many items to list but you will leave full and satisfied! Frigate's "big thing" is their outdoor dining area. It's large, spacious, and beautiful. Gorgeous, even! The food is pretty standard Space-Coast-waterfront dining fare. Lots of fried this and blackened that. I would have loved to sample more of the menu, such as the sushi, but hoo boy their rolls are pricey. A shrimp tempura roll for $17?!?! Doesn't make sense to me. While my family and I had a good time dining there, I felt like it was generally a more expensive place without, necessarily, the cuisine to back it up. There was also some service struggles. We asked for plates for our shared appetizer and that was apparently a big ask. Getting straws also involved flagging down five different passing individuals. All in all, this is a sorely needed restaurant in my home county, Brevard, but at the price point, I do have higher expectations. Clean plates were even difficult to come by and I had to stand around for a long time to get them. Never again. Attempted to talk to the manager who had excuses for why things were not up to par and as soon as she walked away appeared to be making light of what I had said with our waitress. This is a great place to come have a drink at the bar on the river. It has great atmosphere, they have a dock you can bring your boat in get out and have a good drink. On the weekends it gets pretty busy, so try and get there early. They do have indoor dining but it's limited. Their sushi is pretty good. I did have to request a wine glass with a stem as it was served in a stemless for my red. Personal preference I suppose I order the Brie fried chicken sandwich! What a delicious meal it was! Crispy fries. Yum! My friends orders looks equally good! Though the steak on my friends plate was too charred and the risotto was so undercooked it had to be sent back. My only complain is there are open til 10... but at 9:30 all the light were just SHUT OFF while we sat there finishing our drinks. A very rude way to ask people to leave when you claim to still be open. We probably would have ordered more drinks but alas. Hostess states it will be 25 min for outdoor seating. 45 min later I ask for a time frame, a different hostess states times these customers have been seated, so I say ok great, but how mych longer? She says oh about 20 min! Which I follow up with that's almost as long as you told me to begin with, 45 min ago! Needless to say we walked out, will not go back, and here am writing a review to hopefully save all you people from dropping big money to wait longer than you wanted to. Today we had a great time with friends who enjoyed prime steak with a sweet lobster tail, a delicious shrimp and scallops in a spicy angel hair pasta in a garlic and tomato sauce.
