If you're looking for one of the best outdoor waterfront spots in Brevard, Frigates is always at the top of my list. The view alone makes it worth the visit, but the food keeps me coming back every time. Their Sunday brunch is amazing great variety, delicious food, and the perfect way to enjoy a laid-back morning by the water. During the week they also have really good lunch specials, and everything I've tried has been fresh and flavorful. Between the waterfront seating, relaxed atmosphere, and consistently good food, Frigates is one of my go-to places when I want a great meal with a view. Definitely a local favorite for a reason!

Only thing I like here is the location & FL lager. Spoke to the manager about a couple things. She was accommodating to an extent but no accountability. Won't be here unless I come for Sunday brunch. Still irritated about the lasts experiences I had here. Oh and 20% tip is auto added.

Our out of town guests consistently rank this as their favorite of all the places we take them to. Hands down. Meat, Fish, and Vegetarian friends are all always happy with the selections available and what they receive. The staff are always accommodating when we come in groups. It's lively at night in the bar area, and romantic at the tables by the water. Something for everyone.

Excellent food, service felt a bit rushed. The drinks were wonderful. Peel and eat shrimp were huge and delicious. The view was the main reason we made reservations. Absolutely gorgeous!

I had heard many great things about Frigate's from locals and was very pleased when my coworker chose this spot for her retirement lunch. With a group of 10+ people, they were extremely accommodating. Once our entire party arrived, we were promptly seated outside on the deck in a nicely shaded area with terrific views of the river. We even spotted some alligators and dolphins! Everything on the menu looked and sounded amazing, with plenty of fantastic seafood options. For appetizers, we ordered the crispy calamari and cracked conch. Both were delicious and so popular they were devoured within minutes. I had a hard time choosing a lunch entrée because everything sounded so good, but I ultimately decided on the sushi. I ordered the Seminole Roll: krab, spicy tuna, topped with tuna, tempura flakes, eel sauce, spicy mayo, and sriracha. It was one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had. They were also huge! I saved half for lunch the following day. A few of my coworkers ordered the grouper sandwich, and it looked incredible as well. Everything was very fresh, and the portions were generous. Considering the size of our group, I was very impressed with the speed of service. Everything was flawless, and our server was fantastic. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I look forward to coming back for a date with my hubby. It's hard to resist the food and those beautiful waterfront views.

We were driving from Ponte Vedra to Fort Lauderdale today and decided to give this place a try for lunch. I am so glad we did because it was great! First of all the outdoor seating and ambiance is fantastic. The menu had plenty of appetizers, salads, sushi, sandwiches and entrees. Our server, Justin, made some recommendations and I went with one of them and ordered the grouper sandwich. It was macadamia and coconut crusted and was the Crispiest fish sandwich I have ever had. My husband had the fish tacos and they also looked and tasted great. The whole meal was a delight.

Taste: 4/5 Value: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Came here to try their brunch and left very impressed! Brunch is all you can eat and provides a ton of different options in different areas of the restaurant. Lots of tasty different things to try and a really nice lively atmosphere with views of the water. I can't speak typical lunch and dinner experiences here, but we'll definitely be back for brunch!

My wife and I stopped by for an early dinner. It was pouring rain so we sat inside. They do have a beautiful view of the water outside. Inside doesn't offer any views. My wife had the Mahi tacos and I had the macadamia nut and coconut crusted grouper. Both were delicious. I also had the pineapple fried rice which was fabulous. We started with the cracked Conch which was also delicious. Kudos to the kitchen staff for a wonderful meal. Our experience was enhanced by our server Sam. He was very engaging, attentive and patient. He is well suited to his endeavors. Highly recommend to any and all! Lindsay and Linda Johnson

I recently dined at Frigates for the first time, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The best part of the evening was the outdoor seating--a tranquil view by the water that was relaxing, though sitting outside in Florida's humidity may not be for everyone. There was no wait to be seated, which was convenient, and the service overall was just "alright." The menu felt limited, especially for a place that should highlight seafood. To start, we had the fried calamari. For drinks, I ordered the frozen creamsicle cocktail--like an adult orange creamsicle shake with vodka--which was fun and refreshing. For entrées, I went with the Spicy Mediterranean Bowl. While it included shrimp, scallops, pasta, and feta cheese, the Mediterranean label felt more like a stretch than a true description. My husband ordered the grilled salmon, which he enjoyed. We had planned on dessert and chose the flourless chocolate cake, but our server presented the check without even asking if we wanted dessert. When the cake finally came out, our spoons were placed directly over the chocolate syrup--making them sticky and messy to use. After asking for clean spoons, we weren't even offered an apology, which felt careless. Overall, while the setting was nice, the food and service didn't impress, and I don't see us returning for a second visit.

Outdoor patio is absolutely gorgeous! Overall a nice place, get a seat outside if you can! I ordered the macadamian crusted snapper, it was overall good, the cheesecake banana foster was very good.

What a beautiful tropical setting for a casual lunch on a Friday afternoon! We stopped by while driving through Florida, and we were fortunate to find Frigates. I had the tacos and an iced tea, but the best part was really the beautiful environment and the wonderful service from Justin. This restaurant is what enjoying Florida is all about - sunshine, palm trees, a waterfront location, with wonderful food and great service. There are so many seating locations within the restaurant that all patrons should be able to find their happy place, weather inside in air conditioning, or outside in nature. Pricing is quite reasonable, averaging just about $30 per person all in, including tip, tax and drinks. Everybody at the restaurant was extra kind in notifying us that the tip/service fee is included in the bill, the service was so wonderful that we tipped a little extra to recognize the quality of their staff. If I lived in the Melbourne area, I'd certainly be there more often - for us, I'll just make sure to stop by every time we pass through town.

    Beautiful view from our table

We loved dining here. We sat next to the waterfront and had a beautiful view. They had many fans running to help keep the temperature down. The food was very fresh and delicious! They do require a 20% service charge on all bills, but tell you that when you arrive.

A simple "welcome in" would have been enough. Once she arrived, our server was genuinely warm. That part recovered. I ordered wine; the list was solid and the prices fair. My wife ordered a "cocktail" that turned out to be essentially a beer drink with extras. No issues there. The space is playful, but placing Playboy magazines on every single table pushed the nostalgia into odd territory. One or two as accent pieces would have been plenty. We wanted something to share before dinner. The only fully composed cheese plate was $48. Individual cheeses and meats were available in the $8-15 range, but the menu was confusing--too many options with no clear guidance on how to mix and match. It felt overwhelming rather than curated. We ordered the tuna appetizer instead ($25). It was canned white tuna, taken from the can, dressed with a little oil/seasoning and thin-sliced onion, served on crostini that had been toasted to the point of hardness. It tasted fine. It was not a $25 dish. We won't be back. A wine bar that positions itself around small producers and thoughtful selection should also deliver basic hospitality and honest value on the plate. On this visit, both were missing.
