Have visited feitangas twice for breakfast Very delicious and their kids breakfast items are appealing to kids. The only thing to remember is that the menu they hand you for breakfast is not their full menu. My wife and I have been meaning to stop into Fritangas since 2016. Well, we finally made it there for a great dine in experience this past Sunday. I originally had a hankering for some menudo, but once I got to perusing the menu, I changed my mind. The inside is a nice average dining space. The only issue with our booth was that it was located right next to the door and every time someone would come or go, the ADT alarm system would chime with "left" or "right" depending on which door was opened. I was able to easily forget about that once our food arrived. The service was outstanding, with multiple servers stopping by to make sure everything was ok. Our order was taken quickly with me settling on the Huevos con Chorizo and my wife having the Breakfast Quesadilla. Both came out quickly and were large portions and hot. I also ordered a Michelada (beer, tomato juice, spices, lime) and it was awesome. My Huevos were scrambled just right with lots of Chorizo. I had the option of corn or flour tortillas and chose the corn. I asked to switch the potatoes with rice and it was not a problem, so mine came with rice and beans. My wife's Quesadilla was delicious with a large scoop of guacamole and salad. Both dishes were served with a cup of green chile with chunks of pork. Needless to say, we needed a to-go box. Not sure how there are bad reviews on here. This place is great. Their carne asada burrito is awesome, as well as lots of other foods we have tried. We often get their handheld breakfast burritos, they are a good size too & it's super convenient that they have a drive thru. Everything is made fresh to order tho, so don't expect the drive thru to be fast like a McDonalds. Also I will note their green chile hot, in my opinion is more of a medium. read more

Honestly the worst Mexican food I've ever experienced. I've given them three opportunities each time trying something different. A school cafeteria would have better food. No flavor on anything, rice is what I believe to be bland brown rice, they never have any melted cheese on anything which tells you the temperature it's served and prepared, chips are stale, salsa and guacamole are bland. The popular South Federal restaurant known as Fritangas has spawned a sister in Aurora, and here's the skinny. Seeking just a little snack to ward off that hunger? How about some Molletes? This northern Mexican specialty consists of hollowed-out Bolillo bread rounds filled with refried beans and cheese, then grilled to just the right level of gooey-ness. You could also have a look at their array of cornmeal creations - Sopes are round and Huaraches are sandal-shaped but either is topped with your choice of grilled meats, veggies, etc. (Sometimes Fritangas even has Tlacoyos, which are also corn-based and a bit more oblong than a Huarache). Or why not try one of their quesadillas, stuffed with mushrooms and cheese, spicy chicken, pork rinds... (by the way, if you do go this route, please be advised that the quesadillas served here are the folded kind, not the Sincronizada (one tortilla over another) variety). Oh, those didn't fill you up? No problem! Here's still more to meditate over. One of my most favorite sandwiches is the Mexico City wonder called the Pambazo - fried chile-soaked bread stuffed with chorizo and potatoes. And Fritangas definitely does it right - you'll be feeling the burn more than a certain Secretary of State after just a few bites. I've also always been a big fan of Alambres which, in the version offered here, presents no less than five meats (ham, chorizo, chicken, steak, and hot dogs) stir-fried with onions and bell peppers, then napped in thick melted cheese. Ah, you're in a more marine mood. Well, in that case, a big steaming bowl of mixed-seafood stew [Caldo de Siete Mares] will be just what you need, and then some. Another good choice is Carne Tampiqueña - grilled beef sided with a cheese enchilada, rice and refried beans. But it's all good, so why not become a regular at Fritangas, and work your way across the menu? read more

Went to a new Mexican restaurant in our neighborhood. I was surprised to see one crop up since we have 2 other Mexican restaurants within a 2 block radius of this new place. They took over the old taco bell building that has one of the worst parking lots. We have seen several businesses fail because of that stupid parking lot design for the drive through. I spoke to the owner a week before they opened & he had mentioned they may offer a drive through if things go well. Watching over the last week or so when we drive by, they have kept steady & busy. There's not enough places that will make mild food for someone like me. I can't have hot peppers, not because I'm a wussy, I just don't like having a swollen tongue. The menu is HUGE. All the food is fresh, no frozen or canned ingredients. I had Carnes Asada & my husband had chilli releno & a chicken chimichanga. Quite delicious! This little restaurant starts you off mild on just about everything and you decide how hot your food will be when you order it. I finally can have a flavorful & mild dinner. I had to fight a few tears of joy because I have not had menudo in so many years and they have it. It smelled & tasted like the menudo the neighbors use to make and feed me on weekends. I ordered a large and took it home to have today. It was good eats and I appreciate that they gave me a free sample of the menudo before I decided to order some to take home. The portions were generous & maybe not as good as the home cooking I've had but it's damn close. Also some of the best service I have ever had. All the waitstaff share serving each of the tables. The service at this place is some of the worst I've had. Don't bother asking them for help because they will flat out lie to you. There are too many decent Mexican restaurants in town to put up with this garbage. Order was placed hours ago so it would be ready but they cancelled it at the time it was to be picked up. I have ordered the street tacos, burrito supreme, crunchy tacos, enchiladas, and everything has been so delicious and fresh. I love their array of salsas! I always ask for the spiciest one. Lately my regular order is the beef street taco. They are very generous with the cilantro and onion and the plating is always very pretty. The service here is speedy, you seat yourself, and we always get a friendly server. Everything is very reasonably priced, so that encourages me to return frequently. I love that this restaurant is two minutes from my house. I feel like a few reviews on this restaurant are basing them on one bad experience. All restaurants have a bad day, we are human and people make mistakes. I have been here more than five times and overall it is a really great restaurant. Only give it a bad review if you've had more than one bad experience, otherwise you sound like a whiner. read more

Mexican food and brunch always go well together in my books. We moved down the street from this place called Fritangas. The building used to be a Taco Bell back in the day and now has turned into a small quick dining joint. We finally tried it out and were not disappointed. I got a chicken fajita omelet with spicy pork green chili and hash browns. Brian decided on chorizo and eggs with potatoes, beans and mild pork green chili. What I learned was that their spicy green chili is on fire! The mild has better flavor and you can taste your food. :) The chicken fajita omelet was killer. The food and service were fantastic. The only drawbacks for this place is that the seating area is small and they close pretty early if you want a late night bite. read more

Color me surprised to find that a place that looks like an old Taco Bell is an actual Mexican restaurant! I've been eyeing this place for awhile upon the suggestion of my coworker that they not only serve huge portions at a low price but never really found the time to come here. Enter in a Sunday morning right after a killer workout and in need of some food to fill me up. They have a drive thru (because they used to be a Taco Bell??) so I pulled up and ordered a sausage, egg and potato burrito ($3.75) and bacon and egg burrito ($3) and a minute or two later, I was driving away with two huge burritos. They put green chile on their burritos and I got the medium but really didn't catch any spice from it. It kept me full for a good portion of the day and my fiancé loved his as well. We will definitely be back for breakfast or to get food to go before heading to Dry Dock! read more

This Fritanga's location is a great local addition, and my family's go-to spot for any meal of the day. I ordered the following - Carne Asada Taco Plate Chicken Flautas Steak breakfast burrito 2 kids cheese enchiladas I waited in the drive thru for my order for over 20 minutes, ok it's a lot of food I guess...whatever. However, when I got my food it was cold, the cheese in the enchiladas was not even melted just shredded cheese stuffed in a cold tortillas with cold red sauce. The carne asada tasted old and the beans on my combo were also ice cold. The breakfast burrito was "wet" and tasted funky according to my 16 year old who eats anything. The flautas were disgusting, filled with old dried out chicken and no flavor. I spent over $40 on this food and it all went straight to the trash. Visit #3 with a friend for lunch. I ordered the Vegetarian Combo: 1 Cheese enchilada, 1 guacamole tostada, and 1 bean burrito, with hot green chili smother. I love guacamole tostadas. The cheese enchilada was definitely a cheese enchilada. The cheese all gooed out and became one with the enchilada sauce on the plate...soup! It was good though! Their enchilada sauce is pretty darn good! It probably mixed with some of the green chili smother. I took my bean burrito to go and ate it later. It was a basic bean burrito. The smother was supposed to be hot. It was not. It tasted good. Service. It is kinda weird there. They don't really "check" on you, per se...that I have experienced. But it's kind of OK.
