I've eaten here a number of times and always find the food good. However, my sister and I ordered takeout from there to find that her grilled chicken salad was without ANY chicken and my rice bowl didn't contain two of the listed ingredients. When called to tell them, they stated the rice bowl hasn't contained those listed ingredients for 1-2 years. Yet, the online menu as well as the menu at the restaurant still lists them. That's not acceptable in my opinion. They did offer to remake the salad but we would have to travel back to town to get it. That's a no! Paid cash so they offered a credit towards my sister's next visit. I don't think she's been back. read more

Just passing through town, on a road trip, bringing my snooty foodie attitude with me and feeling like I'm in no man's land. Searched Yelp for somewhere to fill the belly and came up with this place, not too far from the freeway in downtown Red Bluff. Yowzer! Wasn't expecting that. I had a black and blue salad with marinated skirt steak, nice and rare, obvs marinated in tasty red wine vinegar. Freshest greens, delish blue cheese and other sprinklings added; pomegranate dressing. Yum-may! The hubs had a seared ahi tuna bowl and not one speck was left when he folded his napkin. He even ate the fresh jalapeños and every grain of brown rice. The ahi was perfect. Not fancy. Not pretentious. Friendly and efficient staff. Order at the counter and they bring it to you wherever you are. Tables in house and picnic tables out front. There were some seriously gorgeous pastries and mini-pies in the bakery case but I had to ignore them. It was hard, too. Key lime pie was in there... If you're driving this way, check it out. I can't speak for everything, but our food was really good. I'd go there again in a heartbeat. read more

We found this gem by coincidence, stayed in a motel nearby in our 4th of July road trip. Upon coming in, we were greeted by friendly staff, got our order in and proceeded to sit inside (yes, you can enjoy your meal in, even during COVID now). The place is delightfully decorated with posters, is clean and plays nice low-key music. Lucky to have found it. The breakfast was delicious even though the portions were on the small side--you just have to order more. The coffee is memorable. Will be back the next time we go to Lassen NP. read more

Ordered the croissant Benedict, it was fairly tasty but picture on menu showed a generous portion of avocado on top and mine had none. The eggs were cooked perfectly but it needed 3 times the amount of hollandaise sauce to be a proper Benedict, barely a lite drizzle, but sauce was tasty. A small amount of potatoes that were nothing special. The coffee was exceptional, as good as Starbucks. The girl working the counter was very warm, friendly and professional. I was there at 7:15 AM on 9/22/23. The sink in the mens room was absolutely filthy and disgusting. If I would have seen this before I ate I would have left. I have been in hospitality my entire career and I know if businesses don't keep their restrooms clean then that is their standard and the kitchen is filthy. Would not return. read more

A cute local restaurant, great for breakfast! They have an awesome selection of breakfast items - omelettes, eggs Benedict, waffles, scrambles, and burritos. To order, you form a line at the cashier, pay, and you are given a number to take to your table - someone will bring out your food. Vegan review- to me nothing on the menu suggested they had vegan options. But thanks to the Yelp vegan reviewers I asked at the register and was told anything can be made with with no meat and extra veggies, or replace meat with avo or tofu. Girl on the register was super sweet! So I tried the teriyaki bowl with tofu. Man was it good! It was a whole flavor party in my mouth. The quantity was just enough for me. We were searching Yelp! for a place to eat in Red Bluff and From The Hearth popped up. We decided to try it. We almost drove past it because it looked closed; but, we saw a light inside. This being a three day holiday weekend there was lots of street parking available. Once inside I feel that this restaurant is special. We ordered at the counter and took our drinks and table sign to a booth. There were water glasses and tap water at the Watering Hole. My wife nursed her mocha the entire meal and was able to save enough to take back to our hotel. I drank a bottle of lemon flavored sparkling water. My French Dip was excellent. While I was trying to work out why the sandwich was so good, it dawned on me the this was a bakery, the bun was about the best that I have enjoyed. The same went for my wife's hamburger. The bun really made the burger. The fries were very good and passed the good-when-cold test with a grade of A+. We finished the meal by sharing a Wild Berry Pie. Maybe the next time I will order a couple of pies for my meal. read more

Better than any in Los Angeles (where we are from), and I had the Bbq chicken salad- great size, wonderful taste, yummy fresh bread on the side..... Mmmmmmmm! We celebrated three Birthdays yesterday at your lovely restaurant. My folks first suggested ( out of habit ) to go to a tired restaurant in Antelope with short hours of operation. I quickly suggested From The Hearth as we had food catered from you for a large party before. The food was superb! My husband and I had the Ukrainian Reuben sandwiches along with a side of pesto pasta salad. My parents had the Cobb salad. The ambiance is so nice. Families, church gatherings, couples. The Jamaican jerk chicken bowl was mediocre because I didn't particularly like the sauce it had a little bit of a weird texture. The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned however so if you want to try jerk chicken now is the chance. The mushroom and eggplant bowl was SOOO good. The teriyaki sauce was enlightening and the textures mixed up. We also got a maple cream donut which I highly recommend the combination of the sweet cream and maple frosting was elite. Ask them to heat it up a little. They have a large array of bakery items to choose from. Onto the ambiance. IT WAS SO NICE INSIDE. We stopped here on the way to Oregon, and again on the way back as we all LOVED the food! I got the Chi Bowl first and then the Texas Steak salad the second time. Both were fresh, flavorful and tasty. The family really loves the Not-So-Fried chicken and the fries! I also got an oatmilk latte both times and found it to be on par with gourmet coffee house quality. If I were closer, I'd get my lattes here every day. Excellent and speedy service too! Excellent chicken sandwich. Best I've ever had the house made bun was so fresh. Grilled chicken still a bit juicy, avocado was mashed so it didn't fall out. Top all that with chipotle sauce and pepper Jack, it's amazing! Something so simple yet most other restaurants miss the mark. My husband had the Kailua pork which he enjoyed very much. Now about the food, this place is my go to, I am vegan so here in red bluff there isn't many options for me but this place delivers! Their fries are the best! And their coffee is so good! Stopped into this cute, clean, quaint little quick service restaurant on our way through town up HWY 5. It was quite a nice surprise to say the least! We came in for breakfast and their menu offered a few omelettes, a few Benedict's (one of them is offered on a croissant and another one came on their sliced house made sourdough), a few unique waffles such as a Churro waffle, breakfast sandwich and an array of fresh, house made pastries and muffins beautifully displayed in the case. The young man behind the counter was pleasant, cheerful, welcoming and helpful...especially for 7:00am. We selected a breakfast sandwich, the croissant Benedict and the Oats of the kids menu for our little one. For drinks I just went with a drip coffee and my husband got their cold brew. We are always fans of quick service as an option, since we have a five year old it's nice to be able to choose, order and pay in advance so we can move at our own pace. The food came out pretty fast and was clearly high quality. Our daughter loves her oats with cream, brown sugar and fresh strawberries. My husband's breakfast sandwich was top notch; simple bacon-egg-cheese on grilled sourdough but everything was excellent quality. My Benedict was tasty as well and while both of our entrees came with potatoes, we found them to be the most underwhelming part of the experience.
