This was the #1 stop I was most looking forward to on our recent trip to Williams. The two star review tells you this did not meet expectations. It wasn't a total waste but it definitely seems like things have changed since the rave barbecue reviews... We came in the early afternoon after a day of driving through monsoons with a toddler. The location is right as you drive into town, super welcoming, and very kid friendly - tons of contained outdoor play space, with lawn games, a mining area, a sasquatch statue for photos, and tons of covered seating. They even have wifi for me to get some work done. All plusses! Things took a steep turn when we went to order. After waiting in line, there is a tiny sign at the register that they are out of several products - no pulled chicken, pulled pork, texas twinkies, or wings. The last two were going to be in my order, so we did a quick pivot for a Partner Platter for $45, with ribs, brisket, sausage, mac and cheese, and beans. It should have been a red flag that they didn't ask if I wanted lean or fatty cut brisket. What arrived was a mess. My husband asked what proteins I got because it wasn't visually evident. The ribs had a bark on them that was 2/3rds of the way to jerky. The brisket was so shredded and dry, even their three house sauces couldn't save it. The sausage was served split and cut side town, because it too was dry AF. I hate letting protein go to waste but these were awful. Sides were fine, my toddler inhaled half the macaroni and the beans were okay. Cornbread has a bit of jalapeno in it, which I prefer over sweeter versions that are more common. But damn, this was a $50+ meal that basically fed a two year old. Service throughout was super friendly. It's not the food runner's fault that the kitchen is serving up dried out proteins and I am understanding about the fact that their walk in supposedly crapped out (the explanation we were given for so many items being unavailable). None of the other customers seemed visibly upset by their food quality, but I gradually noticed most people were ordering burgers, so maybe we ordered wrong. But if this is the norm for the barbecue they serve, they need to take it off the menu altogether. Great spot for kids to play and to stretch your legs after a long drive, or to enjoy the nice weather - but maybe just grab drinks or apps. read more

I really wanted to like Frontier Family Fun. The concept is great with food, drinks, gem mining, outdoor games on the patio, but the execution just isn't there. You order at the counter, and the woman taking orders acted annoyed the moment I asked what beers were on draft. The printed menu I was looking at in line only says "local rotating draft," so I didn't realize there was a sign on the wall. Apparently asking a basic question was too much. We also tried to order mac and cheese as a side and were told they were out... at 5pm. Odd, but whatever. Then we sat down and watched multiple other tables get mac and cheese with their meals, so that was frustrating. We ordered the partner platter with ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. All three meats came out cold. Even if they had been hot, the flavor was pretty meh. We went back for another round of drinks and ordered the watermelon margarita special for Memorial Day and another beer. The guy at the register rang the margarita up as $12 even though the sign right next to him clearly said $8. He corrected it when I pointed it out, but it felt shady. The gem mining and outdoor games were fun and the space itself has potential, but between the service issues, the cold food, and the weird pricing moment, it's hard to justify coming back. read more

What an awesome spot! Super family friendly with activities and fire pits. We shared the partner platter and it filled us up! The ribs, tatter tots and Brussels were the star of the show, so tasty. Our second time here, this time during the day time so completely different experience. We get there around noon on Sunday. It was beautiful day on December, and there were no people outside. It was absolutely amazing for out family. We played tennis table, and all kinds of different games. They have connect 4, hook game.... and they have the construction made of mini Mining procedure, wooden construction to show kids/adults how mining is working. Definitely good place to hang out with kids. Employees are nice and good is good. They didn't have French fries but their tater tots was amazing, even better that chicken nuggets. Burger was also delicious. Outside seating is great, thay have firepit and comfortable chairs. Inside is also great interior - all about mining. We absolutely enjoyed hanging out here last weekend while camping in Williams. Weather was perfect. Nice escape from valley heat. This is a great outdoor space. Games for the entire family. Kids were entertained, which is always nice so parents/adults can just hang out. BBQ was great. We shared the family platter with brisket, sausage and pulled pork. Pork was a little dry but still tasty. Just added more bbq sauce. Brisket was our favorite. Staff were great. We will absolutely come back next time we are in Williams. read more

This is hands down best brisket in Arizona! Best I've had in a very long time the portions are good price is fairly good if you know you know, good BBQ comes at a price. The vibes are great they have games for the kids or adults and you can even pan for gold! I recommend getting a platter so you can try it all you won't be disappointed with any of their offerings. The espresso martini was delicious to top it all off our bartender Delaney made the drink and our experience over the top. Perfect for families! If you have kids, this is the place to go! There's so much to do--ping pong, shooting games, mining, corn hole--you name it. It kept our whole crew entertained for hours. You order at the bar, which keeps things casual and easy, and the drink prices were surprisingly great--definitely a bonus! We started with the wings and tried their golden BBQ sauce--so good! We also ordered a platter for two, and the portions were huge. The food came out a bit cold, but the flavor was still really good (otherwise I would've given 5 stars). We are local and come here regularly for both lunch and dinner. We were very disappointed tonight though. The food all tasted great (like normal) but, the tater tots, which are normally nice and crispy and is our go-to side were not crispy at all and the mac-n-cheese was lukewarm at best. What a fun spot in Williams! You order at the counter at the bar then take your number and find a table you like. They have about a dozen tables and bar seating inside which is decorated with that western flair and nicely done but the outside dining is quite a large space & super fun. There is a shooting gallery, gold mining, corn hole, roping and a fun Old Miner machine which keeps kids entertained while waiting. We were entertained watching them The menu is mostly BBQ and very good! Kids menu has about 5 choices more their speed. A must is their tator tots! We came across this place by mere accident as we were leaving the town of Williams, AZ. It is dog friendly, so we sat outdoors in the very impressive setup they have. This is a great spot for large groups, children, and for your puppies. There are park-bench style seating areas along with an area where you can sit around fire pits. A grass area is set up for corn hole and there is also a real cute area where kids can mine for gems (for a price of course!). This reminded me of Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA. I'm guessing they have performances/live music too, because there is also a small stage. Food orders are taken inside, but will be delivered to your outdoor table when ready. Since it was a little too early for dinner and we had already eaten lunch, we decided we would just have an appetizer and a cold drink. My husband ordered a beer and I settled for a Diet Coke (I believe it tasted more like a Pepsi ) and we ordered some Hot Wings. My husband went inside to place our order and I must say, it came out pretty quickly. The wings were a perfect portion for two (about 8 pieces) and were hardy pieces with a lot of meat. I didn't care much for the flavor (Buffalo) and I thought they were a little on the dry side. However, my husband loved them and this is why I recommend you try them for yourself!! Unfortunately the only reason I stepped inside was to use the facilities. They are gender neutral, single bathrooms that are easily accessible when you walk in through the doors and the one I used was very clean. It was a bit on the louder side, but this is a bar and grill style restaurant and I believe they had football games on. I do think I would stop by again and try something other than an appetizer, because the food I did see looked yummy and the place was crowded! I could only imagine that it must be good! On the very edge of town, Frontier is a great place to spend a couple of hours unwinding, enjoying some music and having some good food & drink. While walking around Williams, a handsome cowboy approached us to let us know of a Wild West gun show getting ready to take place "just down the street" in about 15 minutes so not having anything better to do, we hightailed it about seven blocks to catch the show right outside of Frontier Family Fun. So glad we did because we probably wouldn't have made it all the way to Frontier if it hadn't been for the special attraction. Frontier has an amazing outdoor space and lot of action taking place. We sat at the bar inside first and ordered a couple of drinks from "Bubba", our friendly bartender. I ordered a dirty martini and the young man served one up to me that was pretty decent considering it was his first time EVER making a martini!! We made our way outside after placing our food order and found some very comfortable couch seating with a fire pit. We tried the Texas Twinkies which are brisket/cream cheese/gouda stuffed bacon wrapped jalapenos. Delicious! We also ordered a plate with brisket, ribs, cornbread, mac 'n cheese and coleslaw. All very good however we were enjoying our drinks and the live music a little too much to eat all that food, LOL - so we took most of it to go and then back to Tucson for dinner tonight. Mmmmm. Frontier is such a fun environment with so much outdoor seating. There were families playing games like cornhole, giant Jenga and just having a great time. The space is dog friendly too as there were a couple of people with dogs outside. Oh yeah! There's an ice cream cart as well and they serve up delicious, gourmet ice cream.
