The dark chocolate is very dark and delicious, the blackberry cabernet is tart and full of real fruit and the coconut is light and sweet and flavorful. Get a medium and get two flavors side-by-side, along with a little rolled cookie. Frost also serves up coffee and coffee drinks, as well as a few other treats that I'll definitely be back to try. Wow! I had never seen this place before since Uptown isn't a place I normally visit. I have been back several times since and am always thrilled with the service and product. You go in and the place is usually packed. And rightfully so. The price is right and the service is great. As many free samples as you need to make your choice and there are tons of choices. A large is around $5 and you get three selections. The decor is very pleasing and makes up for the cramped space the business is in. I'd love to see them in a bigger space. There are only 4 tables and a small bar area and they definitely need more room. During a recent visit some guy came in and tried to sell us perfume. The staff didn't ask him to leave or address the situation in any way. That was disappointing since I didn't go there to be approached by sales people, but overall the place is pretty epic. Decided to try this place out yesterday evening since they have gelato and coffee. Ordered a small cup of gelato and an affogatto. First of all, the cup for the gelato was way too small for the price. Second, they didn't even fill the cup all the way for the affogato. The cup was only 1/3 filled!! I have definitely had better gelato and affogato and I won't be coming back. Very disappointed. This place is way too overpriced and it must be a tourist trap. read more

Wow. Overly hyped gelato spot!! Maybe just this location was overly hyped but my goodness. The place is decked out with all these over the top flavors... i can see why people go nuts over it. But to be honest, i wasnt as impressed by their flavors as the gelato in El Paso at Gufo di Milano. Frost has this somewhat more artificial/overly sweetened flavor to it that i just didnt even want to finish it. Sure, i got a scoop of 2 different flavors so it was quite a lot of gelato... but the point is i could usually annihilate that sucker! Love this location because of the uptown location with outdoor and indoor seating. I do go here more often in the summer time because of the nice scenery. I love gelato and coming here with my sister!! However last night we decided to eat inside and I noticed a rather distasteful picture hanging on the wall that was stressful and downright irresponsible. It's a picture of a water fountain with dozens of their paper gelato cups (empty) thrown into the fountain. I'm not sure why management thought this picture was a good idea??? I did ask the woman at the register about the franchise, turns out we're one of a few limited markets and the business is entirely independently owned/operated. The choice to open in ABQ seems obvious: the only gelato shop we knew of died a few years ago in Nob Hill. But this place, Holy Consumerism, they bring selection to another level. Pick your poison, there are far too many flavors to comprehend, sorbet, too. I hear the leftovers are offered to neighboring businesses and everybody loves 'em. Count me in. I had the pistachio and green tea combo. The pistachio was good, the green tea absolutely fantastic. I went here two days in a row....I LOVE IT! Pricey...yes...but I thought it was worth it. First night I went to try it out, had a small Pineapple sorbet...delicious! They really pack it in the container you buy. 2nd night, I took my daughter so she could try it too. I sampled several flavors, but once again was drawn to Pineapple but asked for the Coconut gelato mixed with it. MMMMM!! Tropical paradise on my tastebuds! I loved it and it's now my favorite dessert! My daughter tried several as well and settled on Bubble Gum gelato, which has actual pieces of bubble gum in it, and Berry Cabernet which does have a subtle wine flavor. This is the best Gelato in Albuquerque, hands down!! I have been here many times and never walked away disappointed. They have a huge variety of flavors to satisfy any craving you may have. From salty pistachio to lusciously rich ultra dark chocolate as well as slightly acidic limoncello (I love Italian liquor). Last time I was here, I came with a rather large group (lets say 12 people). We did not received that usual negative look from the purveyor of delicious frozen goodness. Instead we received, smiles, jokes, and plenty of free samples. I ended up choosing the large (which is more than enough, wait...), and I did share it. The flavors were peanut butter crunch (amazing), salted caramel (needs a little more fleur de sel), and mint chocolate chip (normal). All were above par. So why only 4 stars? Well, I wanted to give it 4.5 because it is not quite a five star. There are one a handful of ice cream/ gelato shops that i will give a 5 star. Gelateria la Romana in Rome and another small shop in Sicily that had the best Pistachio I have ever tasted. So yeah, for Albuquerque, Frost is a good as it gets.
