The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is due to my last experience there. This is my absolute favorite cupcake place definitely better than sprinkles. However, I called to order some cupcakes on 9/18/20 and was assisted by Brittany when I asked what flavors were available her response was all of our flavors are online. Mind you I always call and order my cupcakes and have always asked what selection of flavors they have at the moment since I know they run out fast at times. When I get there she was completely rude. She rolled her eyes when I kindly asked her if she can switch my cupcakes from the boxes. I've been scooping this place out for a while. Not like a stalker out side the store or something (well, only once because I was waiting for them to open! and it was only 930am). Red Velvet, Strawberry/Lemon (June's flavor), White/Nutella and Chocolate/Chocolate. I tried the first three and wow! Red Velvet wasn't extremely sweet like other places. The frosting was good, cake probably could have been more moist. Strawberry Lemon was DELICIOUS! Cake was moist and frosting was like heaven! Lastly, the White/Nutella... MY FAVE!!! EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS about it!! I'll let my bff judge the chocolate/chocolate--it's for him because it's the only one with sprinkles and honestly, I think he just wants the sprinkles--haha. The overall presentation was beautiful! The shop is small and cute. It's hidden, so lucky for me I had the time to walked up and down 2nd street 5 times before I saw this place. (I was actually looking for something else, but came across this shop instead :)) Lucky me! Each cupcake is $3.95, I believe? They also have Meat Cupcakes for doggies--I didn't buy any, but saw it and it looks cute--I don't intend on trying one, but next time I'll probably buy one for my boxer! They also have icecream cupcakes--definitely will have to try that one day when I can stick around the area. The girl who works there told me that I'd have to freeze it within 15 mins, so next time! This is a sweet place. The staff here was really nice, the surroundings were clean and friendly, and they even served my cupcakes on this metal platter. They also either have no limit on credit cards, or one so low I triggered it. I wasn't expecting a lot when I walked in. After going to enough cupcake places, you get used to all the effort they spend being sort of Sprinkles-esque, i.e. grooming the icing without paying attention to the taste of the cupcake. Frosted Cupcakery has a thin spread of the icing that keeps them from making the top as clean as places that pile it on a little more, but fortunately they don't taste like Sprinkles. The cupcakes are much better, and better than they look. The icing may be thinly layered -- probably a good thing for your guilt -- but tastes great. It's well crafted, as if they've spent some decent time on the flavors' recipes instead of just dumping a bunch of sugar into them. The cake was the real standout -- noticeably above average, sort of lightly-textured and not dried out. I could swear I even saw pockets of melted chocolate inside my chocolate caramel toffee, although I couldn't taste any differences between portions of the cake. These cupcakes are very good all around -- still no Charmed, but a big step up from the dry cake I'd had at Miss Priss, and a huge step up from some of the shops we've had to put up with in Ventura County and Orange County. read more

I don't know, I really wanted to like Frosted Cupcakery, but it was just okay. I had the strawberry lemonade (August flavor of the month). The lemon-flavored cake was too sweet for my taste. The strawberry cream cheese frosting was not as sweet, but it did have that artificial strawberry taste that I didn't even like when I was younger and I was supposed to. I guess I was expecting something a little more nuanced and with natural ingredients. Little chunks of real strawberries in there somewhere would not have been amiss. I also took a few bites from other cupcakes, like the chocolate / caramel buttercream toffee and orange / cream cheese. While I liked the chocolate one a bit better, overall they all had an overly sweetened grocery store boxed cupcake kind of taste going. read more

First of all this is my favorite cupcake place of all time!! If you haven't been here yet you are missing out! The cupcakes here are moist, fluffy and fresh!!! The icing is nice and cream cheesy! It is not overly too sweet. So you can enjoy every last bite! On a side note they also have ice cream cupcakes!!! and no you did not read that wrong. Yes they have ice cream cupcakes but you will have to check the menu they have on top of the cupcake bar to see the flavors. Best cupcake shop around!!! We got the chocolate caramel toffee - super delicious. It's like they rolled the cupcake in chopped heath bars. Soo much better than I was expecting. And, my hubby got a peanut butter. I'm not normally a fan of PB, but this was rolled in crushed butterfingers (which I LOVE!). Also got a salted caramel hi-top. That was probably my fave! I used Frosted Cupcakery for a small wedding in April. We served the Chocolate Caramel toffee, Carrot, Strawberry, and Lemon cupcakes. All our guest raved about the quality. Every cupcake moist and bursting with flavor. Our only complaint, is that they would not set-up for us. They have a condition, that if you don't order 6 dozen, they will not set-up. If I'm paying a set-up and delivery fee, does it really matter how many cupcakes I have ordered? Our venue would not take liability for the outside vendor and declined set-up as well. So, I had to have a close friend leave the ceremony early, and set out the cupcakes. Truly inconvenient. read more

Looked across from lucilles bbq and next to the childrens place on 2nd street in the city of Long beach. I read on a list of LA's best cupcake shops that Frosted was #1. Considering I live one city away, and coupled with my addiction to cake products, I had to try. My first visit I got a coffee cupcake. It was quite delicious in terms of flavor ratios, it was good all around. Delicate cake and creamy frosting that was not too overwhelming. There isn't a ton of flavor options, they are mostly pretty standard with a couple less ordinary ones, but I like the favor not too sweet and not too heavy. Only drawback is finding a parking space.
