We typically like a good pastrami sandwich from a drive thru joint like this place and theirs is a 7 on a scale of 1-10. Their burgers are really good, your typical thin patties, big messy and very tasty. Your bag of French fries is over flowing and seasoned with seasoning salt, yum. They have all your usual suspects like taco, burritos, mushrooms and fried zucchini. All the fountain drinks are great and they have root beer freezes, shakes and sundaes. So if you are wanting so great food and really friendly service. Don't miss this place. Also it is a combination mini-market drive thru restaurant so you can do a one stop shop. This is a great place for lunch or dinner. I had the #5, cheese burger with bacon along with a bunch of other orders. The food was very good and the burgers were large. They have a generous amount of fries which have a great seasoning salt. Their prices are very reasonable and the staff was friendly. I do recommend calling in the order ahead of time. This review is for take out/drive thru only and just for ice cream. The menu seems to boast a ton of other junk food type stuff. Vibe of the place - 2 Ice cream and Swirl - 4 We have always gone by here wondering how it was and what they had here. The only dairy I will eat is the odd ice cream treat so we wanted the drive to be worth it. The speaker system is hilarious and I felt bad for the staff. We could not hear a thing and it was all a scratchy-sound-mess. But later, the guy said he could hear us. They are working on getting a new system. I swear the speaker is 60 years old and I was not confident staff would get our orders right. There was one car in front of us and our wait took awhile. At the first window though, where the staff finally took our money, Mr Frosty handed us our treats there as opposed to the 2nd window. It was a bit less waiting time which was nice as the first car was still there, likely for hot food. The stucco on the building could use a face lift and the bars on the small square windows reminded me of the movie Shawshank. The important part is the ice cream though, right!? He got ice cream in a cup. Vanilla/chocolate mix. Creamy and smooth. I was craving a DQ Blizzard (WHY are there no DQs in this baking, hot town?) so, a Swirl fit the bill and it was also quite good (although on the soft side and fast-melting). Not as creamy as the ice cream cup itself as I got Reece's in it so it gave it a bit more of a grainy texture. It was worth the drive over and the prices were decent. Good food, not so great prices and customer service is always hit or miss. They have one guy at the window who has me repeat my order 5 times every single time I order through the drive thru. Went through the drive-thru recently because of the covid-19 stay at home order. Both times they couldn't really hear us, had us repeat our orders 20x no joke and still got one or more items wrong. Honestly I love Frosty King!!! I use to go to country boy all the time because I thought it was the best in rosedale for drive thru food, I was wrong! Seriously frosty King blows country boy out of the water all the way down to carrying crushed ice for the drinks! Frosty kings pastrami is one of the best in town hands down! This place is a nostalgic masterpiece. Their Taquitos are exactly how I remember them being from my childhood. Crispy and tasty with the classic thin guacamole sauce. The Pastrami sandwich was perfect; flavorful and packed with Pastrami. The sandwich bread was very fresh. The fries are crinkle cut and seasoned. I asked for a side of ranch and the young man up front happily brought me two sides of them. The ranch was thick and creamy. Yum! Fast, friendly service. I had a medium Dr. Pepper with crushed ice.... let me repeat, CRUSHED ICE. I'm happily entrenched in my childhood tastes by this point. This place used to be decent. Local, old school burgers and fries. Let's be honest, to be next door to Country Boy and survive, you'd have to be fairly good. At least, it USED to be good... Apparently, it's changed ownership very recently. AND IT SHOWS. The place was not as clean inside as it used to be, it smelled off. You couldn't smell any food cooking and for three people hopping around the "kitchen" frantically you should have been able to smell something food-related. We found out after we had ordered that the place had changed hands. That explained the sudden departure from cleanliness and smell of food cooking. The burgers were small and over cooked. Skimpy on the sauce - to say the least. I found the core from a head of lettuce on my burger. For the time it took to get our order - our food should have been screaming hot as there was no one else there... it was lukewarm at best. The real travesty was the fries. As the girl handed us our bags - the guy I assume is the new owner emphasized to her that they should only have MEDIUM fries in the bag. As if he was over working the portion control. Way to win over customers, dude. Turns out it was a good thing he was stingy with the fries. They tasted stale as if they had been reheated and dropped into our bag. The texture was off, most were soggy, and they were nearly cold. I don't think they'll be in business long. And, truth be told, they shouldn't have decided to jump into the business next to a much better burger joint - because they clearly don't know what they are doing. Avoid at all costs. Awesome customer service. I came here and ordered cheeseburger meal and made it a large. I said no veggies on. River and got home and burger was plain with no sauce no cheese and the fry was a small. so I called and talked to Manager and he pulled up my transaction and seen I was charged for making meal a large and added cheese. While most restaurants would tell me to take a hike this place made it right by replacing my order the next time I came in. We visited this Frosty King about 3 months ago, the food was great!!! We went today and ordered food for 5 people, they put all the burgers and fries in paper bags and then in a plastic bag, we all know hot food in a plastic bag will create moisture.... When we got home less than 10 min away everything was extremely soggy!!!! Even the paper bags had ripped apart. We ordered zucchini and got cheese sticks, we ordered Fruit punch to drink and got orange soda, pretty much we ate 3 bites and threw everything in the trash, $35 of food wasted.... Very disappointed!!!!! Please don't put hot food in plastic bags!!!!! And it might be beneficial to repeat the order so they get it right!!! Did they recently change owners? I always love stopping by here for their great food and usual prompt service. I stopped by yesterday and it took nearly 20 minutes for a simple order. I gave them my order (burrito and a fry), drove to the window and several minutes later the young lady repeated my order of 3 large drinks. Nope, that wasn't me! I gave my order again and she gives me the total, which was nearly $3 more than the posted price. Not sure what she charged me for but said she thought I wanted something else added on to my order. Nope again! Finally got the order and total correct. I get home which was a couple minutes away and the fries are cold. Bummer! They were open very early...to my surprise....so, I tried the breakfast burrito with ham, etc. It was HUGE and so delicious it ended up being my meal for the whole day! Another day I thought to try the bacon cheeseburger special.....again, so delicious! The bun was so fresh and the burger was huge, very tasty and cooked to perfection. The fries....omgee....I have to say were so much better than their neighbor. They were seasoned just right with seasoned salt and the bag was overflowing! The worst!! Never going back. Twice in a month they screwed up my order. My wife is a vegetarian. I ordered her a veggie burger. The first time I arrived home with a hamburger. Probably an accident. I let it go. The second time (I should have checked) I arrived home with a bun that had lettuce on it. That's it! I called and politely tried to explain the situation hoping I could return to get the veggie burger I paid for.
