Today, tried a newly renovated place for lunch (dim sum), let me tell you this, it was a real…read moredisappointment. When they provided with a table it was right next to an exterior door, with people going in and out. The was a cold draft, we even had to tell the hostess/manager, if they could provide a divider to divert the draft from hitting our table. We ordered 9 dim sum dishes, one be Roasted Pig Mixed Cold Jellyfish, which was $23.80. I had the idea that it would be a fair portion. When it came, I was shocked, it was only 6 pieces of Roasted Pig. When I spoke with the manager about the portion size, he commented "for that price it is fair". There was not apologies and walked away, nor was it written on the menu. If I had known it was only 6 pieces (size of your index and middle finger put together). I would not have ordered it. If you want to have Roasted Pig, you can get better deals else where. Also, ordered Marinated Chicken Feet for $13.98, when it came to table, it was also a disappointment, part of the chicken feet was dark in colour, not even sure if it was even edible or not. Another dim sum dish that I have order was the steamed chicken with fish maw. The chicken was okay, but there was only two small pieces of fish maw, (the size of each piece was 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch). The order 6 dim sum dishes that was order was mediocre, tasted better from other Dim Sum restaurant. When I received the bill for the meal it came out to be $119.50, they even had included the tip. They didn't even give me an option weather a tip was even worthy. I will definitely not be returning to this place. I definitely do not recommend anyone to come to this restaurant. I would consider blacklisting this restaurant. It's simply deceiving customers.

The individual New Century slow boiled soup is hardest to share but secure some empty bowls and you can divide the hefty portion. In the winter, there's a silkiness to the piping hot consommé that sooths a dry throat and has an umami essence infused with abalone, ginseng, and pork. There's plenty to choose from in the house signature combo platter including roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork, pork slices, and seaweed salad. Saving my stomach for the later dishes, I had a taste of the duck (a good start with crispy skin) and BBQ pork (satisfactory and well flavoured). With the generous portion of chicken in the combo platter, the slow cooked chicken with abalone broth seemed like overkill. I've never been a huge fan of this dish that's served cold since I prefer chicken hot. Still, I understand it's the jelly layer between the skin and meat that people enjoy. And to be fair, the chicken was tender, and New Century certainly didn't skimp on the ginger and scallion oil. For those who tend to fill-up before the "main dishes", the stars of the combo arrive mid-meal. The stir-fried Vancouver crabs with silver fish in HK style spicy sauce needs to be eaten at arrival as the crunchy coating is best straight from the fryer. And despite not looking spicy, the dish has a light heat that permeates in the background. Additionally, the crab was fresh and meaty, cooked well so it remained delicately flakey. The amount of sweet and sticky sauce used in the stir-fried lobsters with scallion in Maggie sauce was well balanced, lightly covering the crustaceans. Both lobsters were substantial; even after eating many pieces, we still had plenty of leftovers. This is a long review head to Gastro World for the rest.

Space is…read morenot huge and the interior looks like it's been renovated with seafood tanks lining two walls but the dishes on the tables look older. They have some good combo dinner specials starting at 148 and up. They come with one main item and then you can choose additional dishes from the list. We went with the one that came with a steamed green bass and we then we chose 4 additional dishes from the list. You can add a Peking Duck for an additional 19.99 if you spend a minimum of 49.90. The special is available all week including weekends and is only available for dine in and dinner. In general the dishes were well prepared. The duck was sliced well and the crepes were nice and thin. The remainder meat and bones were cut really well, usually you just get a mass of bones with bits of meat attached but our plate was well presented. Only real complaint was the rice. We ordered 2 bowls to share and it was dry and hard. They clearly did not add enough water for the cooking process. Service was decent with a plate change mid meal. Nothing outstanding but also not the worst.

Skyview offered a small, medium and large dim sum special at $5.80 if paying cash. Whereas the One Fusion did not. The food quality was pretty much the same. It's your average dim sum. Absolutely nothing spectacular. No special dishes to write home about. Nonetheless if looking for a bargain and relatively decent dim sum. Then a recommendation is in order. I will be back for a deal but will reserve my gourmet dim sum visits for other dim sum establishments.

Service after being seated was a bit slow but was to be expected given how busy they were. Place was packed. Food we ordered: Beef balls - ok. Not super flavourful but nice texture. Oddly enough we had to ask for the Worcestershire sauce. It wasn't served with the dish as normally expected. 3.5/5. Rice rolls with shrimp - the rice rolls were a bit too wet and mushy. Shrimp and veg filling were nice. 3.5/5. Rice rolls with cumin lamb - less common version of this. Sadly not much lamb, cost more for same portion size as other rice rolls, too much cumin and celery. And still too mushy. 2/5. Giant dumpling in soup - ok. Nothing bad, nothing amazing. Pretty standard. 3.5/5. Bbq pork with noodles in soup - the pork was excellent. We asked for a lean cut and it was lean but still very tender with a nice char. The noodles were slightly overdone. 4/5. Fried pigeon - a bit overcooked and dry. 3/5. In terms of value, the bbq pork with noodles was a giant portion and great lunch special deal at $15. Feeds 2 easily. Highly recommend. The dim sum dishes varied, typically just under $10 each. Pretty average pricing and mediocre quality. The pigeon was $20 but not done well. Tea was $2.50 per head which imo is too high for a place like this. The restaurant itself has the typical tacky decor with a rainbow of colours and lighting found in Chinese banquet restaurants of this vintage. It was clean and comfortable enough. A bit run down but fine. Plenty of free parking out front. Overall, solid average with an exceptionally good lunch time bbq pork noodle deal for value.

Three of us ordered 6 dishes, they all turned out to be delicious and innovative. We especially loved Steamed Matcha Crispy Shrimp Rice Roll, it is soft outside and crispy inside with yummy shrimp. One particular good thing about this place is that self-serve drinks and condiment, they even have free hot soy milk on the counter, what a bonus. The place is not big, but well decorated and looks elegant from inside. The service is definitely something can be improved. There is a particular waitress always look angry and blunt. Located in a strip mall at Bayview and Hwy 7 the menu is all dim sum in a more casual environment. You are pointed to a table and tea is brought to you with a paper menu and pencil where you mark off your choices. From here is where there are differences from a more traditional dim sum business. Tea and water refills and condiments are self serve at the counter and there is a good selection. Extra cups are available so in addition to the tea you can also refill on hot water, cold water and hot soya milk which was clearly a popular item. It's served in a thermos jug and 2 were put out and within 15 minutes, 1 was emptied out. Quality of dim sum is just okay, as is the flavour. They have clay pot rice and the portion is on the small side but some good options. In addition to dim sum there is also a small selection of fried noodle Prices and service are decent. Most dim sum are $5.50 each. A 10% tip is automatically added to the bill. They close at 4 during the week so this really is just a lunch/dim sum place. If you want dim sum but also want a quick lunch this might be the place to go.
