A fun place to bring the kids. They have a children's menu and that was helpful. Drinks came in a reusable plastic cup you can take With you. My daughter and I split chicken taco which came loaded with two soft shell tortillas smothered with a mango salsa, lettuce and the chicken meat. Included was 2 hush puppies and French fries. It was plenty to eat for both of us. My granddaughter had Mac n cheese, hush puppy and orange slice while my grandson had a cheeseburger also with a hush puppy and orange slice and French fries. We stopped here on our way to the airport after days of apprehension over it being a tourist trap with bad food and service. We were delighted to have great service from the hostess to our server Sierra and the bartender downstairs to the alligator handler. Surprised to say the food was excellent. My picky 19 year old daughter said the Mac and Cheese burger was the best burger she's her had. I have the blackened fish sandwich and it was great as well. What can I say about Fudpuckers? Quite a bit. If you are looking for a fun place to go eat with the kids then this may be the place, however, do not expect to be blown away by anything. I ended up getting the gator burger which was gator meat mixed with pork formed into a patty. This was a rather mediocre burger lacking quite a bit of the flavor one was craving. The service was excellent as we were seated right away and greeted right away. I will say that if you are planning the noon gator show that you will be cutting it close by getting here when they open at 11 am. The real attraction of this place is the free gator show and $5 gator feeding experience. Just as in the restaurant, don't expect much but fun for the smaller kids. The playground and bar upstairs would have been fun if there was not a heat warning the day we were there. This restaurant can be summed up in one word, "meh". Went during lunch time and were seated within 10 minutes. Service was great. The atmosphere was very friendly and inviting. Kids loved seeing the baby gators. Food was actually better than I thought it would be. The shrimp and grits were great. Daughter loved the double stacked chicken. The alcoholic cocktails need some work...taste is decent but I think I drank more melted ice than actual alcohol. Fudpucker's was an amazing experience to learn about alligators. They had educational signs throughout the entire exhibit. An alligator museum, that even featured live alligators. One included a rare white albino alligator, which was stunning but sadly placed alone. There was a huge gift shop that had everything under the sun to buy. There was even a pumpkin competition that you could vote for. It was really cute. I'm glad we stopped in, but honestly wasn't ok with people using the faux fishing poles without food attached to bother the alligators. I feel as if there should be more supervision, hence my three stars. The exterior decorating is most certainly eye catching though. read more

Please, do NOT come here. I use yelp almost every time I try to find food and I always find some amazing places. This time I didn't and it's the worst restaurant I've been to in over a year. On google it has good reviews but after checking the yelp reviews, it is just in fact a tourist trap. FOOD: The food was honestly barely edible. I ordered a blackened mahi mahi and it was so poorly cooked. It was extremely chewy and dry. For sides I got mac and cheese that was almost 1:1 Kraft mac and cheese, "chili" cheese fries which were just fries with black beans and lukewarm chunks of beef on top. Everyone else at the table either had extremely salty food, extremely over cooked food, or a combination of both. I regret not taking a picture to show how bad the food looked. Paid $240 for a table of five. Not worth the money. The waitress was nice, but the manager took no responsibility and it didn't look like he cared at all. I'm not one to fight for free food, but this was the one time out of all bad experiences I was expecting at least a slight discount, but the manager didn't even apologize about it. read more

This place is a TREAT! We first found this place 5 years ago when we first started making Destin our yearly trip. Immediately when you get there, it's this huge building with winding stairs and a few things you can do while you're waiting for your table. If you go during the sumer,expect over an hour to wait. But while you wait, you have an alligator exhibit where you can either watch them or feed them for $3, with a make shift pole to drop the meat to them. Right after you or your kiddo feed the alligators for $10, you can hold and get a picture with the alligators. They also have a HUGE arcade as well, attached to the restraunt. Beware the wizard of Oz coin game is addicting . Right above, the alligator deck is an outside bar and a stage where they have an entertainer, entertaining the kids by having them come on the stage and dance and sing, and my kids loved it!! This restaurant is an experience you have to do. The food is good and not too pricey, when you go inside the restaurant, if you look at the walls or even the tables and benches are covered in past visitors graffiti, which is allowed lol. Overall this place is great if you have kids. Now in peak season, be ready for a wait but its worth it cause there is so much to do while you wait. I will say this, I haven't been back since covid happened so some things might or might not be open. read more

We should have listened to our Uber driver. His direct quote was "Locals would never eat there." We arrived around 7:00 PM and were quoted a 60-70 min wait which we were fine with since there are things to see there. Small baby alligators and a few snakes. Well after waiting just over 2 hours we went to the check in desk to see what was going on. They told us we were number 2 on the wait list now. About 20 more minutes pass and we are called to our table. That was fiasco number 1. Once at our table our waiter came and took our drink orders and appetizer orders, at this point he seemed nice enough, but that was obviously a front. We ordered our dinners and the second wait began. It took 1 hour and 10 minutes for four burgers, and order of shrimp tacos and a fish sampler platter to arrive at our table. All four burgers had definitely been placed on the grill at 7:00pm when we arrived because they were now the size of a US Quarter, and as hard as hockey puck. When we questioned the waiter about our long wait for food he told us " I've been working in Destin as a waiter for 14 years and all restaurants are like this". Well we had been in Destin for about 14 hours and no other restaurants were like this. Just because you have been working as a waiter for 14 years doesn't mean you are good at it, or worked at good restaurants. Fudpuckers is a good spot to go if you just need to waste a little bit of time, it's nothing spectacular. There's an alligator exhibit and a restaurant. We tried to dine in at the restaurant but there was a ridiculously long wait time (2 hrs) for a table even though the restaurant seemed to be pretty empty. The food and atmosphere didn't look as if it were worth the 2 hour wait so we decided to just try and enjoy Gator Beach instead. Gator Beach is attached to Fudpuckers and features live gators on display. For a fee you have the option to take photos with the gators and feed them as well. They hold an alligator show at specific times during the day which kids may enjoy. While there, I couldn't help but notice how dirty and grimey the entire place felt which took away from the experience. Dirty to the point where I was scared to touch anything. The moments I did touch something, like the handrails while walking down the stairs, it felt sticky. Fudpuckers and Gator Beach are definitely a one time, quick in and out, just a check off the "things to do list" type of place. I won't be back. read more
