The hour wait was not an issue, we went at a busy time. The food was mediocre at best. Appetizer was cold as was every bit of our food minus one piece of fried fish on my plate. Around our table, the dishes were consistently lukewarm to cold. Another note: the alligator show is about ten minutes long and mostly consists of a handful of "fact or fiction" style questions. We had a party of two at about 5:00pm on a Wednesday and it took about 30 minutes or so (after being told 1hr). I remember this place being so fun from coming here for my first time as a kid in 2011. It's certainly changed a little bit and is honestly the busiest restaurant i've ever seen. The food is overrated I will say. We got gator to start (delicious), and then wanted to split the coconut shrimp because that our favorite coast dish but there was buzz around the shrimp/chicken tenders. So we did that and added a side of coconut shrimp. The chicken and popcorn shrimp were basic. nothing good about them, either fried in burnt oil or the food itself was a little burnt. honest waste of money there. But the Alligator and coconut shrimp went bananas. So delicious. Alligators outside were fun and service was fast and very good. After reading other reviews, I must add this place is definitely meant to be part entertainment along with being a restaurant. If you want a gastropub restaurant experience then this isn't the place. If you're ok with a restaurant that's part silly, a little eccentric, a long time Destin establishment and a mini gator zoo- then this is the place. Perfect for families and anyone who wants a little silliness. The food is typical bar type and tourist seafood type food. I had the coconut shrimp and thought it very good.
