Tried the restaurant for the first time for a work lunch. Everything was delicious. I really liked the ramen birria w/cheese.

Wanted to eat something that was quick and in our hometown checked on TikTok, found this place culture and ambiance everywhere from the different flags to variety of food. Service was excellent from start to finish.

My BF brought home some goodies from Fuego's after playing golf and I ain't mad about it. He ordered their asada, fish, and shrimp taco especial. OMG! Each were delicious!! So much flavor. He even bought their fresh chicharron and we used it to scoop up the left over meat that had fallen off our tacos and it was FIRE! We finished the meal with their churro bites! It was better than a lot of other places. I seriously can't wait to try more of their items. Definitely put them on your list of places to eat next!

I finally decided to try this restaurant after seeing the reviews. The restaurant is small but, clean and the cashier was really friendly. I ordered the Birria plate which comes with beans, rice, 3 corn tortillas, onion and cilantro plus the consome. My son ordered 2 Birria tacos with a side of consome. The beef was tender and had great flavor. The portion is also generous and the beans and rice were also delicious. Their Agua frescas were perfect and refreshing. I absolutely recommend you check them out.

SURF & TURF FRIES - good flavors

Food was decent. We ordered the surf and turf burrito and the surf and turf fries. The burrito lacked flavor. No fuss place. Small and quaint. Cashier was friendly. It's not a five star place for me. It's a normal local taco spot with decent pricing. I will not return.

Tucked away behind a modest storefront, this family-run gem pulses with life--bold red and black interiors, laughter rising above the hum of the kitchen, and the kind of service that feels more like a welcome home than a transaction. By the way, this place is located in a large plaza shopping center. Rene, the charismatic staff member who greeted me, guided me toward the Surf and Turf Fries--"one of our most popular dishes," he promised. I took the bait, and I'm glad I did. What arrived was a feast of contrasts and comfort: perfectly crisp fries buried beneath tender, char-grilled asada and crowned with plump, garlic-kissed shrimp. A verdant drizzle of creamy green salsa and a generous layer of melted cheese tied it all together into a bold, unapologetic bite of coastal street food indulgence. To wash it down? A large cup of Jamaica, refreshingly tart and vibrant, cutting through the richness like a breeze on a summer day. This is the kind of place you come back to--not just for the food, but for the soul it serves. Next visit, I have my sights set on the birria. If the fries are any indication, I'm in for something special.

Have been coming here for 1-2 years and usually always get the fuego fries with birria & a birria burrito ! Wasn't able to write a review yet because every time we go we pig out because it's so good! Fuego fries come with cheese and jalepeños, and your side of meat. 10/10 hits the spot for something snackish but also fills you up!

3 stars because the food was.... :( . but they have the best cashier / hostess = Milady :D she was super great and nice and patient! Thank you!!! I feel bad abt writing this because Milady was suuuupeer great but unfortunately I usually write about the food so I can rememeber the places we'll go back to or not.. so here it is... We ordered: 1. Street taco plate (pick 3 meats) which consists of: A. Rice = undercooked and overcooked at the same time. Some were hard and some were super soft... tasted good but cook was inconsistent B. Beans = hubby liked it. Balanced taste and cooked well C. Chips = crunchy and fresh. Seasoned inconsistently but still good D. Chicken tacos = i liked it. Nothing extraordinary. Seasoned okay with hint of lemon, cooked evenly throughout. E. Al pastor = cooked evenly but lacked the usual pineapple taste / sweet taste. Decent. F. Asada = bland and tough. You'll see in the pic how it's pale looking.. 2. Shrimp tacos = hubby didn't like it.. I liked it coz it was salty and the sauce made it a bit sweet then fresh coz of cabbage. It was decent. 3. Birria in tostada = hubby was disappointed coz he said that birria is usually a bit red/orange and never bland.. the birria was pale and bland like boiled meat... I've read a bunch of reviews abt how great this place is, so hopefully today was just an off day.. but again, thank you Milady, ure so awesome!

    Quesabirria tacos

I was looking for a place to meet up with my friend that was visiting her brother in Covina and saw that Fuego was pretty close to her. First thing that caught my eye when I walked in was the aguas frescas. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. I ordered quesa birria tacos, my daughter ordered birria ramen and my friend ordered a mulita de birria. The birria was so good, it had so much flavor. I got an agua de horchata and the size of the mason jar was pretty big. The guy at the counter was super friendly and kept asking if we were doing ok. The place has a few tables and they had the tv on playing a movie. I will be back to try the rest of the food on the menu. Hidden gem for sure.

I just found this place and I'm glad I did. The quesabirria tacos at Fuego Cravings Covina were really good -- crispy on the outside, cheesy, and packed with flavorful meat. They tasted fresh, had a great balance of texture and flavor, and the salsa on the side added a perfect kick. Definitely a solid spot worth coming back to if you're craving good quesabirria tacos

    Breakfast burrito
    Andrew G.

The breakfast burrito is worth every penny. This is the part where I talk about the ingredients and stuff to fill up the 85 characters they're requiring, but all you need to know as it is a bomb ass breakfast burrito.

Fuego!!! I love the surf and turf tacos. I also tried the quesabirria, birria taco, fish taco, surf and turf burrito, and Covina burrito. They were alright. My whole party agreed that the surf and turf tacos are the best. We are honestly not really birria fans but it seems that a lot of people like it and it's clearly popular here. Service was great. I got a few cups of water and borrowed a bottle of salsa. The place is nice and clean. The complex is not busy and the restaurant was not crowded, although I came around 8:00 PM on a Thursday and around 2:00 PM on a Friday so that may be different on a Friday or Saturday around 7 PM. My critiques would be: the "sour cream sauce" and "guacamole sauce" are a bit watery, and the Covina burrito had too much rice and beans. But the surf and turf tacos make up for that. I'd come back just for the surf and turf tacos. The prices and portions are good for me, especially compared to where I'm from - the San Francisco bay area.

Surf and Turf Fries: These fries were supposed to be "seasoned." Looks nothing like the photos.

Just over priced wanna be mexican food. The place wasn't packed, but there were a few booths open and tables. I requested a booth, but those were reserved. Hmm, why?? Anyways, my guy and I waited to order a beer, nothing exciting but the waitress finally came. She took our drink order, sometime passed when she returned to tell us the bar was backed up. Really? One bartender on a Friday night? She finally brought the beers but no chips and salsa. Like I said wasn't busy. Then she took our food order.. Here is how it went. I ordered the (4) taquitos ala cart. My guy ordered the combo hard taco with enchilada. The chips came but they were stale, salsa was good, but I was hungry so I sacrificed. My taquitos came out with a small spoonful of guac and strands of lettuce on the side, so they were dry. I bit into one and that had no fresh crunch, like they were already made and just reheated. My guys combo.. The enchilada was drenched in red sauce, no flavor he said and the taco was hard and stale too. He ordered just beans because the rice look like red sauce on rice, uggh! Needless to say, we won't be going back. Over rated for a so called "Mexican Cuisine" restaurant.. Oh, the waitress had a few tables, but didn't come to check in us, I had to ask for water, what a shame!! Did NOT order another drink, check please!!

Service makes me hesitant to return…read more Interior was nice, old-school restaurant vibes, but didn't look completely dated or anything like some places. We got served some good old fashioned chips and salsa, always a favorite. I think I saw a piece of mango floating in it but I could be wrong, as it did not taste sweet. Tasted quite peppery so maybe it was a bell pepper. I have no idea. Salsa did have a different taste than the usual onion, garlic, tomato, cilantro so I'm unsure what they do here. Chips were fine, not hot and fresh but had a nice crunch to them. Most Mexican restaurants I've been to have this similar combination option and I saw their menu had a combo with three items: one enchilada, one chile relleno and one crunchy taco. I thought, awesome, I get to try one of each and see how I like 'em. I normally get a taquito with my meal so I asked the waiter if it was ok to order this combo with a taquito or flauta in place of the crunchy taco. He said no. Not, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience but we don't allow substitutions, thank you for understanding, etc." Just, no. Ok...? Never been to a place that cared much about me subbing a taco for a taquito, unless the plates are preassembled with a crunchy taco, which doesn't make any sense. Thought that was a little off-putting but onward... We ordered the potato taquito appetizer that was listed on their menu. Plate arrives and it's huge - which made sense since it cost $18 - but they were all visibly beef taquitos. I happened to be dining with my vegetarian friend, hence the ordering of potato taquitos, so we kindly informed the waiter that we ordered potato and these were all beef taquitos. Waiter confusingly indicated that these were potato taquitos and we kind of glanced at each other like... uhhh, there's clearly shredded beef in there sticking out, so we pointed it out. Waiter looks again, points to one specific taquito on the plate and says, "Well, that one is potato." The waiter eventually clarified that the taquitos were actually beef with potato. I politely informed him that since my friend is vegetarian and the menu didn't specify beef in the taquitos, we couldn't accept or eat the dish. The waiter was pushy about it and suggested we just take them home and eat the leftovers. Dude no. I ordered potato taquitos and we're only two people, and this was a massive plate of around 15 taquitos. I don't have an air fryer or oven at home, either, so I really have no proper way of reheating and I'm just one person. Either way, none of this was something I felt was worth arguing over. Just take the friggin taquitos back. We sat there uncomfortably for a bit and waited for our main meals to arrive. Got my combo, and it was honestly pretty good. Flavors were fresh and vibrant, even the taco was good although I was bitter it was a half-moon fried piece of tortilla with beef instead of a rolled fried piece of tortilla with beef. :( It's a joke, chill. We finished and the waiter brought out the bill. We quickly left our cards for payment and in clear view for the waiter to pick up so we could leave and digest by walking at the mall or something, but he never came. He walked by a few times, cards were sticking out... still nothing. After 30 minutes, my friend says she thinks we have to pay at the front. Would've been nice to know about 30 minutes ago. Paid at the front, left, and I won't be coming back. Food was actually pretty good but it unfortunately did not outweigh the lack of service and overall experience of eating here. Parking was good, at least.

Jorge came outside multiple times, clearly saw how many people were waiting, and even recorded the crowd on his phone three different times for social media. Knowing the capacity of the restaurant, he could have easily informed everyone that the remaining people in line would likely not get in. Instead, we waited over three hours with no communication. While we were waiting, I repeatedly watched people call Jorge. He would come outside, greet them, and bring them straight inside. I personally saw this happen at least six different times. When it was finally our turn to speak with the host, we were told there were no seats left, that we would have to stand, and that we wouldn't even be able to order food. I confronted Jorge about letting those other groups in ahead of everyone else. His response was that he knew them personally and that they were friends of the restaurant owners. That explanation only made the situation worse. My wife had just finished a 14-hour hospital shift, and we came here hoping to enjoy the game together. Instead, we spent three hours waiting only to be treated as though our time didn't matter. What was most shocking was Jorge's attitude. He literally told me, "They won't do anything to me if you post this. I'm friends with the owner." If that's the mindset of management, it's no surprise customers are treated this way. It truly felt like only friends and family received special treatment while everyone else was left waiting without honesty or respect. I have no issue waiting when things are busy, but I do expect transparency, fairness, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience showed none of those qualities.

It's enduring and hilarious at the same time. The food is amazing and savory down to the chips and salsa. They have special fresh strawberries if you order a strawberry cocktail. I also don't appreciate the poor attitude that two of the bartenders have been displaying lately. They have favorites and it shows a lot. I understand that when it's time to close it's time to close and go. But if you're serving other people and treating those same people nicer because they're your favorites, well that's not cool. In the end we're all patrons. We all support when consuming. But above all, it's the poor attitude that I will never pay for. I used to like coming here often. I probably will never again. I also know that occasionally in the bar they overcharge for cocktails thinking customers will not notice because they've been drinking and bartenders refuse to adjust the check. This is terrible and now you know.
