Wow their food is amazing! I've come a couple times on my break and they're always quick enough I can sit down and eat. The food is always top quality and so fresh, the staff are so nice! What a gem! Delicious and creative brunch fare in a charming location in the Market Square courtyard. Very friendly to celiac and other gluten sensitivity diners with a separate menu available that has ...pretty much everything on the regular menu except items that come in a flour tortilla. Can't comment on the food, as I did not stay. I arrived and waited for about 5 minutes before another couple arrived. Though several staff walked past me no one gave eye contact, welcomed us or advise that they would be right back. After waiting a while longer, a staff person finally came up. I advised I would like a table. She then turned to the couple behind me. Though a few close tables were vacant, she took the couple right to a table and when she came back to me, she advised I would have to wait while a table was cleared. Having arrived well before the couple and trying repeatedly to get someone's attention I have to say I was offended by being overlooked. With so many incredible places in Victoria for brunch, it seems a new-ish place needs to keep a closer eye on the front of the house. Won't go back. read more

My wife & I did breakfast/brunch here. We ordered a coffee & tea to drink then shared the Taco Sliders (pork, cheese/veggie, chicken and chorizo) and the Egg Chilaquiles Skillet. The sliders were yummy & priced appropriately, the Chilaquiles were just okay. After having Chilaquiles in San Antonio TX, these didn't quite have the authenticity we were expecting. Second time visiting here, but this time I just ordered for a snack to go rather than dining in. The churros and chocolate sauce here are out of this world! We waited about 4 minutes for them as they are made fresh and come out piping hot! 4 churros and chocolate sauce for ~$5.50. The outside of the churro has a light crisp to it and coated in a layer of sugar. The inside is UNBELIEVABLY moist, soft dough. WOW, honestly the most satisfying dessert I've had in a long time! Great with or without the accompanying melted milk chocolate, but I really did enjoy indulging in the churro WITH the chocolate. AMAZING! A must buy!!! read more

This restaurant I found via Yelp, and it was a 10 minute walk from our hotel in Victoria (Delta). The service was hands down THE BEST service I've ever encountered and at restaurant I've ever been to. Everyone was so friendly! I ordered the mocha iced coffee, and only wished it had been bigger. I also ordered the Chilaquiles with my eggs over easy. When my little skillet came out I thought it was a small serving, but it was so filling and packed with flavor. More of Chilaquiles deconstructed. It was very good!!! My dad had the egg chorizo burrito and really enjoyed it. I also added a pancake, it was like butter! It melted and was so savory and sweet. I wish I had a bigger stomach!! Highly, highly recommend eating here! We got here about 9am and there was still seating, about 45 minutes later there was a little bit of a wait, but very worth it! read more

This place is a gem in downtown Victoria, tucked in beside Cafe Mexico, and not your typical breakfast spot. The service is great, the food is fresh, delicious, and adds a great Mexican twist to your breakfast faves. I had a veggie benny, my hubby had a benny and the cakes, both were amazing. Though the plastic palm trees make it look cheesy-touristy, the lineup for the other brunch place was unreasonable, so we ended up here. Who knew our second choice would yield first rate food? The veggie omelette was arguably the best Mexican breakfast I've had. Two kinds of roasted peppers and mushrooms add heaps of flavour, and if you love heat, their house made habanero sauce is not to be missed. The owner was as attentive as our server and explained the origin of the place's name, Fuego, which means "fire": after Cafe Mex next door was destroyed by a kitchen fire, the place sat empty for two years before they decided to rebuild. Truely amazingly delicious. I had the veggie benny - an wonderful mix of flavors. I loved the cornbread base and the lime hollandaise. I couldn't get enough. My wife had the veggie omelet. She said it's the best egg dish she's ever eaten, plus the refried beans were the best she's ever had. We came here because the line at the blue fox was too long. I'm very thankful for that as we would otherwise have missed one of our favorite breakfasts ever. I'll dream of Fuego until our next return to Victoria. read more

I've walked past this place a lot and never actualy gone in before. I tried it out for breakfast upon reading the good reviews from others, but unfortunately I was very disappointed. Paid $20+ including tip and left hungry. I had asked the bacon to be done soft, no, it arrived flat, rock hard and crispy, almost as if it was cooked the day prior and then re-heated. The corn-bread was stale and crumbly, the pico was okay as were the eggs. The potatoes were cold and undercooked. I'm not a picky eater but this was a disaster. I left 3/4 of it on the plate, when the waitress asked if it was good, I politely explained why it wasn't. Still charged me full price for everything. Will not be returning here. read more

Cool digs, they have a great environment and friendly service. I am visiting from Seattle and ordered the chorizo breakfast wrap and it was rather underwhelmed. The chorizo didn't have that chorizo bite I was expecting and it's apparently one of the best things on the menu. The only thing that wasn't that great about the benny was that it was served on cornbread which tended to crumble. The side of pancakes is a nice size. The service was phenomenal. If the tortillas on the huevos were toasted or crisped and warm, they were soggy instead, the potatoes could be a bit crispier, and if the corn bread on the Benny was served warm as well you would have something amazing!!! Waited 30-40 mins for our food, watched multiple people seated after us get their food, eat and get a cheque. We werent checked on and when we noted it had been really long to get two pancakes they didnt seem to care. After that the pancakes were inedible, they were already soaked and in a bed of syrup. Went to Mole first which was lined up out the wazoo as usual. Decided we were too hungry to wait almost an hour for breakfast. So, walked a bit and stumbled on Fuego. And we are SO glad we did! The food was amazing. Great portions, wonderful choices and so well done and presented. This will be our new go to place for brunch. The service was great and attentive, the decor was welcoming and spacious, with high ceilings and exposed brick. And, even the bathroom was clean and well appointed. read more
