Been here soooo many times and it's always so good. As a mom with two young kiddos the drive thru saves the day again and again. I love their fuego bowl especially, so yummy and such a great price for such a generous portion. They have the best fish taco I have had in all of SA! Service is always fairly fast and friendly. Occasionally things have been forgotten but they are always very apologetic and quick to correct the mistake.

First time here, the food is fresh, I had the Mexican Cobb salad, it had beef, chicken, corn, cheese, tomato, lettuce...

I was so excited to see that we had a Fuegos here in San Antonio as I have visited the one in San Marcos These aren't your average tacos, these are meals in a tortilla so bring your appetite! They stuff delicious homemade tortillas with unique combinations like Southern comfort food. One taco is enough to fill me up but I always have to add their chips and queso because their queso is soooo good! The restaurant is new and clean with a fun vibe and servers that are helpful with recommendations for newcomers. You have to try Fuegos for their generous portions and creative combinations for their not your average tacos.

To be honest, tho I've been several times, every visit leaves me with the realization that my memory of this place is better than the actual experience. Not that this place is bad by any means, no not at all. It is just that is place is okay. Breakfast tacos are amongst my top foods of all times and my go to any chance they are available, which lucky for me, is 24/6 at Fuego. Are the tacos stand out? Eh, no not really. But they are serviceable. I typically will opt for potato, egg, and cheese tacos. Now what I will say is they are usually pretty sizable, which is great if you're eating on a budget (or picking up food after a night out drinking). I prefer their tacos to go rather than dining in as it gives the cheese time to melt and get all gooey. Their chips and queso are pretty dang good, I must admit. But a heads-up for their guacamole: it is loaded with cilantro. For some of you, you're stoked! For those out there like me who dislike cilantro, be forewarned as it was not a win. Service has always been fine-never anything that just blows me away but never any issues or problems to report and that includes ordering via the drive thru or dining in. Overall Fuego delivers big, fresh, hot tacos but the flavors seem to be lacking. In a town full of legit and incredible breakfast tacos this is unacceptable, but given they're open 24hrs a day 6 days a week, Fuego knows what it has and who it caters to and if that is you, enjoy! As for me, I'll most likely look elsewhere to fulfill my taco needs.

My cousins told me about this place when they were at A&M good to see them, expanding into some other towns. This time around I was able to indulge in all their breakfast tacos. I love their fresh salsa, and the variety of tacos is outstanding definitely one of my favorites in Texas.

this was a great spot for late night tacos! the freshness is really present. me and my boyfriend got some of the speciality tacos, I can't remember what they were called but everything looks great on the menu! The mac and cheese was so good! Great causal spot. Service was great too.

Extremely pleasantly surprised at FTG-SA! It's a little hard to spot but it's across UTSA boulevard from the Costco. Prices seem a bit high but the tacos are on the larger side, so it balances out. The service is friendly, and apparently this place runs 24x7 so you're sure to run into hungry college students at the odd hour. Their 'Rock Star' and 'Good Golly Miss Molly' are superb steak-based entrees, and their toppings like Roasted Poblano cheese are both delish and have some heat. Some of the offerings go a little overboard on the sauce and end up drippy, so order accordingly. Definite recommend if you're in the area. This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

Amazing breakfast tacos on fresh tortillas!

GAME CHANGER! When…read moreI visit San Antonio Plantaqueria is an absolute must. I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Plantaqueria has revolutionized modern, classical Mexican street cuisine. It's open 7am-7pm so you can literally have this all day and you might wish you did. Y'all need to get you some, and don't thank me, thank the purveyors of this Alamo City gem. P.s. I've brought my mom in to eat this stuff and she totally agrees!

(It had Just Egg but I think other things added with it. It felt that it was softer and lighter than if it was only Just Egg) and pico de gallo on handmade flour tortilla. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

That's exactly the energy at Los Weyes de la Asada. From the second you walk up, it feels alive. Not in a forced way, more like you've been there before, even if it's your first time. The kind of place where your stress, your diet, even your cruda takes a backseat. Now the food. No overthinking needed here. Everything coming out of that truck is a straight up pow pow of flavor. The carne is cooked just right, juicy with that perfect char, and the corn tortillas are legit, soft but with enough structure to hold everything together. I ordered the Mamón and the Chingón, and honestly, both lived up to the names. No misses. And the agua fresca de fresa? That sealed it. They serve it in a little bolsita, which somehow makes it hit even better. Simple, nostalgic, and just cool. It's all tucked inside El Camino, which adds to the whole vibe, string lights, people hanging out, that easygoing outdoor feel where you lose track of time a little.

The smell alone made me think we were in for something special. We grabbed a couple of cocktails and ordered tacos, which seemed like the obvious choice. The tacos were good, but that's about where I'd leave it. They weren't bad at all, but they also weren't particularly memorable. With the aroma coming from the grill and all the recommendations I'd heard, I was expecting a little more flavor and a bigger wow factor. The atmosphere was fun, the service was good, and the charcoal grill definitely adds to the experience. I just found the food itself to be more "solid" than "spectacular." I'd rate it about a 7 out of 10. Worth trying if you're already at El Camino, but not a place I'd go out of my way for.

As a fellow citizen of H-town, we have a vibrant taco scene and I would put this place up there with some of my favorite spots I frequented in HOU. Each time I've been here, I've ordered between 8-9 tacos as they are each $2.50. I've gotten a combination of pastor, barbacoa, lengua, bistec, and cabeza. I can't really select a favorite cause they're all so delicious with the meats tender and juicy with a heaping sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Make sure you squeeze the lime on it and mix it with the radish/cucumber garnish they'll throw in there. And don't forget to throw on that green/red salsa they provide. Either eat there or get it to go (which is what I did). Fortunately the tacos travel well as they were still hot when I posted up at my hotel to grub. Don't be discouraged of the long line if you see one as it moves quick. You walk up and place your order, then pay afterwards. It's somewhat of an honor system but there is security present when I went there so that eased my concerns. For drinks, it's either soft drinks, water, or mineral water. No alcohol is served here so if you want margaritas/micheladas/beer, you'll have to go elsewhere for that. No doubt I'm returning next time I'm in SA. Viva Taquitos West SIDE!
