Fuji is a great spot in Needham. There hibachi is delicious and always fun for an event or special occasion since they can seat so many people. You can also sit in a normal table and just order off the menu. The employees are really nice and helpful. Also takeout is super efficient and reliable here. The sushi is good and consistent.

Don't come if you're hungry. Sat down for hibachi almost 45 min ago and still waiting. They' are short of hibachi chefs. A lot of unhappy patrons here. Here's some advice to Fuji..don't have so many tables and make people wait for food that literally takes a few minutes to make. Don't be greedy if you want people to come back. RIDICULOUS.

This restaurant is amazing! The food is so delicious, the service is super fast, and is casual. We went to the hibachi lunch and the chef is so talented. I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for yummy food and fast service.

Came for an event, and Fuji exceeded my expectations. Very spacious and open interior with about 5 hibachi tables that could fit a good amount of people each. The prices are much lower than all the teppanyaki restaurants I've been to, so worth it!! The portions are very generous and food is delicious. The drinks are also super affordable. My date and i shared a sake bomb for only $20. It was enough for 3-4 sake bombs each! I got the steak and chicken combo. It came with a salad, fried rice, and veggies. The chicken was a bit too salty, but the steak was perfect. I also really enjoyed the fried rice and veggies. They gave A LOT. I don't think i even finished half, but the food was delicious. Our hibachi chef was sooo fun and lively. He did a great job interacting with all of us and had us laughing the whole time. Such a fantastic experience, would highly recommend this place!!

$21.95 for a teppanyaki style dinner (steak & scallop) and a show, which I guess is okay. Someone at the table should order the fried rice for an extra $1.95 (vs white) so the chef will do a bit of a show when he cracks the egg for the fried rice. Just about every table had a child or three... they love the onion volcano! In addition to the previously mentioned steak and scallops and fried rice, my dinner arrived with an oniony broth with thin slices of mushrooms and scallions, a really fresh and tasty simple salad, three decently sized shrimp, a mix of veggies, and a serving of bean sprouts. The portion was okay, but I, who usually has leftovers, was able to completely decimate my plate. If it is your birthday, it looks like they bring over a fried ice cream and sing to you. So it is a nice choice for kids and birthdays. They also have a fish pond, and two private rooms for non-teppanyaki diners. Bathroom is a touch small - only two stalls in the ladies' room, and the menu online needs some updating. *** 12/2011 *** They have a few parking spots in the back, but it was filled when we got there. No worries, we were easily able to snag a metered spot out front. While waiting to be seated, I watched their large flat screen with the interesting facts running across the bottom of the screen. Once seated, our party of 7 was oddly provided with 3 menus, which made picking out our dishes an unnecessarily longer process. Also, the warm wet napkins were nice, but I would have preferred receiving them AFTER I ordered, so I wouldn't have to continue touching the menus with my temporarily cleaned hands. I went with the seaweed salad $6.95 and the House Udon $17.95 (Served with Miso Soup, Stir fried shrimp, scallop, fish, clam, fish cake, bean curd and vegetable.). I found the salad rather too seasoned - I wasn't sure if it was too salty or too spicy... and would avoid this in the future. But it was cutely served in a martini glass. The House Udon was a good portion - I even took some home! It was of course mostly udon noodles but the seafood portion was pretty decent, with (for example) 3 deshelled shrimp tossed in amongst the other good stuff. The miso soup that came with my entree was okay. But while I was watching the cooking show before me, a waitress swept my half full bowl away before I could stop her. As for the show, don't lean in too close - when the initial flame goes up, it gets pretty warm/hot. *** 12/2012 *** I went with the Filet Mignon & scallop teppanyaki style dinner, which came with miso soup, salad, 3 shrimp, the requested protein, veggies, and bean sprouts. It was okay, but I think next time I'll pick an entree from another part of the menu. My sister's katsu plate looked rather generous; maybe I'll try one of those.

Wait time on a Friday: Pretty long. Whatever they tell you (i.e. 15 mins) add 40 mins to it. They have a koi pond hidden in the inside which I didn't know about. Reason? Very nice servers but inefficient: they make the servers do stuff like opening your warm towel packet and offering it to you. Kind of awkward especially since it's the disposable types. Food: I expected the food to be hot and loaded with soy sauce. I got that. Performance: My chef was obviously a newbie but I was okay with that cause at least he tried hard to be good at it- and singed his hand in the process. Management: They try to do too much stuff by themselves like answer phones and write down take out orders when they should be at the host stand seating people- very annoying when there are a load of waiting ppl, clean places, but no one to seat us.

Great sushi but a little pricey for take-out. I might treat myself every once in a while.

We walked into a spacious, contemporary space with a large bar and plenty of seating, the kind of place that works equally well for watching a game with friends or a relaxed dinner. The interior had a comfortable, polished energy that struck a balance between lively and approachable, and the extensive beer and whiskey selection added to the inviting atmosphere. The menu goes beyond typical bar food with a mix of elevated comfort dishes, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, and seasonal entrées. We ordered a few items and found the Chilean sea bass standing out, paired with a flavorful sauce that complemented the fish without overpowering it. The lamb with gnocchi was another popular choice, offering a hearty and well-balanced dish with tender meat and pillowy gnocchi that absorbed the rich sauce. The burgers were cooked to order and made a reliable option for something more casual, arriving juicy and well assembled. For drinks and appetizers, the calamari, burrata, and flatbreads were good options to share, each coming out fresh and well seasoned. The bar program was another highlight, with a wide selection of craft beers, whiskey, and classic cocktails that were well prepared and paired naturally with the food. Service was friendly and welcoming, with staff happy to make recommendations and accommodate different group sizes. While some visits could experience slower service during busy periods, the overall experience tended to be attentive, and the team worked to create a comfortable atmosphere for both families and larger groups. The pacing of the meal stayed steady, and the food came out without much delay. Parking is available in a small lot, though it could fill up during peak dining hours, and the restaurant's location near shopping on Needham Street made it a convenient stop before or after running errands. Overall, District 118 Kitchen & Bar is a solid choice for anyone looking for elevated pub fare in a relaxed setting. The combination of quality food, a strong drink selection, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it equally enjoyable for a casual lunch, dinner with family, or an evening out with friends.

We were 6 people, bill was around 380..with the tax, tip & recommended 4% for the kitchen staff, another 80 in fees, which kills me after traveling through Europe fairly often. So 440 total. Way to much for one drink each for 5 of us, no drink for the 6th, no bottle of wine, split 1 app 7 olives, no coffee, 2 desserts. Way too pricey. When did 34-38 dollar entrees become the norm ? I would never return for one reason..that 4% tip for the kitchen. Pay your back of the house staff from those $$$$ entrees. Perhaps another idea is to take a % off each $15+ cocktail and pay their kitchen staff with it. I have not seen this done in years..absolutely no where. During the height of Covid, yes. But it faded away rather quickly and left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Also, I'd recommend lighter plates, those poor ladies hauling in those large & heavy dishes is not a good look.

The wood interior, historic décor, and cozy atmosphere gave it the feel of a longtime local favorite without feeling outdated. The dining room had a comfortable, lived-in energy with a layout that accommodated both small groups and larger parties, and the warm lighting and traditional furnishings made it easy to settle in for a casual dinner or drinks with friends. It was the kind of place where the relaxed setting encouraged lingering over a meal rather than rushing through it. The menu focuses on elevated pub classics with several house specialties that are worth ordering. We started with the eggplant fries, one of the signature appetizers, and found them having a light, crispy coating that made them surprisingly addictive. The steak tips were another standout, cooked tender and packed with flavor, and the steak frites were a great choice if you are looking for something more substantial. There were also plenty of comfort food options throughout the menu, including seafood cakes, meatloaf, and seasonal specials that gave us a reason to come back and try something different. The food arrived hot and well assembled, and the portions were generous without being excessive. The service was one of the highlights of our visit. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant had the kind of hospitality that made us feel like regulars even on a first visit. The atmosphere stayed comfortable throughout the meal, making it just as suitable for a family dinner as it is for a casual night out. There is a small parking lot along with some nearby street parking, though it could fill up quickly during busy dinner hours. The staff moved through the room with ease, checking in at the right moments and keeping the pacing of the meal steady without making us feel rushed. Overall, Dunn-Gaherin's Food and Spirits is the kind of neighborhood restaurant that consistently delivers a comfortable atmosphere, friendly service, and well-executed pub food. The combination of classic Irish pub charm and quality comfort dishes makes it an easy place to return to, whether we were stopping in for one of their signature appetizers or a full dinner.
