This is my new Applebees. I try to so hard to like Applebees, but then after a while I just stop going there. Tonight was my anniversary, very excited to go out and have a great night. When we got there they quickly sat us. The place nice and very cool decor and the menu has many options. After we ordered our dinner, I asked the server if we could have a sushi menu. She never came back after she dropped it off. By the time our chef came out to cook our dinner we decided to not get sushi. The chef was very personable and very entertaining. He asked the same server to prep and bring out the lobster tails that came with our dinner. She never came back (I don't know how she still has a job there) Our chef had to go to the back to get the lobster tails and by the time he was done cooking the lobster, the rest of our food was cold and the lobster tails were massacred and over cooked. We asked to speak with a manager and once she got there she had no interest in hearing why were were dissatisfied with our dinner. Sure, we were able to tell her that our food was cold and she quickly interrupted us and asked us what she could do. My fiance and I really wanted to like this place, we even talked about bringing the kids here to see how they cooked the food in front them. But after tonight, I don't think we'll be coming back. I would make some suggestions if someone by chance works there and they could implement these changes. 1. Hire more experienced staff that care about making a business successful. Not inexperienced teenagers that only expect to get tipped/paycheck, talk, and have a good time with other employees. 2. The chef needs to be fully prepared to cook for two people. 3. Staff needs to focus on giving great customer service, refill water, drinks and whatever else that needs to be done. Thank you for reading this post. read more

First time I ate here today. Ordered the Sunnyside Special: steak, prawns, fried rice, yakisoba and ordered calamari on the side. Everyone here is nice and friendly. The chef was amazingly talented and sweet. He kept us enterianted even through we were a party of two, it didn't discourage his show of talent. Once upon a time this was the only sushi restaurant in all of happy valley and desperate lazy times call for desperate measures. The rolls are not fresh and there never anything on the conveyor belts. The process extremely spendy for what you get. I'm glad there are other options now! read more

We came here with friends for my fiance's birthday and not only was the food and atmosphere great but our chef Nathan (Nate) made our night a 5 star experience. Love! We usually order through Delivered Dish and were beyond sad when they were bought out by Grubhub, since we could no longer order from Fujis. We finally discovered the "Seamless" delivery service, so we can now order from them again. The food is great, nice portions, great fish quality, fast service. The only ridiculously small complaint I have - don't add salad to the tempura when it's takeout, it makes the tempura really soggy. Fuji's is good if you want a good quality conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but are willing to pay a little more, or want to go to Benni Hanna's but don't want to pay that much. It is split into 2 halves the sushi half and the hot grill half. We usually go and order a yakisoba noodle bowl along with sushi such as house rolls, salmon, California rolls, etc. Nothing too exotic. It is usually good quality but have had a tough piece of salmon once or twice. The food from the hot grill was really good. The place is a little spendy, we have never spent under $30 for me and my wife, not that we try to. Over all we will be back it would be easier to justify eating there if it were cheaper though. read more

Drinks are strong, sitting at the track the sushi keeps coming out fresh which is nice! Sitting at the tables where they cook right in front of you is pretty entertaining as well! Some people complain about the price but what do you expect for good food?! Service is always prompt and professional! They work as a team anyone working is always willing to help you out with needing anything! Best conveyor belt sushi fix, EVER. The Fuji sauce is awesome. The prices are reasonable. The service is friendly. Compared to other conveyor belt sushi places I've been to, this place has a great selection, and they're always willing to make whatever you want on the spot. I've never had issues with the fish being dry or questionable, like I've had with other places (and I've been to this place about 15 times over the past two years now). So, take it for what it is. Visited Fuji's on a recommendation from a friend, as I was visiting Portland from out of town. Went at lunch time, so the place wasn't too busy. The Sushi chef was very friendly and quick at making what I ordered. (Dynamite Roll is AMAZING - but extremely hot/spicy, worth it if you can take it). Service was very good and very quick. We Like coming here for the hibachi grill, even then ur paying for the show more than a quality meal. Sushi is some of the worst I've had. I ordered the mango sushi roll "fresh" crab on top, very fishy not fresh in any way. I got the tempura chicken rolls as well, the batter was more of a cornmeal batter then a light crispy typical tempura batter that I'm used to. It seems they try to over use their Fuji sauce along with other various sauces to mask the poor quality & taste. I also ordered a side of yakisoba which I was excited to take him to because I was very underwhelmed by my sushi. Was slightly disappointed to open my box and see just noodles grilled on a flat top. No veggies, no sauce, Nothing that really made it a yakisoba; literally just noodles in a Styrofoam to go box. $40 later I will probably never be back read more

Fugis is always a good idea;) been coming here for years. The staffs always friendly and the foods always good! Most ppl come for the sushi train but I also like going to the regular dinner side of the restaurant as well! They cook your food in front of you which makes dinner more fun. We usually sit around the belt but you don't have to grab from all the wonderful treats going around the belt you can place an order for whatever you desire on the menu... Love this place, was our second time there. I go for the sushi my husband loves the hibachi and both were great. On hibachi meal will easily feed two or three people. When we first arrived we almost didn't go in to dine because we honestly thought it was just a lottery bar, but after reviewing the yelp reviews again we parked and had a good experience. The service and the food was good , a bit more expensive then some of sushi go rounds in the Lloyd District but we were more then happy to pay for a better experience. The deep fried green tea ice cream was fresh and tasty. We drove all the way out from the city to check this place out and we are glad we did. We will return with friends and family . My boyfriend and I come here quite frequently. They went above and beyond last night. We had tried to call to make a reservation but the line was busy, so we just went and showed up around 530. We were told that they had two big party reservations and we wouldn't be able to sit at hibachi table until 7. But then they checked with chef who agreed to cook our meal for us since there was just two of us. We got a whole big table to ourselves plus the chef cooking just our meal. It was amazing! The staff is always friendly here but they exceeded expectations last night and made our date night a very special one. read more

My family has been here a few times, Nathan is awesome and makes great food. Something went really wrong ordering to-go. We paid almost $100 and got ripped off. We got like 3-4 tiny pieces of fillet mignon in our special for two, pretty sure they split one fillet for two portions. The fried rice was disgusting too, almost all of it was burnt and inedible, it seems like someone just forgot about it on the burner. I went there on a Friday after youth service and they had good food but they are very much over priced and they take some time to make your food. It wasn't me first time there but I just couldn't belive what my check came out two. I went there with a friend of mine and we didn't even eat that much and the bill came to be close around 60$. Never the less they do have some of the best sushi. I would go there much more often if they lowered their prices. One of the worst dining experiences I have had. We sat near the rotating Sushi and all the time we were there, I don't think anyone other than my wife took anything off it. It was NOT appetizing at all. It is hard to say what they did to the rice but it didn't look right and the seafood on it looked like a ticket to the express vomitorium. We ordered Ramen Noodles for our son right away as he was really hungry and later me and my wife ordered our entrees. She also had a type of Ramen Noodles and I got the Ribeye and White Prawn combination. They brought out my salad (never saw anything like what was on top of the salad, I think it was dressing but didn't look or taste like it) and a bowl of steamed rice(which got cold waiting for the rest of my meal to arrive). We were busy talking and our son was complaining about being hungry we tried looking for our waitress. We finally spotted her and asked where our meals were and she said it takes some time for the Noodles because they were "homemade". What??? NO THEY WERE NOT! We have reactions to MSG-laden food and that is what happened after eating here. We were so hungry when the food arrived we just chowed down! I had to stop after a short time as my stomach was doing flips. Most of the chunks were not meat but just FAT! I wouldn't really call what I got Prawns unless the word minature proceeded it. I did not sleep well that night and struggled to get through work the next day. When the waitress had asked if we wanted a "to-go" box I informed her that I did not and felt sick. My wife just wanted to leave. They ended up discounting the bill by 50% but I don't think we should have had to pay a dime. We definitely paid for it later. Be warned about eating here! read more

I've been here many times, and they have been okay with the service and the food is better than most conveyor belt sushi. But I do NOT see myself returning back here after last night. Called them and made reservations. When I arrived they didn't even have a table RESERVED for me and a few friends. The server had to look in the reservation book to see if I called. (Bad communication skills with whoever booked me in) We waited of course for a table. They Sat us at one of the grill table. As we we're ordering, a friend also ordered a beer. The beer wasn't available, but the server didn't know the beer menu and had my friend peek over to see what was on tap. The best part of the night was the grill guy and when our food arrived. Sure, the price range is a bit higher if you're used to $1 plates from conveyor belt places, but it's certainly not an extravagant price range, and you do get what you pay for. Best Sushi in this area! They have conveyor belt if you just can't decide and you want to just pick up what looks good. They also make it to order. Their Sushi Chefs are really great, fast, precise and make beautiful, tasty food. We try to go when Eric is there because he always arranges our orders in a beautiful platter that looks as good as it tastes. I love their California Rolls with extra Tobiko! YUM! And he makes the fried calamari fresh without garlic, so I can have some too. Try their noodle bowls, Even my friends who don't care for sushi can get awesome tasty food here with their hibachi style cooking or noodle bowls. Love this place.
