Fujiya Sushi in Elk Grove was excellent! The sushi was incredibly fresh and everything we ordered was delicious. Presentation to the garnishes were perfection. The fresh lemonade was the highlight it was so refreshing and easily one of the best I've had. The service was amazing friendly , attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Very clean and well decorated inside and also had outside seating with lights / heat laps. We'll definitely be back!
Came in since my boys didn't want kbbq, which good call because my appetite wasn't the largest. But loved coming here instead. The place is small but very well put together. The service was wonderful, the staff was kind and always making sure everything went well. The food was great. I ended up getting a special, raw fish topped with uni as nigiri and chicken skewers. My son had the salmon and rice entree while my partner indulged in an unagi bowl.
Came in on our way home from Sacramento last night for Mother's Day dinner. I struggled a bit deciding on 4 stars because the service and food was so fantastic. Our server was young and we could tell she hasn't been doing this long, but she put in the most effort to make our meal nice and I was really blown away by how hospitable and happy she was to be there. That is hugely refreshing and so hard to find anywhere today. She brought me a basket to put my purse in under the table because I don't put it on the floor superstitiously. Our water glasses were always full. We were genuinely able to relax and have a nice time. The kitchen, however, had gotten overwhelmed before we got there and my stepdaughter's chicken donburi took over an hour to come out. I really don't want to fault them for that because it was a very busy day, but it might be a good idea to hire an extra line cook for the next big holiday. I'm looking forward to coming back on a regular day because I'm sure it will be 5 stars! The rolls were fantastic and creative (they're labeled on my photos.) I forgot to take a pic of the Osaka roll but it was devoured by my fiancé so it must have been delicious! The miso soup was full of mushrooms and had great umami flavor. The Sake nigiri was some of the freshest I've had recently and was buttery and delicious. Japanese food is my absolute favorite and this place delivered excellent service and flavor.
A few of us popped in for a quickie dinner after attending a different event. We were actually expecting a whole lot, but the fish quality here is superb! The inside is actually pretty cute. Nice for a date night. My hubs ordered the chirashi and my friend and I each got a roll. Hubs said the fish was super fresh on his bowl and I really enjoyed my crab salad on my roll. Definitely need to come back and try some other goodies.
Open until 9:30pm on Fridays! Lenten Friday night dinner party of 2. The sunomono salad was more than just cucumbers -- it had crab and shrimp too! We also shared one torched (Kobe) and one baked (Lion King) sushi roll, and finished with a slice of special yuzu Japanese cheesecake. Very good service even though it was later in the night.
Update: I've been coming here over a year. This is one of my go to restaurants. The food is consistent and the service is good. The sushi is fresh and everything is made to order. I always and really like the salmon poke. It's a simple dish, but I really like it. My go to roll is the Elk Grove roll or Sakura roll. They both have a good flavor to them. The Ramon is pretty good too. The noodles are cooked to the right consistency and the flavor of the broth is good.
I loved this sushi spot! My family met here for a quick dinner to catch up and it was great. The inside is small but there's surprisingly a lot of tables and it's so nicely decorated. We had a reservation and were a bit early but we were sat immediately. The lady ate the front was so nice and got us a high chair and a kid's cup and utensils immediately without us asking. My mom got an espresso martini that she enjoyed and it had the restaurant logo on top which was a nice touch. Onto the sushi- I got two rolls and both were DELICIOUS. I was very surprised that I liked the vegetarian roll better than the one with salmon. The fried enoki was soooo good. Definitely will have to go back next time I'm home
So we went yesterday January 31st around 5:00 p.m. to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were a group of seven people and when we arrived the space was not too full maybe another four tables that have been set in the restaurant. The Ambiance itself is surprising because on the outside you would not expect it to be so sophisticated is the word I'm going to use when you walk in. The beautiful Walnut color tables the chairs that felt super nice and even the benches had a beautiful golden color to them. In addition the table settings that were used were wonderful because it designs on the plates and bowls were just very vibrant. I also really enjoyed the small detail of the chopsticks that had both ends being pointed. Regarding the service 100% amazing. From the second we stepped in someone greeted us and within like 10 seconds of us sitting down we had a waiter come to us asking us if we wanted anything to eat or drink or had any questions and we were like cool give us a few minutes and we started talking and he came back and was like anything I can get for you and we're like oh we haven't really thought about what we wanted let's ask you what are some good things that you would recommend. And so he gave you some recommendations and we told him we'd talk through then once our party fully got there. We told the birthday boy what they had recommended and basically we got the happy hour appetizers to start. Our full menu was the spicy edamame, the gyoza, Sakura roll, Lion King roll, volcano roll, California roll, spicy tuna roll, elk Grove roll, teriyaki chicken bowl, and the Osaka roll. Overall everyone's favorite top rolls were the Sakura roll spicy tuna and Osaka roll. Each of those had very distinct flavors that blended really wonderfully together when you have the full bite in your mouth. I chose to not add any soy sauce to mine maybe just a little bit of wasabi to really brighten the flavors in my mouth. The rest of the table tried it with soy sauce and wasabi at the same time and still said it was delicious because of flavor profile still came through for all those rolls. The volcano roll and The Lion King roll was a little bit of a mixed bag. The flavor was still good people just had different opinions about what they liked about each role. For example the flavor of the Lion King roll was very delicious, but because it was baked it got a little mushy but that does make sense because the sauce on it made the rice a little softer. For me and others at the table that was just a texture thing. It would be nice to have a little bit more of like a maybe a sear on the rice so that it can have a little crunch as the sauce starts to bake over it. For the volcano roll the friedness was nice but again the crunch wasn't as strong as we would have liked it because again the inside got a little soft due to the bit of frying on the outside. Again flavors were delicious just it's a texture thing for people. The elk Grove roll was the one that was definitely the head scratcher because people like flavors of all the different pieces there was something about the seaweed that was used that gave it like a smoky flavor at the end that was unexpected. Wasn't bad it was just as you tasted it and then the ending note on the pallet was that smokiness you were like where did that come from? Overall though like the atmosphere again is amazing, service was phenomenal, and we really did appreciate the little cheesecake given to the birthday boy. 100% would come back and would like to try their other rolls. Also I would love to try out their ramen because I saw a few people order that and it looked amazing. The broth looks like it takes many many hours to be made.
Hands down best nigiri in the area. I have a hard time finding good quality sushi in the Sacramento area and I'm so glad this spot is right around the corner from my house. I get food here every week and the quality is always so good. I usually get the Chashu fried rice, truffle hamachi, all of their nigiri, and yuzu cheesecake.
Came here for dinner on a Friday night. It was busy but plenty seating for a walk in with no reservation. They do have seating outside as well as the weather gets better. We were greeted by friendly servers and host inside. We immediately were seated and ask for drink order or food. Said we needed more time to look at menu. Everyone was friendly. We ordered flaming mushrooms for appetizers. They were OK; we saw everyone had ordered spicy edeame that was the go to appetizer. We ordered the Kalamazoo and Sakura roll. They were very good!! We also ordered the jalapeño martini and the best lemonade I've had. I highly recommend this Japanese restaurant for sushi and the abundance of other food offered.
I really enjoy Fujiya. I went once two years ago and have been wanting to come back ever since. It has always been on the back of my mind, but I haven't had the opportunity to go to Elk Grove again. I finally got the chance recently and they did not disappoint! My experience was great. Their employees were very nice, helpful and attentive. They seem to refill waters quite often. The vibe and aesthetic of the restaurant is nice and I appreciate how small and cozy their spot is. I got a Lion King roll, which was so good! I've had the Lion King roll at numerous places, but this spot is my favorite. It is very light and feels like a relatively healthy meal. If you are looking for something heavy, Fujiya is not the place for you. The flavors were really good and everything complemented each other perfectly. The roll wasn't overly saturated with sauce and it really brought the flavors out of each ingredient more. I have tried other rolls such as the Firecracker and the Venus Roll as well. For the Firecracker, I love how thin the breading of the fried part is on the sushi roll. It wasn't too oily or greasy and didn't make me feel sick eating it. It is so rare to find a sushi spot that does deep fried rolls right. The Venus Roll was also delicious. I really enjoyed their crunch garlic sauce on this roll and I love that the lemon brought a really nice flavor and texture to the roll. I don't really enjoy raw fish, but the textures and flavors of the roll were very complementary that I did not notice the raw fish much while eating it. I appreciate that they make their sushi rolls with a thin layer of rice, instead of sushi rolls consisting mostly of rice like some places. I also really appreciate that their rolls are perfectly bite-size. A gripe I have with other sushi places is sometimes their rolls are so big that I can't put a piece in my mouth without it falling apart, needing to bite it in half, or having to stuff my mouth unpleasantly looking like a mess trying to eat it. Their rolls are very neat and tasty. I would absolutely recommend this spot. One thing I have been really wanting to try from Fujiya is their ramen. I finally got to try it and I was amazed. I am not a big ramen fan, but I would definitely come here and order it again. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen. The meat portion was a little sparse and I usually like having a piece of meat with every bite, but the flavors in the ramen made it still enjoyable to eat without it once the meat was gone. The broth is very light as well, not too heavy like most ramen broths. The broth was flavorful and I enjoyed even drinking it, which I don't do often. It was that good! Overall, I love that Fujiya's food is light and feels healthy to eat. There is no feeling of a food coma or drowsiness after eating. I felt light, refreshed, content, and full! Their food feels very well thought out and intentional. I appreciate that a lot. Their flavor palette and style of food seem to match up with my preferences. I really enjoyed my experience and will absolutely be back! Fujiya is now one of my favorite sushi spots and I think it's worth the drive.
This is my 2nd time here, made a reservation for 6:15, they got us in at 6:00. My server, Joey was super sweet. She explained to us where the oysters are from and what's the name of each Nigiri. One of the nigiri that we ordered, they ran out so she recommended something else. All the food was so delicious. I'll be back

Decided to try this place out when they first opened up and it did not meet my expectations. We made reservations and when we got there we still had to wait for a table to open up. So What was the point of making reservations then? It was busy and they were slow. And I get it, they just opened so I'm not sure if that has improved. Here's what we ordered: + oyster shot 1/5 didn't taste right, neither did the sake + half shelled oysters 4/5 it was good + stuffed mushrooms 2/5 too much batter + hamachi carpaccio 3.5/5 + Sunset Roll 2.5/5 + Kings Roll 2.5/5 The specialty rolls were just okay.. I was hoping this place would be as good as how it all looked in the pictures but it did but meets expectations. I'll reconsider coming back and then his place again and give an update. read more

I've heard good things about this place so I finally decided to check this place out. When I first walked in, I was surprised to see how nice this place was. Very modern, and had some nice decorations. I ordered the California Roll, the Sakura Roll, and the Volcano Roll. They were all great. I appreciate how the California Roll, they put some seasoning on top. However I felt like the roll could of used more avocado. There was barely in the roll. The Volcano Roll had great presentations and tasted normal. The roll was good, but nothing that really stood out besides the presentation. The Sakura Roll stood out the most to me and is my favorite roll out of the three. Very light (no rice) and you can taste all the items in the roll (Salmon, Yellowtail, Crabmeat, Avocado, Tamago, baby lobster, sauce, Tobiko) Overall I would come back hear, and would recommend this place. The price is worth what you get. I'll give them 5 stars once there's more avocados in the roll! read more

I came here during lunch hours with two of my friends. I didn't know of this place before but after eating here, it's a welcomed addition to Elk Grove. A wonderful Japanese restaurant. We started off with some hot tea and Edamame. For the entree, we all ordered Tonkotsu Ramen w/ a side order of the Sakura Roll for everyone to share. I ordered the Philly Hand Roll and Salmon Skin Hand Roll for myself. I was really hungry during lunch and was able to finish everything. The food tasted delicious! I'm a huge fan of the Philly roll and this hand roll did it justice. The Sakura Roll has no rice so it was straight protein. I would come back here just for that roll. Onto the ramen now, the broth had so much flavor to it and the egg was cooked to perfection! The Cha-Shu and noodles combined with it all was amazing. The food came out so fast even with how busy the restaurant was. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive throughout our stay. The restaurant is super clean and everyone is so friendly. FINALLY...a sushi restaurant down the street from my home! I think Fujiya has been opened for over a month now? Maybe a month and a half? Well, within their first few months of opening, I have visited at least 5 times...for take out and dine in. lol, both experiences being fantastic! The service is always quick and friendly. The owner is often the one at the front and she is very personable - she has had conversations with me and I have noticed her interaction with other customers as well. Super sweet! Now to the food! Chicken Karaage - 10/10 for me! The batter was thin but fried to a crisp. Even after sitting in the container for 30 mins, the texture was still crunchy! I just wish they had some sort of dipping sauce to pair with it. Spicy Edamame - pretty standard, not much stands out here. I would prefer to order to another appetizer, because they have so many other great ones! Truffle Hamachi - so so good! I could tell the fish was fresh and I just loved the sauce that paired with the crunchy toppings. I really enjoyed this appetizer and will likely order every time I dine in. Potstickers - good, but nothing out of the ordinary. They were very juicy and moist but again, I would recommend one of their other delicious appetizers! Teriyaki Beef Bento with Sashimi - my husband really enjoyed his bento - from the way it was presented to the cook and taste. The teriyaki sauce was a great consistency and we really liked that it wasn't overly sweet or sticky. The sashimi was nice a thick and so so fresh. The entrée itself may seem small, but very fulfilling! Chicken Katsu Bento with Sashimi - This one I ordered to go and was surprised to see that they gave me miso soup too! I loved their miso on the cold rainy day. The chicken katsu was tasty, but a bit dry. I did like the breading, however. Volcano & James roll were both good. I felt like they were very similar however, just a few differences. Kobe roll has been my least favorite item, so far. I feel like its missing real texture or a stand out ingredient. I am incredibly excited to have a sushi restaurant down the street and a fantastic one at that! You can bet I will be stopping in regularly! read more

I've been eyeing this place for quite some time. We were shopping martial arts schools for my son and there happens to be one right next-door to here, that's when we first discovered it. Long story short, finally made the time to come eat here tonight, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. Stepped inside and the place as clean, modern, with attentive and friendly staff. I asked them if they had an opportunity to do Omakase tonight and the answer was no. No problem, I'll go about it the traditional way, their menu looks amazing! We ordered: 1. Osaka Roll: Absolutely delicious, delicate, light, fresh flavors with crispy tempura textures that balanced nicely with the soft moist flavorful roll 2. Sakura Roll: Extremely fresh, cold and light to the palate, has a hint of citrus, not heavy bc it didn't have rice in it, very good roll 3. Fire Cracker Roll: This deep fried roll with cream cheese, crabmeat, albacore & topped with spicy tuna was daughter's absolute favorite. She said the avocado & cream cheese did it for her 4. Pyramid Roll: We kept seeing this roll come out to other tables so my daughter ordered it, the beautiful soy wrap roll with mounds of spicy salmon on top surrounded a nice citrus spring salad, this was my husband's favorite 5. Lion King Roll: Hands down my son's favorite roll, the abundant crab filling to thin rice ratio was a win. He has never finished a whole roll to himself until tonight! He said it's the best Lion King roll he's ever had :) 6. Japanese A5 Wagyu w/Uni: Are you kidding me? This was straight BUTTER. If you've never had steak melt in your mouth, order this. You're welcome. 7. Crispy Salmon Skin Hand Roll: I am not just saying this, this is the best salmon skin hand roll I've had to date. Because there was more crispy salmon skin in there than rice, and it was so crispy I was pulling out and eating the salmon skin like chips! 8. Sake-Toro: The flavors are so light and delicate that you don't want to dip this in any sauce, eat it slowly so you can truly appreciate the quality of the fish. Extremely fresh. 9. Spicy Miso Ramen: Creamy, very light spice, perfectly hot temperature, we shared this amongst 3 people, and every single one of us, drank the broth until the bowl was clean after we finished the contents. Delicious!!!! 10. Ika Gesu- Appetizer, get it! It's a great start to the amazing meal you're about to devour! 11. Mango Ice cream- Looks like a sorbet, tastes like ice cream! 12. Green Tea Ice-cream- Super light matcha flavor, not too sweet at all, nice finish to a great meal Everything was masterfully crafted. Thank you for a great culinary experience Fujiya! This place was amazing! It's a hidden gem tucked in East Elk Grove. It's a fairly new restaurant. Their beef teriyaki is very tender and flavorful. Portions on their boxes are just right for me, especially when we ordered sushi as appetizers. You get one piece of salmon, that's a good size and you get about 2 pieces of chicken breast about the size of 2 thighs. The salad comes with a lotus root, which is a favorite vegetable. Their raw fish on the sushi is very fresh. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. One of the sushi we ordered had the soy wrap, Sakura rolland it was very delicious. Their spider roll was good as well. We went on a Thursday evening and they were busy. We waited for about 15 minutes. The restaurant is small, and they have outdoor seating. We had a great experience dining here! The ambience and service are quite top notch. We got three different rolls, grilled yellowtail collar, tempura mix, and the nigiri and sashimi morigawasi. Everything was great but the highlights were definitely those two sushi bowls with the black fish roe, and the sushi platter. You can't really go wrong here as all the foods are presented very well and taste very delicious. I wouldn't mind going back and trying more of their items! read more

Woohoo, a new Japanese restaurant in EG! My sister and I arrived right before dinner rush. We were promptly seated. Wasn't feeling ramen today so I ordered the Sakura roll (I'm trying to cut back on eating rice so this roll was perfect for me as it's rice-less). My sister ordered the tonkotsu ramen. Sakura roll: pretty tasty. Refreshing without all of the rice. Made me really mindful on the different textures and flavors of the seafood. Great low-carb option! Tonkotsu ramen: so my sister really didn't enjoy it. I haven't seen my sister dislike food this much in a while so me being very curious I tried the broth. The flavors in the broth were a bit jarring; salty and too rich when tonkotsu broth should taste very smooth. Also it was strange that only half of a ramen egg was included. My sister told me that the amount of ramen noodles given was really small (this seems to be a recurring issue based on a few previous reviews). The cha-shu lacked deep roasted caramelization just off of looks and my sister said it was bland. I felt pretty bad for her so I shared some of my sushi lol. She liked the sushi much more. Service: our server seemed a bit frazzled at the time. A little snappy not in an angry way but in a "got to keep the work moving" kind of way. She never appeared while we were eating to ask us how the food was or if we needed anything extra. Though, when we asked for the check boy was she on fulfilling that task very quickly. Eh, this place has some kinks but still very much has potential (clean, brightly-lit place and cool vibes with a bar space and open-view kitchen). I'm hopeful that things will smooth out in due time. *Parking lot is a bit small to cater to all of the businesses in the plaza. Wasn't too hard to find parking when we arrived but deep into dinner time you might have to make a few laps until you find a spot. read more

Great service! Clean and cute establishment. Plenty of parking. Priced comparable to most Sushi restaurants in the Sacramento area. I Loved the sushi rolls and appetizers! Favorite roll was the Venus roll. I didn't like the Ramen, but that's only because I hate everything about bamboo and all I can smell was bamboo. Took one taste and couldn't eat it. Server was kind enough to take it off the bill without me asking her to do that which I really appreciated. I do recommend making reservations online to avoid a wait. It was busy on a Saturday night, they have a sushi/drink bar while you wait to be seated. Overall 5 solid stars! read more

This place is a more upscale sushi place. It's not super big but has a very nice ambience feel. It was our first time, didn't know we can reserve, so we did a walk in and waited about 20 min. We ordered the miso ramen, tokanstu ramen, California roll, volcano roll & James roll, and Shiro Maguro nagiri. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and came by few time to refill our water. Both the ramen came in a ceramic bowls and a wooden laddle. But both ramen were flavorful. The Shiro maguro Nagiri tasted fresh. The volcano & James roll were both plated nicely like a volcano. They were good, but I'd prefer more sauce. . Also, it did took a little longer for our rolls to come out but overall satisfied will have to come back to try other rolls. read more

I am giving them two stars because their sushi was good, we ordered the Sakura roll and Gucci roll. We also ordered the volcano roll but that one never came, we canceled the order because it was over an hour wait for us to get that last roll. I have came to this place during lunch and it was fine, didn't have a problem then, but came for dinner yesterday and it was not the best service. The service was not great, our waitress had an attitude the minute she came to attend us, didn't even bother to check in on us throughout the night, but other waiters did stop by and fill our cups. They also catered to people they knew (from what it appeared). Lastly, we were able to join the waitlist online (granted it told us we would be seated by 7:20pm the latest and we did not get seated until 8:03pm, not sure if it was a disconnect between the restaurant and yelp, but false advertisement because prior to joining the waitlist, it said it was a 5-10 minute wait. Overall, would not be going back for dinner. read more

Arrived at 11:00 and was greeted immediately! Ordered shrimp and lobster appetizers. DELICIOUS! Ordered the Gucci and the Evergreen roll. Portions were more then enough for two to share. Restaurant was very clean and organized. Our waitress was friendly and food came out nice and quickly. We will Definitely return!!! read more

It was my first time eating here and it certainly won't be the last! The sushi is a MUST from the Lion King Roll to the Volcano Roll and Sakura Roll. They all had a different dimension of flavors but were distinct and with enough rolls, you'll become one yourself! The best part was the Sashimi! Soy sauce or not, each piece just melts in your mouth. If you're an edamame fan, then I recommend the spicy garlic edamame (yes, there are regular ones for all you "no spice" people) This restaurant also offers outdoor seating so if you enjoy the view of the mountains especially at sunset, then I recommend you book your party outside. The decorations are nice as well. Overall, great hospitality from the servers. If you haven't tried this restaurant, then DO IT! You won't regret it read more

Delicious and aesthetic sushi restaurant in Elk Grove! The service was fast and great. We had servers checking in on us and filling our waters consistently. All of the rolls were so unique in flavor, ingredients, and presentation! The Pyramid roll was my favorite. It's wrapped in soy paper instead of seaweed, but I liked it a lot. There was a sweet citrusy sauce on the salad and roll that gave it a refreshing and fruity kick. The Sakura roll, also wrapped in soy paper, was great, especially if you're a fan of imitation crab meat. There's no rice, so it's a lot of meat, which I enjoyed. For the Osaka roll, you can really taste the freshness of the fish and it was topped with eel sauce and mayo which are great. The Venus roll had lemon on top which paired great with the salmon. Lastly the Elk Grove roll felt very classic but had a fresh kick with the micro greens and cucumber. I never got tired of any of the rolls since the flavors didn't get to the point where it all tasted like the same roll, which I feel happens at some sushi restaurants. I loved all of the rolls here and am looking forward to coming back to try more! read more

This is my favorite sushi restraint in Elk Grove! Previously it had been Umai, but they are now my #2. I stopped by here on a Thursday night, and the restaurant was full. Even so, we were seated in under 15 minutes. I HIGHLY recommend the stuffed mushrooms. We got a few of their rolls and they were all delicious. read more
I've seen this sign for the past couple of years and was super excited to try it out when I saw it was opening!! We came in last night and waited about 45 minutes. We sat there for a while before a server acknowledged us but after that, they were super attentive. My family and I ordered 3 tonkatsu ramen, tuna poke, & 3 rolls. The ramen was the best in my opinion, super rich and creamy! However if ramen is your only meal, I'm pretty sure for some people the portion is a little on the smaller side. But I shared the ramen with my sister in law because we had other rolls. It should definitely be noted that the poke is spicy because it didn't say that! Also the rolls were good but I found the seaweed to be a little too chewy. However the sakura roll was my favorite, and I usually love rice & not a fan of soy wrap, but that was good!! I came here on two separate occasions and both times, I was not disappointed! Cleanliness/Service: (4/5) Very clean and nice, makes you feel relaxed walking in. The second time, service was a little slow and I had to flag them down multiple times in order to get more drinks, but wasn't bad enough to where it ruined my experience. - Shishito Peppers: (5/5) Typical of what I'd expect; was satisified with this usual appetizer. - Hamachi Crudo: (5/5) This was sooo gooooood I wish I could have more of this dish nonstop. Flavors blended well together, loved the crunchy topping on top for a unique experiene, and fish tasted fresh! - Chirashi: (5/5): Also good and filling! The fish quality was fresh and thick and it was the perfect amount to get my money's worth, fill me up, and leave me satisfied. - Nigiri Moriawse: (5/5) THe presentation was beautiful that my mom and brother were so pleased and didn't want to eat it; I didn't take note of the different fishes presented but overall, I took my time savoring every bite with this! read more

Wow my daughter was right their sushi and ramen were delicious. She's been telling me to go try it and finally had the chance tonight. Got there and we didn't have to wait. There were 4 of us but they gave us a table for 6. Ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and Osaka roll, pyramid roll, and firecracker roll. Love their sushi. It was fresh and flavorful. The ramen was good too but seemed a little watered down. Will definitely be back. Great service too. read more

I think this is our newest sushi spot in Elk Grove! My husband and I came here on a Saturday night. We were told the wait was 25 minutes but surprisingly only had to wait about 10! We hadn't eaten all day and were ready to eat right away. It's super cute here with really fun vibes; the leather seats, the dinnerware, the serving platters, and the chopsticks all added to the overall ambience. We ordered three rolls (Venus, Elk Grove, and Osaka) all pictured below. My favorite was the Osaka roll because of the crunch on the inside and the pepper tuna. We also ordered the Hamachi-Toro and the Shiro Maguro. We absolutely loved both of them, but wished we had more of the Hamachi-Toro! We also ordered a two-item bento box (beef teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, salad, fruit, and rice) for about $20 and split that between the two of us. If you've been to Kintaro, Fujiya's portion sizes for the bento boxes aren't as generous. We're super excited about this place and will definitely be back! It's a really great date night spot for amazing high quality sushi. read more
I absolutely loved the experience here. The restaurant itself is intimate with seating for about 60 people including individual seating along the cooking and prep station. It's an open floor concept so it feels like you're dining in someone's home as a welcomed guest. The ceilings are high with candle lit lighting throughout giving off a warmth you feel as if sitting beside a cozy wood fire. I don't recall any specific music playing but the happy chatter you hear in the background likens to a group of long time friends meeting up at a bar. The food presentation is intentional, meticulous, and fragile. The flavors are delicate, and yet has depth that makes you contemplate the layers of each flavor. And last but not least the service here was seamless from the moment they greet you at the entrance to the time they bid you adieu. read more
Nice sushi spot in Elk Grove. Food is pretty good. Fish is fresh. I did feel like chirashi was a bit small. Really enjoyed their nigiri options and drinks. I think they really got the presentation down. Everything is plated beautifully. Sushi rolls are ok. I've been here 3-4 times now. First three times service was great. 4th time I came with a bigger party and although there was nothing wrong with the food, they really screwed up the timing of food. Meaning all the sushi dishes came out and we even finished eating but 2 other people in our party were still waiting for their cooked dishes. They did try to remedy the situation by offering a free dessert when they realized how annoyed we were getting. I appreciated their acknowledgement that it really was a long time the other people in our party had to wait, but kinda made our dinner awkward. Everyone who had finished eating watched the two others finally get their food to eat. They ended up packing it to go without finishing. Overall not a bad spot. The ambiance/vibe here is very chill and hip. The inside is clean & welcoming. Service is excellent, servers were attentive and friendly. I had my two kids with me and they made me feel very welcomed. They didn't make me feel rushed. I was able to enjoy the sushi I ordered. Food is delicious. I keep wanting to go back. The miso soup is way better than any I've ever had. I love the little mushrooms they throw in. Sorry I didn't take any pictures of the miso soup. We came back a second time because my kids loved the atmosphere and the servers are super friendly. We had to get their Salmon poke again because the kids loved it. We tried the Wagyu tartar and it was delicious. We ordered the Elk Grove roll, Osaka roll, and the Sakura roll and they were perfect. I love the rolls here because it's not overwhelmed with a ton of rice like other places. The chefs put the perfect amount of rice into the rolls and cutting them into small enough pieces for each bite. The fish is definitely fresh and well prepped. We also had miso soup and it comes with the skinny white mushrooms which my kids loved! Thank you for another great experience. This is now our favorite sushi go to place! read more
