Steve, the owner apologized at first and told me it was unacceptable. He indicated that he would call to let me know timeframe and cost. He never did. He told me the parts were ordered and be patient. I waited over 4 months and finally told him I wanted my chainsaw back. He put the saw in a cardboard box and charged me $311.90 to "take it apart and diagnose it". When I arrived to the shop, he refused to let me use the credit card machine and said cash only (I purchased items there in the past using my credit card). He was just trying to be rude about it and making it difficult for me. Bottom line. DO NOT support this business!! It is currently up for sale/lease/rent and does not seem to be in a good place financially. Jim is completely rude and does not value his customers. I will never use this business again

Granted, I am 5'2" and 108 lbs so I can understand their concern, but their attitude was very off-putting. If they had advised me in a courteous and professional manner I certainly would not have minded, but I don't appreciate being treated like I am incompetent by complete strangers, especially when I am looking to do business with them. What is more, their pricing is not competitive. I purchased the exact bike I wanted elsewhere for $800 less and couldn't be happier with it.

Later, I took my motorcycle in for repairs; they installed an old, poorly refurbished fairing and replaced parts that didn't need replacing--solely to charge more against my insurance--and they never returned the original parts to me. In the end, I was left without my original parts and with defective ones installed in their place. Furthermore, the decal for the fairing was never applied. Some of the parts I selected were cheaper than the original ones, and they pocketed that price difference as well.

After making my way through the voicemail, I reached a friendly gentleman in parts. He informed me that "we almost certainly have that battery in stock; let me check," and put me on hold. I waited patiently for about 6-7 minutes, then someone else picked up. The subsequent conversation, which took place about twenty minutes ago, was pretty short, so I'll reproduce it in full: Employee: Who are you holding for? Me: I was speaking with someone in parts; he's looking into availability on a battery for me. Employee: Well, he put you on hold because we got so many people here it's going to be about 45 minutes before he can look up your part. So you can keep holding or you can call back -- it's your choice. Me: Okay, so should I just wait about 45 mins and call back? Employee: [In a snarky/patronizing/"problem employee"/passive aggressive voice] You want to wait on hold for 45 minutes? Me: No... Employee: Well then call back. [Immediately slams receiver down on me.] Now let me just mention a few things. I'm easy-going and, as a local business owner myself, I certainly don't like to badmouth a Northampton retailer, especially during these hard times. And I also understand that a workplace can be frustrating when things are piling up. So I would have been very understanding if the second guy who picked up had said something simple like "Hi, we're really backed up. Can you call back later?" Or anything of a similar tenor. Instead, this person decided it would be more appropriate to present me with what amounted to a false choice, then hit me with a nasty and patronizing tone when I -- unaware that he was just looking for an opportunity to unload his attitude on an unsuspecting customer -- simply sought some clarification as to what he wanted me to do. To recap: I was just looking for a battery. I was going to give them my business. This was utterly uncalled for. To the owner of this business, I would suggest that this employee needs a serious talking to.

Every time I walk into this shop (which is fairly often) I'm always blown away by the custom work they have going on and how excited the guys are about what they're working on. What makes me different from most folks that go to this shop is I'm a Harley guy. I can say without question that Chris and Josh are comfortable and confident working on any make of motorcycle. I trusted them to work on my Sportster and I trust them now to work on my Road King. When you drop your bike off for work you'll always have a good idea on what it's going to cost. These guys are great at quoting an estimate and follow through with great communication should they discover something else that might need attention. They'll never do any work without finding out if you actually want it done. These are stand up honest guys doing something that they love to do. Just stop by the shop sometime and have a conversation with these guys. If their genuine enthusiasm, passion and positive attitudes don't win you over....you should probably find another shop.

I needed a 5000k service, and thought I'd check it out. Troy treated my bike like it was his own, that to me was very important. Their 5000k service included everything from soup to nuts. In other words, more than any dealership. When I got the bill, I told Troy, I asked him if that was correct, as it seemed too low,...as I am an honest person and want to pay my fair share, he said that it was...sold...customer for life! Last winter I left my bike with Troy for another 5,000k service, to have the top end rebuilt, and to install a Ginz sissy bar with brackets and to have the brackets and fender supports powdercoated black. Quite a laundry list of things to do. When the bike was finished, it was mid winter, I told Troy that I wanted to ride it home, he said no problem, come and get it when you want to. There was one day in February when the weather was in the 50's. I told Troy that I wanted to come and pick it up, no problem. I thought that I would have to pay for storage at least while the bike was there, Troy said no. I was very pleased with the job that EVO did, and I could tell that Troy was too, as he told me how everyone in the shop enjoyed looking at the bike when it was finished. As a repeat customer, I want to say that I have been impressed with Troy and the quality service he and his staff at EVO Cycles provide in Derry, NH.

On our way to Red Streak, the bike stalled about a mile away. We called them and they came with their trailer and picked it up at no charge (turns out we didn't think to hit the reserve on the gas tank - what can I say we're learning!) We knew they were going to need to replace the tires, but they also lubed the chain and did something to the carb, b/c afterwards my husband took it for a ride and said that it is running SO much better than it was before. While we were there looking around several people asked if we needed help. They were just all around friendly - good service and good guys.

Brought it back to him for him to look at told me he didn't know what was wrong but was going to cost A minimum of $2000 to repair. I asked him how could you tell me how much it's going to cost when you don't even know what is wrong. Just looking for quick cash? What was really upsetting is that he wouldn't stand by his work after 11,000 miles.
