The vibe and atmosphere at this restaurant was 10/10. The music was really good and the service was excellent. The pasta however lacked a little flavor and the drink wasn't not good. Pictured is the pasta bolognese which I would rate 7.5/10. And the watermelon Gladys with I would rate 0/10, the reason is wasn't good in my opinion was because it was very tart and sour rather than sweet. It also seemed as there was no alcohol in there at all. The second picture was the vegan burger with truffle fries which I rate at 8/10. The truffle fries were very delicious. Additionally in the 3rd picture we got the fried mozzarella appetizer which I rate a 8/10. Overall great vibe and nice night out with friends. Most likely will not return tho. read more

This place is popping ! I mean the restaurant of the block! They had both outdoor and indoor seating. Two options for outdoor: on sidewalk with heaters and one on the street with a covering (not sure if there's heat). We had to wait 30 min but that's typical on a Friday night I'm sure. Will rate from (1-10) of what we ordered: 1. Baked ziti - 10. Great portion and super delicious. 2. Kale Caesar salad - 8. Huge portion and served as our appetizer. 3. FUMO burger - 6.5. I guess you really shouldn't order a burger at an Italian place but i was craving truffle fries which honestly weren't that good. Some was burnt. Overall great experience! Happy I dined at the bar last Thursday. The Baby Artichoke ($14) was flaky and texturally divine, though some pieces still had a bit of the choke. Of course, this needs to be served with a dipping sauce, but the chipotle mayo didn't make sense - it's too dark a flavor profile. I could've used more acid and brightness. 3.5 stars. Steak Frites ($26) was 4.0 stars solid. The fries were thicker than I like, but had that nice coating to them to make them super crispy and flavorful. The steak was divine! Great char, perfectly med-rare as requested. They were offering a pretty cool watermelon lager for $6 during happy hour. The staff were all kind and welcoming. Came a few days ago with one of my friend with high hopes considering how highly rated the place is. Upon trying to find the restaurant it was a little confusing because there was a store right next to it with the Fumo sign but was closed off so we thought it was a closed business. Luckily when we finally found the entrance, the restaurant had a cute and aesthetic ambiance to it. Surprisingly it was not too loud as my friend and I could hear each other quite well. When I ordered my food the waiter kindly told me that the noodle type could be substituted without extra cost so that was a plus on them! However when I was served my food l was disappointed but the quality of the shrimp at such price point. Not only were there not that many shrimps, it was also overlooked! Besides that, upon serving the pasta, they grate the cheese in front of you until you ask them to stop which was very nice! As a result, I felt that my food was not worth it's price point. The cutest restaurant with great food, great prices and awesome service. We made reservations for 6:30 on Friday. It was pretty crowded, so for sure recommend them. Our waiter came over very quickly. We ordered the chicken parm with a side of penne Alfredo and the rigatoni gamberi. They also give free bread (always a perk). The pasta was amazing. It came with a pink cream sauce, shrimp, cheese and mushrooms (I subbed out the broccoli for mushrooms). The chicken parm was delicious as well. Quite possibly my favorite sit down pizza place on the UWS. The staff are very attentive and so polite. They appreciate their customers and it shows in how they welcome and treat them in the restaurant. The food is also very good. I really like the kale Caesar and the pastas are solid. I've also been for bottomless mimosas which is always fun. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and modern, and Fumo bumps a great playlist too! So I am back in school, which leaves little free time. This is where services such as UberEats come into play. One evening, I decided to order some food. I was in the mood for Italian food, and checked out the UberEats app to find my best option. Fumo popped up as a recommendation, and I decided to order pizza. I ordered the Roni pizza, which came with pepperoni, sausage, hot cherry peppers, and mozzarella. The order did not take long to get processed, and the pizza was delivered to my front door in less than 30 minutes. The pizza came at a good temperature, it was warm and just right when it got to me. The pizza was amazing! It was delicious, and the hot peppers were actually spicy! (One of my biggest pet peeves is mild food that is advertised as spicy, I'm glad the people at Fumo were accurate in this detail). This pizza hit the spot. I catered a holiday event by Fumo and everyone was really happy with the food! When you're catering, it often seems like it's quality over quality. Fumo's restaurant reviews looked good, so it looked better than the average catering option. -Bread: the order came with bags of sliced nice, white country bread. It wasn't noted on the catering site, but I wish it was. -Garlic bread: comes in small, crusty slices. It made the room smell delicious and garlicy. -Spinach Avocado Candied Nut Salad: as always, wish there was as more avocado, but the salad and the dressing was tasty. The half tray container was packed full. Lesson learned to only buy about 1/3 of the salad needed for the full group lol -Meatballs: (not Parmesana) didn't state whether they come plain or with any sauce. They did come in sauce and people found them very tasty. -Chicken Parmesan: always a crowd pleaser, there wasn't any leftover so it was definitely a hit -Salmon/Branzino: both were solid and nicely seasoned. -Baked Ziti: the full tray of this was definitely the heaviest and most densely packed. Good bang for your buck, tasty, and always a crowd favorite. -Vegan Cashew Pesto Pasta: no one suspected it was vegan! Really delicious and well coated in sauce. The cashew base made it nice and chunky/creamy. -Gluten Free Pasta: available to swap into any pasta dish. It was very tasty. I put it in the funghi and people really loved the dish and didn't suspect it was gluten free. -Funghi Pasta: creamy, chunky mushrooms and a strong truffle flavor. Mushrooms can be very hit or miss for people, but my group was raving about this dish. -Broccoli: lots of garlic, but not oily which I appreciated. I had to show this rude and unprofessional 5'5 man proof that I called the restaurant and had made reservations. When seated, you immediately get a sense of what the environment in this place will be for the next 90 minutes. The busboys circle your table like hungry sharks waiting to take your plates, my baked ziti was just alright, oh and my tiramisu cake tasted like whip cream and wafers. I love Fumo!! I've been to their Amsterdam location several times and it never disappoints. This time around I came with a few co-workers for lunch and we had a great experience. The bread with olive oil/balsamic vinegar that they give as a starter is so so good! We decided to share the rice balls as an appetizer and they were delicious - highly recommend them. For our entrees we had the Buffalo Chicken Pizza (my ultimate fave!!!), the baked ziti, and the penne caprese. Everything was amazing. Service was pretty fast so its perfect if you want to get a quick bite. The decor also deserves a mention as it was very bright, green, and airy - gives off the feeling of sitting outside minus the hot temperatures. No complaints here!
