This was the first time eating at the Noodle Bar. I had the Dan Dan noodles which I had never eaten before. It was lightly spicy broth. The noodles were exceptional. I said to my wife that this was the first"Chinese" restaurant that I had ever been in that had a glass divider between the guests and the kitchen where you could want the kitchen crew working. Nothing to hide here. Anyway the pricing was modest for the quality of food. It was the first time that I now look forward to exploring their menu in depth. I'm not a food snob or gourmet. Second dine in visit. The service was great and the food delicious. Open dining area and a window with full view of chefs at work creating fresh noodles. Our waiter was extremely attentive making sure we were comfortable and checking in on our food and service. We had the egg rolls, sliced noodles with chicken and Mongolian beef. We enjoyed each dish, only thing I'd say was Mongolian had a heaping amount of bell pepper. The amount of meat in it was good though and still tender and flavorful. read more

Good appetizers, especially the takoyaki though the rest of the menu is either a hit or miss. Try the Mongolian beef, it's pretty good though stay away from the Chow Mein as it tends to be dry somehow. Overall, good place for a quick bite especially if you're looking for an Asian restaurant in Santa Fe. read more

I had seen good reviews for this restaurant and was excited to try it out. I only have one word for the food "Yuck"!

My first time here (take out); I ordered 3 small apps and one main. 2 of the apps were OK, the dumplings and the "BBQ pork crepes" ; although the "crepes" were more like steamed buns, but tasty nevertheless--don't know if I got the right thing as the menu also says there are 2 pieces with crepes and this item had 4 pieces--small puffy bun-like bites holding a piece of pork and cucumber? The other two items were not OK. One, the cucumber salad, was literally sitting in a container of oil. Hard to understand ruining fresh cucumber with a pool of oil; we drained it. The entree, pan fried sliced noodles with chicken, was a mushy mess. It was all overcooked beyond recognition (no al dente here!); to the point that ingredients were hard to recognize, one noodle had melted into the next noodle to form a food clod. Both my sig-other and I had a hard time finding the chicken in the pile of soggy, cloddy mush. I am old (violins), have been an avid eater for decades, and I can safely say this noodle dish was the worst Asian dish I have ever had, coast to coast--equal to the worst Midwestern Diner "blue plate specials" of the 1950"s. I ate a couple bites and that was it. Really, the kitchen should have never sent this dish out as it guarantees a no return by the customer who was stuck with it. read more

Not so fun noodle bar. Two noodle dishes were over cooked, bland and tasteless. Had to add a ton of condiments. Egg rolls are weird, very doughy and heavy oil, with a chemical dipping sauce. Veggies were 90% watery onions and bell peppers. This place would never pass in a big city. read more

Best noodles I've had since eating in Vancouver (whichis known for it's Asian food)! Went there on a Friday night and was promptly seated. Had a great view of the chefs making the homemade noodles. Nothing beats fresh pasta! We ordered shrimp tempura which was nicely fried-not greasy. I ordered the Dan Dan Noodles and my spouse order the Pan Fried sliced noodles. Both were delicious. Some of the Chile oil infused broth went down the wrong way and I started coughing. Within minutes, we were offered a substitution. It was very nice of them as it had nothing to do with the food-just one of those things. I got the Sliced Noodle soup (at no charge). The staff was very nice and so accommodating. We ended up with way too much food (the soup bowls are huge) so brought some home. Will definitely return and recommend this to friends. A great addition to the Santa Fe food scene! read more

This place just opened like a week ago and we're super bummed we weren't able to get dinner for pickup tonight! We placed an order, couldn't get anyone on the phone, so we drove over and there were at least twenty people inside waiting on their orders! We ended up having to get a refund because it was an unreasonable wait time.. they're so slammed. I'm talking like four+ hours for a meal for two. Sooooo disappointing. We spent $70 dollars!!! For takeout that was absolute garbage. We threw most of it out. We had to wait for the food to be ready at pick up time and it was still not fresh? The wide noodles were mushy and doughy. The pad Thai was gross, with a number of items that should never be in the dish, especially raw broccoli. So sad- never again... our kids had orange chicken with a teeny box of dried out white rice, the chicken had actual canned mandarin oranges on top of it, I guess like a garnish but still, YUCK. Don't get your hopes up Santa Fe, honestly the frozen PF Chang's meals you can buy at the grocery have way better flavor... read more

This is a fun idea and it is neat to see the food being prepared. That being said, we found the food to be really tasteless. As others have noted, things labeled spicy just aren't at all. There were hardly any veggies in any of the three main dishes we got, and the meats were tough. The pan cut noodles were so sticky and doughy and a little hard to swallow. It was kind of pricey to boot. So sad...I wanted to love it. I would think this would be a big hit for people with little kids who are picky and want a show and bland food. read more

What a nice surprise it was to stumble upon this new restaurant. Fast and friendly service and delicious food! They have a window separating the kitchen from the dinning room. There, you can not only see the chef's cooking away but can also see them making and stretching the dough for the fresh, handmade noodles! Dinner AND a show. How cool. We ordered the spring rolls, which were tasty but were not the like spring rolls that you'd find in a Vietnamese restaurant. There were more like egg rolls but like I said, still good. For our entrees, we had the Chicken Fun Ramen, which was a huge serving and very delicious. We also ordered the Youpo Noodle (Beef Only). That was bursting with flavor and also a very generous portion. For dessert, we ordered the mango and the strawberry mochis and were pleasantly surprised with a fun presentation! What fun you'll have at Fun Noodle Bar. Can't wait to go back! :) Oh and in a city where everything seems to close very early, they are open until 9:30, which is nice. read more

We've tried this place twice. First time we ordered a few of the traditional Chinese dishes and egg rolls. Everything was pretty bland except with weird spice undertones. Second time we ordered the Tonkotsu ramen, which would have been good if it hadn't had way too much sodium, so salty I could only eat the noodles, pork, and other toppings because the broth was nearly inedible. I think the kitchen is uneven. How else can a place have so many good and bad reviews if not for that reason? I really wish this place would get their act together because the noodles are great. read more

We are sooooo happy to learn recently that fun noodle bar's Santa Fe location has opened. We've had takeout and today we ate in the restaurant for the first time. It is very spacious and airy and we were all able to spread out comfortably. We had the shrimp tempura and oh my! Those beauties were crispy and perfectly cooked. The General Tso's chicken was also cooked to perfection. And while it's really fun to watch the chefs making the noodles, when that steaming platter of pan fried noodles with beef and veggies landed on our table, it was like heaven! Delicious! Our server Connie was outstanding and the owner, Tao, and the entire staff, were welcoming and added to our fantastic experience! Thank you and we will see you all soon! read more

Worst food imaginable. Gloppy hand cut noodles, no taste whatsoever in the broth -- and Orange chicken? Really?? I challenge you find a shred of anything that looks or tastes like chicken buried within a massive glob of fried dough soaked in cheap sugary "sauce". Horrible! The noodles are hand made and spot on, they offer GF noodle substitution, and the broths are delicious. I have to admit a weakness for Dan Dan Noodles and schezwan peppercorns, if you like it spicy request it, I was much happier after doing so on my 2nd try. I also tried General Tso's Chicken, it seemed to be chicken nuggets with 2 overcooked small broccoli florets in a thick sweet sauce- my advice is to stick to the noodles, they will make you happy. read more

Four of us got takeout here last night. It was not fun. The sliced noodles accompanying a rudimentary serving of vegetables were uncooked, pasty in texture, and tasted like warm flour. The vegetable pad Thai tasted vaguely like traditional pad Thai, but the noodles were bland, and there were very few vegetables. The orange chicken was sort of Panda Express mediocre, but the scallion pancakes were inedible: thin, dry, and tasteless. The broth for the spicy Tonkatsu Ramen was good on its own, as was the pork. But slopped together in a bowl with bland, undercooked noodles the dish turned to mush. The only item worth eating was the side of seaweed salad. This is a franchise chain outlet. The ingredients were uniformly bland, the preparation sloppy, the finished product nearly inedible. Santa Fe, for its size, has a lot of impressive restaurants, and a few, like Jambo Cafe and Paper Dosa, that do African, Caribbean, and Indian food expertly. But for some reason Santa Fe just cannot put together a first-rate restaurant specializing in Southeast Asian cuisine. It's an opportunity waiting to happen. read more
