Found Pho Ava on the Main Street of Santa Fe and it was very near our hotel. Stopped here to try their Chicken Pho and roasted pork and spring roll Vermicelli noodles. The food tasted well and portion sizes were decent but the condiments you get along with the Pho were minimal. I feel those condiments go a long way and definitely add more flavor to the dish. Service was ok because the server face seemed more irritated than welcoming with no expressions. A smile goes a long way along with little more herbs and some warmth lol. The restaurant otherwise was clean and there were plenty of customers. A definite 3/5 for service and 4/5 for the food. read more

The food and the staff are all great! Always a friendly hello when we enter. The pork fried rice was especially smoky today. Loved it! The pho was ok, not very flavorful considering all the ingredients I added. The broth was so bland. But It was good enough for this cold day. Only three pieces of fatty meat. Asked for chili oil and I was given dry chili flakes... disappointing. My mother loved her shrimp and veggies! The vegetable egg rolls were so burnt that the insides were like dust when you bit down. Very disappointed in this establishment. I tried to order an appetizer and they did not have it available. Then I attempted to order from the kids menu and they would not allow me to order the item. If I ordered it "to go" then all of a sudden it's "ok?" I was also with another individual who ordered quite an expensive dish. This does not make sense to me. First off, I didn't know there were any pho places in Santa Fe. A friend brought me just after my birthday. I forgot to take any pictures of the food. Had the rare steak and meatball pho which was quite good. We had good appetizers, chicken pot stickers and edamame. Not the best pho I've ever had, but my favorite place in White Rock is closed. They forgot to bring us our garnish (bean sprouts, jalapenos, etc) until we asked for the forgotten spoons as well. I'd give em another try for sure. read more

They are always so nice and sweet, I always go either to sit in or to take takeout and they're always really fast with their service and really, I love going there because I feel welcomed and I feel like I'm at home, one of the times I had went to eat there, I saw a family a young couple with a baby and the waiter was holding the baby so the couple could eat, and I just thought that was beautiful and really heartwarming to see, their food is very delicious. Every time I come here, I leave full and satisfied. The service is very friendly and fast, and the food is delicious! My go to is the spicy noodle soup, and I loved it so much the first time I haven't ventured out to other dishes. In the summer I'll definitely have to try out the vermicelli bowls because they also look great. The spicy broth starts off warm and delicious, but the spice catches up to you in the end! Skimped on the dressings for my Pho and the. Charged me $2 per bowl for more. Thai was my favorite place to have Pho but this will be my last visit. The soup was deliciously and well-flavored. Wish they added a little bit more meat (they only provided three of four thin slices of rare steak). It's not exactly a great place to dine-in. Probably not something they can control, but just be aware. That said, the real issue was the service. Way too expensive and it's not even real authentic Vietnamese food very disappointed and service very poor

We used to love this place! We used to come 2-3 times a month for the past ~5 years, but ever since they gained serious popularity during the past 2-3 years I feel like their service has gone down hill. Portions have gotten smaller while prices have slightly increased. There was an instance when we were denied service 45 min before closing (despite being a frequent customer) and the past 3 visits they've forgotten to add our drinks and appetizers to our tab and then add them right before we pay. I get mistakes happen, but take responsibility for it. Lastly, the pho hasn't had the same taste as before. This is mainly why we stopped eating as frequent, it just doesn't have that touch as it used to, and as my wife said "the broth has a dirty taste" and my youngest daughter mentioned "it gets stuck to my tongue" whatever that means in a 6 yo mind. We still come here to get our fix once a month and I hope they solve these issues. read more
