The restaurant has been there for at least 10 years or so so we figure that's a good time to go have a meal since we were close by. Started off with some appetizers and a Tsingtao beer and sake. We got chicken wings, ribs, chives pancakes. We also got 2 main entrees a 3 protein noodles with pork, beef and shrimp. The other dish is eggplant with dark sauce and a side of steamed white rice. This is perhaps the best Chinese cuisine in Santa Fe since they are limited Chinese restaurants in Santa Fe. Prices are incredible overpriced compared to competitors, however I would that the best thing this cuisine has is the fried rice and the chicken skewers. The Lo mein is very soggy in taste and the egg drop soup is descent but nothing outstanding. You can place orders through the phone as well. The j sis Eid the restaurant is spacious and it can accommodate large families. The reason this place is getting 3/5 despite the outstanding friend rice and chicken skewers is that all my family had an unpleasant stomach reaction minutes after consuming this food. read more

I think Lulu's is the best Chinese in town. I've tried them all. The won ton soup is delicious, deep flavored chicken soup and the won tons are chicken - not pork! The crispy tofu is a favorite. Decided to try this restaurant for dinner since I had not eaten here in many years. It co-located with a Quality Inn, but don't let the outside fool you, it has pretty nice Chinese decor inside. The beef and broccoli, pork with garlic sauce, fried rice and egg rolls were all delicious. The price is reasonable for the amount of food you get. Servers are friendly and attentive. It's hard to find good Chinese food in Santa Fe, but when you are thoroughly saturated with Mexican food, this is a good place to come. The atmosphere is pleasant and staff very nice. Food was tasty. We had Kung Pao chicken and Sweet and sour pork with sides ( everything is Ala Carter's here!) of white rice and fried rice. I thought the fried rice was pretty bland, wouldn't order it again. Lulu's offers excellent Chinese cuisine and service. Among all the Asian restaurants to pick from, Lulu's will absolutely not disappoint your taste buds. The food is prepared by chefs having years of experience in the traditional preparation of Chinese food's unlike modern style preps that lose the authenticity in taste. Substituted ingredients are used in preparing the food for the American pallet. For example, Panda Express is the McDonald's of Chinese food that's far removed from traditional preparation that's processed for quik sales. I will always remember the saying bad food waits for you and good food, you wait for it. Lulu's is definitely worth the wait. I've been here a few times, but it's been a good few years since my last visit. Same wonderful staff with smiles, an uplifting spirit. If you're gluten-free and I'm looking for Chinese food, Lu Lu as always made my meals gluten-free and I've never gotten ill but tonight when I placed my order for pork chow, fun gluten-free and left when I went to eat it was served lo mein with soy sauce that wasn't gluten-free. This one is honestly a very confusing one simply because I didn't see one Chinese person working inside the restaurant. Is that wrong? Either way two things that are very important to mention. The food at Lu Lu's is good, but not great. I'm in search of really authentic Chinese food in Santa Fe, and the search continues! I had an appetizer of Pan Green Onion Cake ($4.85) which was tasty but a tad too greasy. The entree, Crispy Orange Chicken ($8.95), is served with rice, egg roll, choice of soup and a cream cheese wonton. The proportions are ample but the sauces taste canned. Service here is not very attentive: two waiters attend to the entire place and so getting drink refills or attention is a real challenge. I order from them because they were in the hotel. First I should have check the bag when I pick up my order. No forks or spoons in the bag. I walked backed from one end of the hotel to the restaurant to get the forks or spoons. The second thing and the reason for the two stars. No rice? I bought the General Tao Chicken and it did not come with rice. No matter where I have ordered General Tao Chicken it came with rice. I called them and they said it was extra for the rice. read more

Rat meat. Zero stars. First yelp review because of this. I've read through most of the other reviews on here and it looks like they called in a bunch of favors to get the rating up...just straight up lies about how good the place is from. I'm less surprised by there yelp rating after figuring that piece out. Even the sentence structure is questionable To go order all closed up tight so I don't check the horrific chicken I ordered. It was chewy and stringy and didn't taste like chicken...strange small pieces. It tasted really off and I'm pretty sure it was not chicken. I called the restaurant to complain the offered me another meal I asked for a refund the offered me a partial refund on my order. No offense but if I spend 40 dollars on a meal for my family and you serve me rat meat and I complain you should probably do a little more than that. Just terrible experience. Feels like a train inside the restaurant, terrible spice, make belief dishes from a typo ridden menu. Hope you have a strong gut. Ended up eating leftovers because I was so infuriated by the incompetency and lack of awareness there. This was my first visit here with my co-workers for lunch. The staff were friendly. They seated 5 of us right away. The food was excellent. I had Kung Pao Chicken and loved it. They didn't offer us chopsticks, which I was a little disappointed with, because I like to eat Oriental meals with chopsticks, but we were all mindful of the time, so it was for the best. The one thing I really had a problem with is the left the back door open. The day we went it was very cold outside with a strong wind. It was uncomfortable. We asked them to shut the door, which they did. But then 5 minutes later they opened it again. Most likely the kitchen staff were working under hot conditions. I get that. But boy, having to sit there in the cold was bad. I may return, but only when its warmer weather, so if they need to leave their back door open, I won't have to suffer the cold. read more
